Not very happy with my experience. Recently we took our dog in for skin problems, two weeks later and $800 no information. We took our dog to a national pet store for her nails and they instantly diagnosed the problem as a chicken allergy. Caution and ask a lot of questions about the bill before services, and they push pet insurance.

The professionals there showed genuine attention and concern for our pet. I'm happy to use their services.

T e r r I b l e. This vet has put my dog through misery because he simply can’t perform what he offered for my dog! Stay away please. He acts like he knows what he’s talking about but if he really did why would you have to come back for something multiple times if he knew what he was doing? Too many issues and complications to even explain here. By the time I would be done it would be pages long.

Dr. Abel Lera and his staff are wonderful! I took my two cats there for wellness exams and lab work. Dr. Lera spent a very long time with us discussing their health and what he recommended. He’s very conservative, but very thorough. He patiently answered all my many questions. He is very kind, has tremendous patience, and is extremely knowledgeable. Everyone on his staff is so friendly and genuinely love the animals. I highly recommend Dr. Lera. We were lucky to find him!

Based on all the great reviews I chose Dr Lera and his team to bring our new puppy Trinity. I can now see why the ratings were so high. I was amazed by the time Dr Lera spent with me and my young daughter answering every single question about our new puppy. The care and attention that was provided to us and our pet was simply amazing; way beyond what we expected. I look forward to many long years having Heron Lakes Animal Hospital taking care of our puppy as she grows.

Everyone at Heron Lakes Animal Hospital is so kind and professional. I can’t say enough about what a wonderful office this is, Dr. Lera is very caring, I have never known a Vet to take such time explaining what’s going on. He never seems rushed, to the point that he makes us feel like we are his only patients. We are very lucky to have them so close to home.

Dr Lera and his staff are very caring and understanding. If you have questions, they will take time to hear your concerns. We travel from Plantation because he's the BEST!!

It is a pleasure to write a review of Heron Lakes Animal Hospital. Dr. Lera and the team are very compassionate. From the first the day we called as a new patient, they got us into the schedule on the same day. My Maltese/Terrier Mix had suddenly lost weight within two weeks. We had no idea what was wrong with him. He was not eating and barely drinking water. During the treatment of my furry son, Dr. Lera explained everything thoroughly and took the time to make sure my furry son received the treatment he needed to find a diagnosis. He is caring, kind, patient, and understanding. He treated Milkyway as one of his pets! One of the most excellent veterinarians we have ever met by far. We are fortunate to have him in our community, serving our animals. Thank you, Heron Lakes Animal Hospital Staff, for giving Milkyway the best care he has ever received. We are so thankful you saved his life. Milkyway loves going to see everyone at the office. He is a thrilled boy, thanks to you guys!

Best vet in town! Great service and great care

We took our new kitten to Heron Lakes Animal Hospital for her first vet appointment. The staff and Dr. Lera were so nice and professional. Dr. Lera spent a lot of time talking to us and explaining things. What a wonderful practice.

Dr. Lara is great. He took a lot of time with me going over the basics of food, training, and what to expect with a new puppy. We also discussed out pet insurance as well as what things my puppy might be at risk for as he gets older. I would highly recommend Dr. Lara and Heron Lakes Animal Hospital. They were thorough, polite and loving to my pup!

This place was fantastic. Upon review, they were the first and only location to come up and they had an availability ready and easy for me to set up in a timely matter. They were kind and experienced. They provided plenty of detail and various options and answered any and all questions I had. Literally zero complaints! Lovely facility and amazing staff!!

Brought our dog with what we thought was an emergency and they looked at him right away, told us this issue and didn’t even charge us for the visit. So amazing this place, absolutely recommend and will be back again if we ever need to with our pups. Love this place. They really care about our pets more than anything else.

Our dog is a rescue and hes very difficult to handle, they are patient and so amazing with Sherman. We love the plae and get all of our dog food there. We have 3 dogs and they all go :)
