The worker was rude, didn’t want to let me see the dogs. Forced us out early because she had an appointment for a meet and greet while we were still trying to genuinely adopt a dog. Very upsetting, how many dogs and cats missed their forever home because they weren’t allowed to meet the animals?

I think they should charge less for adoption this pets will go to their forever home which the future owner will spend more money later on with insurance and medicine, but yet they adoption for 1 year old dog is 300 I don’t understand while most places is 125 for 3 months to 1 up anything older is 95 and puppy’s 2 months is 225 this sounds better .

I just want to say the employees here really care about the animals and get to know them. First impression was the intake person and he was able to give us honest opinions on the pups because he took the time to know them. We had our hopes set on the most adorable sweet chihuahua terrier mix but our Boston was just too hyper for her we had to them meet because they had made it a condition so they could monitor their interaction. They didn’t let them meet off leash which I think might of changed the tone of them meeting but the fact that they put the pets safety first and were so cautious seemed very considerate. It’s a sad place to visit I wanted to take all the pets home but it’s nice to know their best interest is being looked out for and they care where the pets end up. They’ve really been through enough already I wish people took on pets more seriously.

Everyone was amazing! Especially Aneshley, she was willing to answer all of my questions and helped me with everything I needed to be able to adopt this beautiful baby.

This is the best animal shelter in Pinellas County. I adopted my miniature poodle Charlie from them. My adoption counselor, Jennifer, was such a sweetheart. She made the process go smooth, answered all questions and overall she was great! She found my companion for life. Also the staff there are amazing, they make you feel like home. They answer all questions you have and if they are uncertain of any, they make sure to direct you to who can help you. I love this place!❤️❤️

Worse interaction ever…. Rude staff my wife asked to see other dogs the girls response was o no none of our dogs get along with kids or other dogs… Horrible set up for meet and greet wouldn’t let my dog near the other dog …. I will never go to this one again absolutely awful customer care On the description for clementine it shows her as interacting with other dogs the lady lied and said she’s never interacted with any dogs The delay from how long the volunteer wanted to keep both dogs separated mine and the one we wanted to adopt was to long by the time the other dogs from the shelter started barking my dog was barking at them instead of getting to meet the new one, the lady immediately said o no this kind of energy isn’t good at all this won’t proceeding to tell the other volunteer to get the dog out ….. My dog would have been great with her if she only had let them actually meet not kept them apart for ten min …. Only one staff member was good and helpful which is the girl that was taking our information down the rest of the interaction was terrible ….

Came to see if we could get a new addition to the family. Hanna was our adoption specialist. Hanna was amazing and educated us on the different cats and dogs. Really loved how she informed us who would be and wouldn't be a good fit. Sadly there were no perfect fits for us this time. Can't thank Hanna enough for the time that she took in the education she gave. Also excited about renovations and the new building.

My sister adopted a beautiful dog, Shala, from the Humane Society of Pinellas at Pinellas County Animal Services. Hannah and everyone who helped us out were so nice, it is so obvious they care about all of the dogs! Hannah was just extra awesome???? Shala is beautiful, sweet, loving....just perfect! I wanted to bring home Bingo, Luna, and Izzy, but I know they will go to wonderful homes.

I am out of the country. My friend went to put my 15-year-old doggie down who was very very sick and bleeding out. And the person that answered the phone laughed at her and said you're going to put somebody's family pet down.

Found this adorable little girl we named her Frieda, back in October. It was a long wait but well worth it! They are practicing covid safety and I really respect their procedure and explanation. Everyone was friendly and the gift shop was pretty cool. They offer a lot of services that are such an asset to our community... Helping pets to be available and affordable to more people... Having a dog or cat really changes a person's life. I highly suggest checking out all the services they offer if you're considering adopting.

Presently my financial situation changed. I am looking for a less expensive provider for my dog. I called them, and spoke to an unfriendly man. I explained my situation to him and he told me my options were to surrender my dog to them. They would do a medical exam and let me know if they would accept her. The other was to go to St. Pete for lower cost medical service. I am not clear where he was sending me but it was not one of their facilities. I thought what he said was bizarre at all levels: the Humane Society is known for helping to prevent animal homelessness. In the past this consisted of shelter, surrender and lower cost medical care. This approach makes sense at all levels. I went to their website and found out they had indeed closed the hospital part of their services. See Below: "The Pet Hospital of Pinellas is closed to the public effective February 19, 2021. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding and continued support of the Humane Society of Pinellas and our mission." They are now in the process of building a $3 million adoption shelter on-site. I hate to say it but based on my experience they are creating a demand for this service in out community. Please donate to organizations that have the interest of our animals in mind. Please let me know if you know of a lower medical cost practice in Clearwater.

Follow-up to owner's (name?) response. You don't get it. Your decision to close the veterinarian care part is creating an environment where the dog owner will have to surrender dog to you, which in turn proves to donors there is a need for your facility. Would you be so kind as to provide me with donor contact information for new shelter. Thank you. PS I was able to provide medical care for my dog. Fortunately for us she remains with me.

How much would an x-Ray go for?

Leslie

I spent $420 on x-rays, lab work, and exam for my 14 year old chow who has been coughing. I was told the X-ray results would be back in 24 hours. After 24 hours, I was told they would be back in 48 hours. After 48 hours, I was told it would …

If I could, I wouldn't give them a star rating. I had them hold two of my cats for two week... They separated them and adopted one of them out within a week. Never told me any updates or anything about what was going on. One was named Jack, the one that got adopted out. And the other is named sandstorm, she is on their website right now. Me and my fiance were gonna go and pick both of them up in a day or two.. y'all need to give me my cat's back, especially when you adopted my cat that I raised from a 6 month old without my consent.

I got my two cats from here and they are wonderful companions. It was a little sad that most of the cats in the shelter were black and when I asked why they said it was because no one wanted black cats because they take bad photos and superstitious reasons. After I heard that, I gladly adopted two black ones and raising them has been a wonderful joy ride.

Due to the covid precautions it wasn't a good experience. Never got to see the kittens because not enough staff to help. Left without a kittie.
