Dr. Castro and her staff are the most passionate reliable staff i have ever met. You can tell that they really care about your pets. And for those of you who disagree. For example if you do your home work and make sure the correct dosage and amount of medications are correct. Also what is helpful is to get your pet's urine and stool sample ahead of time to take to her office. Please take responsibility for your own pet then maybe you would see what i see. A very compationate and loving vet! It is up to the pet owners to over see and take care if your pets. Dr. Castro can't do it all. And for those of you who think she doesn't get back to you. That is so incorrect. Her staff will follow up within 24 hours. Remember she is not an emergency veterinarian. She is a veterinarian that works specific hours and cares deeply for pet patients. However in an emergency her staff will send you to another facility if the need arises.

I cannot say enough great things about this staff and the doctors. They are always super helpful and kind. I have been going to them for years with no complaints. I have had an issues with pets over the years and without an appointment they have welcomed us! Thanks to them for always being there and caring as much as they do!

Thank you all for treating Margaret so nicely. This poor dog has had it pretty rough and is scared of literally everything. Most vets wouldn’t even see her even though she doesn’t have a mean bone in her body! But you guys took the time to make her feel more comfortable and it meant the world to us. Truly appreciate it!!! This was Margaret at your office waiting her turn lol

I'm sadly lowering my review from 5 to 2 after seeing a couple of things on the wall in the waiting room. The sheet explained why their staff was not wearing masks and stated that masks don't work. Really? Isn't there a pandemic going on around here?

Everyone so helpful and great mannerism with my mutts. The vet gets down on the floor and loves in my dogs. Appreciate the sincere care of my "kids". If I had to complain, it would be if your needed an immediate appt for say an ear infection, im not sure they allow time for emergent cases

Dr Castro had been my vet for longer than I can remember. She was my vet for my police canine and was a full supporter of our unit. She is compassionate, knowledgeable and all about the animal's well being. Dr Castro is superb in her skills and works hard to provide honest and truthful pet care.

Doctor Castro, and the assistant, Heather who helped me with a unexpected situation...were great! They were very helpful and could safely assess the animal. It was a wild, soft shelled turtle. Luckily, we released it the same day. Thank you

Everyone is super nice. They really care about your concerns about your fur baby. You can’t find another Vet that REALLY CARES about your pet and go above and beyond to help your pet and help you help your pet!

Dr Castro saved my dogs life. Got us in on last minute notice due to a life threatening emergency, and 40+ staples later my baby is fully healed. Can’t thank her and her team enough ????

I was very nervous about taking my dog Jimmy to the vet as he doesn't take to strangers well. However, I was pleasantly surprised with how caring and mindful the staff was with him. He was very comfortable through his entire visit, and I'm happy to find our new permanent veterinarian

Took my little dog for ear and heartworm meds. Called today 3/23/21 because she is sick and am told she can’t get in until April ! Guess I need a new vet who cares about the animals.

Dr kim is an angel! Heather is amazing! We love it there. They saved 2 of our cats lives. One we thought for sure was going to die. An emergency vet sent him home to die with love. Dr. Kim did not give up and i am beyond happy to say he is better then ever, thanks to Dr. Kim. She is a real hero!

I really liked this vet for the care they give to the dogs however their customer service is atrocious. I have such a busy schedule and I accidentally forgot one of my dogs appointments and so I had to reschedule. (I apologized as much as I could because I know how aggravating that is and it was my mistake) So I made another appointment and Lindsey told me 10:45 arrival time (because I missed the last appointment I wrote down what Lindsey told me while I had her on speaker phone and repeated back to her to confirm) Fast forward to the day before the appt they called and I admit I was busy so when she called to confirm the time I just said yeah because I assumed nothing had changed, and if it did, she should of said that. For example: “it looks like I put you down for 10:45 but because your pet is a new patient he needs to be here at 10:30 instead” she claims that there was no communication issue but there absolutely was!! It started with her giving me the wrong arrival time when making the appt. And the fact that 15 mins is not enough time to do your data entry is ridiculous. My dogs appt wasn’t until 11!! But getting there 15 mins early isn’t enough and I must reschedule. My bf had to take off work for this appt and my dog was already on acepromazine because he has to be sedated for the visit. We weren’t even late! Just not 30 mins early. We’re going to a new vet, but they don’t care. They’re so booked that they don’t have time for caring about their customers. I’m just so upset over this because of the trouble we went through to get my dog to the visit and being flat out turned away because we weren’t early enough*.

They made a mistake with the liquid prescription medication and I ran out after 25 days instead of 50. They blamed it on me - that means I would have double dosed my dog, twice a day for 25 days. Dr Castro never called me to talk to me about what might have happened, and did not return my calls. They provided a refill in the same size bottle. This time I pulled up the doses in the bottle and counted them. I found my dog would run out in 25 days again. I notified Dr Castro via FAX because she wouldn’t return my calls. I have a new vet now. What really disappointed me was that Dr Castro has notices posted in treatment rooms about how she checks, double checks prescriptions- so don’t try to make excuses for missing medicine. I believed that and admired her for that. But it isn’t true, at least in two months of my dogs’ prescriptions. If not for the social distancing, I would have had her count the doses in front of me before taking that refill home. I am so disappointed in the lack of professionalism by Dr. Castro when I tried to get this straightened out. She not only refused to return my calls, but she threw away all of my correspondence to her regarding the prescription errors, according to her notes in my dogs medical record. She is a great vet, but I cannot trust her after this.

Best veterinarian in Florida!!! Dr. Kim Castro is such a genuine and experienced individual. My dog has bad anxiety and she made him feel very comfortable and didn’t do anything without consulting with us. Prices are extremely reasonable too. 10/10 Highly recommend this place!!!

The very best veterinary care....helped us 25yrs+...Dr Castro is an e'xcellent diagnostician and surgeon. The animals take to her..... They Know! She can deal with all creatures great and small..she has the patience of a Saint. We love her and deeply appreciate her goodness and mercy....

I’ve lived in the new Smyrna edgewater area since 1971. Married there , raised my child there and operated several businesses there as well .. I’m in Maryland due to an emergency and preparing to come back to edgewater . I was advised to call this vet service and kennel ANIMAL CLINIC OF EDGEWATER . I tried to explain what we needed for our 3 cats and all I could get was being put on hold numerous times and constantly talked over by some woman that loves to hear herself talk . The date of this event was 6/30/2020 at around 2:50 in the afternoon . I hung up after another 10 minutes of holding and never getting any help . And when the gabby woman came back to the phone , she was still talking and not listening to anything I was saying, and again she put me on hold . I then hung up and wrote this review . We have 3 great inside cats to kennel and they need shots , I can only guess this businesss is so great , they don’t have to be pleasant with anyone. If you’re going there , good luck . For the record , I never got vehemently upset or was cursing of threading at all .. I just don’t know what they’re problem is , and we’re still looking for a kennel with a vet .

Went in for rabies boosters. Scheduled day of and in and out in in a jiffy. Extremely nice staff. Would recommend!
