Deer Run Animal Hospital Deerfield Beach, Florida

After having a horrible experience with a mobile vet in Pompano, my husband and I decided to schedule our kittens spay and neuter with Deer Run Animal Hospital instead and I’m so happy we did! We are very pleased with the service we received and we felt comfortable leaving our kittens with them for their surgeries. Glad we found a great vet in our area!

I went in for a free check up offered from BACA The whole experience made me feel very uncomfortable from the moment I walked in the door. The receptionist was not very personable and a little rude. The Doctor also made me feel very weird. He tried to push getting vaccines for my cat in the future that is not NECESSARY. Also after seeing the doctor I went to get pricing for my kittens upcoming shots they were very pricey. I called my vet for price comparisons and it was a drastic difference. Overall it was a very uncomfortable experience and I will not be going back there. I highly recommend Quiet waters Animal hospital. Completely different experience

This animal clinic is out to over charge you. I have recently had a terrible visit at this location. After having provided my pet insurance and pet medical information to the front desk, I was lied to about what my insurance benefits were. After questioning my discount, I was again lied to about what my options were. After reluctantly applying party of my discount to my visit,I returned home to realize they had added extra expenses to make up the difference. If you have any other option, do not go to this animal clinic unless you want to be overcharged by incompetent work staff.

Misdiagnosed our beloved dog with “sore paw pads” when in fact she had osteosarcoma and her bones were literally deteriorating in her legs. Mets had moved to her lungs and heart. The veterinary office that actually diagnosed her told us she likely would have survived treatment of Deer Run had properly diagnosed her in the first place. Thanks for causing us to lose our baby, and also causing her extra pain.

My husband and I adopted a cat on Sunday from Broward County Animal Care and Adoption. We named her Fiona. She’s about a year old and had multiple pelvic fractures after what they assumed to be vehicular trauma. We chose Deer Run Animal Hospital for Fiona’s post-adoption vet visit and we are glad that we did. We initially scheduled an appointment for next week, but after noticing Fiona’s eye was a bit squinty, we assumed she might have conjunctivitis or a URI and called back to try to get her in sooner. The receptionist was very friendly and accommodating, and managed to squeeze us in for yesterday at 4:30pm. Due to Covid-19, Deer Run required us to call from our vehicle when we arrived, fill out a ‘new client’ form, and they would then take Fiona inside for her exam. We were advised that the doctor would then call us while we were inside our vehicle to discuss any findings or recommendations. We were pleasantly surprised when Dr. Lance came out to our vehicle instead to discuss Fiona. We ended up doing some follow-up x-rays and updating her vaccines. Her x-rays showed significant improvement on her hips, but she was full of poop (as we expected since she hasn’t yet used her litter box.) Dr. Lance gifted us some canned food and recommended a specific litter for Fiona to entice her to use the bathroom. We did just that, and she pooped overnight. Her Christmas gift to us. We called the hospital to update them, and Dr. Lance got on the phone with me directly. He is very genuine and caring. Most vets will just reiterate a message to a technician or receptionist for a client on the phone, so that was really nice. Pretty sure we found Fiona’s permanent vet. Thank you to Dr. Lance and staff at Deer Run!

Took care of our sick cat

12 1/2 yr old dog Juno had her first teeth cleaning. She won't otherwise open her mouth so we had to get it done. Had 9 teeth pulled. Dr. Shaaf did a great job, and both he and Dr. Lance were very responsible to our nervous inquiries. Definitely recommend, and much less expensive than for example, Coral Springs Animal Hospital.

AVOID taking your beloved pet here.. they haven't displayed true care and compassion for my dog in the almost 2 yrs. They just want your $$$. I shouldn't have stayed so long but I thought it would be such a hassle to find another vet since my dog suffers from many illnesses due to old age. Majority of the staff are not nice and only see you as a dollar sign. Highly reccomend Quiet Waters Animal Hospital where they truly care about your pet and treat them as their own.

Very rude doctor we took our new kitten here and she was fine once we took her here she got a parasite and the doctor called us ungrateful. I would never recommend anyone here

BEWARE Terrible experience. I took my dog here for the free exam that was provided to us through Broward County Animal Shelter after adopting our new dog. I ended up paying more than double the price for required vaccines and the vaccines my dog received were not explained to me. Heroes Veterinary Clinic is where we take out other dog and they are amazing. They truly love the animals and are not in it just for the money. I will continue going there moving forward.

Nice staff, good vets. First thing I noticed when I walked in is that the office smelled completely clean. There was zero animal odor. A very good experience!!

Reception is very nice. Dr. Lance lacks the genuine care I expected. He seemed more interested in selling what he thought my dog should have. Very uncomfortable interaction. I later spoke to one of my neighbors who also felt they are after to money and try to make you feel everything is wrong with you dog.

I never have to wait long when I get there,or to schedule an appointment. They also called to check up on Princess to see how she was doing. The doctors and staff have always been nice and helpful.

This little veterinarian office is quaint, well staffed. The Vets are thorough and truly seem to care and love the pets that come in for help. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and patient. I enjoyed the fact that they spread the appointments out so that the waiting room is never over crowded. I needed a urine sample from my female rescue, Lailai, but couldn't bend and squat fast enough to get one. One of the staff members came outside & patiently walked my dog with me until I got one - that was an unexpected surprise.
