My Dad was visiting me for the weekend and needed to bring his dog to a veterinarian for a rash. This place was the most helpful and was able to see us right away after calling. The staff was kind, professional, and the value is great. I’m glad to know there’s such a great vet office so close to my house! We had a very pleasant experience. Definitely recommend!

Nice and quiet vet for once and best of all everyone is super nice! What separates them from everyone else are the little things. The doctor knew I was nervous when he took my cat to the back and he returned a short while later to ease my anxiety that my Kitty will be OK. That itself deserves 5 stars! I highly recommend this place!!

Staying at a nearby state park, our cat got very sick and they were most accommodating in recognizing the emergency. They got us right in and rendered treatment and then followed up first thing the next morning. We then hurried home to see our regular vet and they gladly sent records and X-rays. Professional and compassionate and focused on the welfare of your pet. We can’t say enough about how wonderful they are. And in the end, Jack the Cat is now doing fine.

Shoppes of Estero Animal Hospital has been taking care of both my dogs since they've been opened. I've always gotten great service and the best care for both my dogs. They're very pleasant and always willing to accommodate us. Thanks to Dr. Oliver for such great service.

Recently took our bulldog to the vet at the Shoppes if Estero Animal Hospital. What a wonderful experience. The place is tremendously clean. Dr. Oliver was extremely open and explained everything to me very throughly. I would recommend this Vet to anyone in the Estero area as they are definitely caring about animals and feel comfortable with them as our vet.

I do not recommend Dr. Oliver for any surgical procedures. I recently brought my 1 year old male dog, Triton, here to get neutered. He was thought to have cryptorchidism which we later found out he actually only had one testicle. When Dr. Oliver was doing the surgery he was unable to find his undescended testicle, therefore, instead of stopping and closing Triton back up, he proceeded to make another incision and remove my dog's prostate thinking he had found his other undescended testicle. Triton was taken home that night and was not doing well. I was told to give him until the morning to urinate and if he was unable to go, to bring him back into the clinic. By early morning Triton had not urinated and was not acting himself, therefore, I took him to the 24 hour emergency vet clinic close to home. They were unable to get a catheter into Triton's bladder and so they recommended Triton be transferred to a board certified surgeon. A couple hours later Triton was taken into emergency surgery. When the surgeon opened him up he found Triton's bladder completely black and dead. Dr. Oliver had accidentally removed my dog's prostate and cut the blood supply to his bladder. We had to put our dog down while he was under anesthesia. I work in the medical field and I'm not sure how you can make this mistake. I was compensated by the clinic for my outstanding charges, but I feel the need to post this so that other people don't make the same mistake. Please do your research before trusting any Vet. We obviously did not do so and have now lost our beautiful dog.

Went as well as can be expected for someone bringing in the sweetest angel of a dog and satan's spawn as the other one. They are both chihuahua mixes, and everyone that I came into contact with didn't judge (as they don't know her backstory) and took great care of both!! Thanks yall

We have had a dog our entire adult life and have moved several times which caused us to have to deal with several veterinarians. After all these years, we finally found a vet who is the best of all. They are caring, compassionate, fair with pricing and has our dogs best interest at heart.

I just love the entire staff. The Dr save my sons fur baby Maggie where 2 other Vets before him overlooked what was wrong. Maggie was literally dying and Doc did emergency surgery and saved her life. Maggie is now healthy 2 years after her surgery. We take ou fur baby and my daughter takes her fur babies to Doc also. We are truly lucky to have found such a wonderful staff. Very overpriced. Blood work on your pet will cost you over $ 500 easily. That is a scam. Don’t go there, they are all about the money.

My cat Zolo had a serious problem with hairballs etc. I took him in to see Dr Oliver and Maxine and they were great, diagnosed his problem and taught me how to give Zolo his medicine. He is a happy cat again . He will always have his problem but I have Maxine and Dr Oliver to help me. Jill Keene-Lucas

The labs took too long to get back to diagnose my pet. The fees were not quoted correctly and I ended up paying more. The doctor did not arrive at the scheduled time for my appointment and I had to wait for a call to let me know what was going on. In the end, after a week of non diagnosis due to delayed labs while my pet suffered, I had to put my pet down. I felt judged by one of the staff and her quipping remarks, even though there was no hope of a recovery from the illness. UPDATE: I am astonished at the lack of professionalism of this office in deciding to divulge personal and private patient information on a public forum in an effort to save face against a negative review. This information they stated is not accurate and shows the type of unprofessional-ism and judgement that I felt. Let me provide the public with the actual information. 1.I would NEVER let my pet go a MONTH without eating or having sustenance. I am appalled that you would even think that or post such rubbish. I reported that 3 weeks earlier I had noticed less poop in the box. Two weeks out I noticed he was eating less and less and got him the fancy food. One week out I noticed he was eating less and less of the fancy food. I even brought in a sample showing how little he had eaten just the day before ! 2.The doctor was not even in the building when I arrived for my scheduled appointment for 12:30.When the doctor did arrive back to the office, instead of seeing me, he attended to another patient whose appointment was set for 1:00 because they were in a hurry. 3. I was given a quote for diagnostic tests. The quote was missing the overnight costs. The office staff said she forgot to include it but gave me a verbal of $15 a night. I was charged $55. 4. If, as was stated my pet was “gravely ill”, Labs should have done in house or placed a STAT rush for urgency in order to make a diagnosis so treatment could begin ASAP. Monday late afternoon, the labs were STILL not back. Tuesday AM the labs were finally back & I was asked to to be at the office at 12 to talk with the Dr. I asked about the costs as well as the costs of letting him go if / when needed. 5. The staff told me she had gotten into his cage with him and just laid there with him and cried. It was then stated that she would take him home and feed him every 5 minutes and take care of him if it would save him – as if I was unwilling to do the same and care for him. When deciding if we wanted his ashes back, we decided NO and the “look” I received was daggers. During the procedure my pet was so weak and ill that the doctor could not find a vein even after trying three legs. At one point the medication was injected and went into his flesh not his vein causing stinging and pain and he reacted badly. I stepped back telling my son maybe we could step away (for a moment so the doctor can have more room and get a vein). I was abruptly interrupted and aggressively told, “NO - Don’t you leave him!!” Then a few minutes later I was told that I needed to be on the other side of the table looking into his eyes as he died. My son is a leader in the SWFL Voices for Anonymous – an animal advocacy group against animal cruelty and suffering. We as a family decided we would not let him suffer through his diseases or harsh treatments that in the end would not save his life. Taking one look at my pet and seeing his markedly declined condition from Saturday, my family knew he was suffering. I stand by my original review and in light of the reply to me I have posted this thread on my local HOA Intranet and FB page in hopes that other will not have to endure the delayed diagnosis and treatment, judgement and shaming attempts in such a time of loss. I suggest the office staff take a long look at their actions and learn from this. Having said all this, Dr. Oliver was kind and understanding and I do not believe he has any knowledge of this review exchange. If he does and supports his staff’s unprofessional behavior I’m appalled.

The Shoppes Of Estero Animal Hospital saved my Mama kitty who had recently given birth and needed emergency surgery for a serious infection. The compassion and kindness of Maxine and Trista were beyond expectations. They saved the life of four kittens' Mama and we will be forever grateful.

I had the best experience at Shoppes of Estero. From the moment I made my appointment, I felt welcome and treated like a concierge customer. The day I brought my new puppy in for her spay, we were warmly greeted at the front desk and our excellent experience started there. Because I had lost a previous pet during her spay, much care and concern was taken to make me feel comfortable. I was called with an update after her spay and then when I took her home, I was called to see how she was doing and to ask if I had any questions. This is my vet now and I will continue to recommend Shoppes of Estero Animal Hospital to everyone!
