In case you are a first time visitor. You wait outside at the car while they take care of your best friend and keep you noted on everything vía phone calls and a worker that comes outside to you.

Our entire experience has been great! Dr. Stanton performed a beautiful surgical eye repair (along with neuter) on our puppy, Ricky. He looks as if there was never anything wrong! Just perfect! The staff are all friendly, caring and helpful. And the facility is nice and clean, too. Thank you all so very much for the amazing care you provided to Ricky and our family.

My fur babies and I love this place! Dr.Rex and all of the techs and staff are extremely personable, knowledgeable and friendly. They treat both myself and my babies like family whenever we go there. I would never consider going anywhere else!

Nice people, professional but expect to wait 30 min or more to be seen even if you're on time for your appointment. I get they are taking in more clients now but there is a reason you schedule appointments. If they can't handle the overflow they should schedule accordingly.

They care about their patients and go above and beyond for their care (I personally can't speak for everyone else)

I have been bringing my pets to Santa Cruz Animal Clinic for the last 10 years. The staff is very professional and they genuinely care about all the pets that they see. My last visit was for an emergency and they saw my dog with no notice …

The only negative reviews I am seeing are those complaining about wait times. Let’s talk about that for a second- because Santa Cruz definitely does not deserve anything less than a five star review. You all have to think that when COVID started, the amount of people obtaining pets SKYROCKETED. Santa Cruz, being as reputable as they are, gained a lot of new clients. Not to mention they aren’t a huge corporate chain like Banfield, where they can just pop up new locations to fit the demand of individuals who have pets and need a new vet for said pets. Be patient with them! Have some compassion, because they have all of the compassion in the world for your fur babies as well. Moving on to my personal experience, I have taken all of my angels to Santa Cruz for about 4 years now. I absolutely love Dr. B, Dr. Stanton, and Dr. Gordon. A special shoutout to Jane, Sarah, and Sandra who have always been so eager to help me. Just recently, I had to take my toy poodle in for an emergency, Sandra and Dr. Stanton got us in right away and they took such good care of my angel when she needed it most. I felt at ease knowing she was in the best care possible. Sandra kept me updated throughout the day, and Dr. Stanton called me a few times and kept me updated as well. I live almost 45 minutes from Santa Cruz, and would still never take my pets elsewhere. If you want a reliable, trustworthy vet, this is the place to go. They treat you and your pets like family. Thank you Santa Cruz, and thank you Dr. B, Sandra, Dr. Stanton, and the rest of the staff who all make sure our babies are happy and healthy.

My family has been going to Santa Cruz Animal Clinic since 1972 and have been well treated as have all my pets. We moved from the area for awhile but when we moved back, I had no doubt as to where my pets would be treated when necessary. The staff and Drs. are very caring, open about treatment and cost and I can highly recommend them

I have been a customer for over 15 years, and my cat needs emergency surgery. They were very RUDE, the receptionist HUNG UP on me…& did not even give me accurate info. about my cat. The receptionist said , “ your cat has always been sickly”… NOT TRUE…. My cat has always been very healthy! I asked to speak briefly to Vet… she would not allow me. This was a life threatening, and we are moving out of state in 4 days….. THEY HAD NO COMPASDION, VERY CURT & RUDE response from Vet assistant too, & receptionist actually hung up on me….I was being very nice too. Our cat came when my husband passed away, and I explained we were referred to them from an emergency clinic to do surgery ASAP! WE WRRE UP ALL NIGHT TO 4:30 am at emergency clinic who said out cat needs the surgery ASAP… Cystosony. I’m BEYOND UPSET!!!! DO NOT COME TO SANTA CRUZ CLINIC… THEY DONT CARE!!!!!

Love Dr. Stanton. Long wait times for appointments. 20 minute wait in car past appt time. Then at least 20 more minutes in room before being seen but Dr. Stanton is worth it.

I have been taking my Chocolate Lab here since he was 8 weeks old. The staff is very professional and caring. They are very thorough with their exams and they are affordable. The staff keeps you informed about your animals health. My puppy became ill one day and they saw him the same day. Once you get to your appointment the waiting time is very minimal for your puppy to be seen. If you want good care for your puppy Santa Cruz Animal Clinic is the place.

I had a very bad experience with Santa Cruz Animal Hospital back in 2017. I had been taking our sweet Dylan there every month or so for steroid shots from 2015-Nov 2017. Our family loved Dr. Gordon! In Nov 2017 Dylan’s condition was starting to worsen. Dylan was becoming immune to the steroid naturally but we were about to go on a long trip and I hated leaving Dylan in a deteriorating condition. Dr Gordon said if it seems like his relief is wearing off, come in Saturday and we will give him a little extra to get him through the time you’ll be gone. So Saturday comes, I call as soon as they open, and Jayne refuses to let us come in, even after I explained what Dr. Gordon had told me just days before. She curtly told me there were plenty other fur babies in need and they simply did not have the time in the schedule. After no success I asked Jayne to copy our medical file for both cats and I would be in shortly to pick it up so I could seek future care otherwise. The kicker, as I’m standing at the desk, I hear Jayne on the phone telling someone if they could hurry up, they could fit them in. I couldn’t believe it, it made no sense. I asked her why and she had no response. We never had an issue before that but that was enough. I’ve never gone back.

I now understand previous reviews from others. Horrible, nasty, atrocious staff. Waiting in the parking lot on hold for over 20 minutes to check in and pick up pet meds. Stuck my head in the door (wearing a mask) I told them I understood they were busy and that I just wanted to let them know I was there. Finally had one of the girls come out screaming at me and threw the bag of meds inside my open window. When I asked her not to yell at me, she responded with “F-You” and walked away. Furious, I jumped out the car responding to her and hoping to talk to a manager when she ran inside and locked the door. When I called the next day and spoke to the manager, she was just as rude and refused to do anything about it. Based on the way they treat customers, I can only imagine how they treat your pet behind closed doors.

Covid has ruined this once fine vet. They are almost impossible to reach on the phone, and when you do there is an excessive hold time. Once you get there you have to call (see above how much trouble that is) and then they "check you in" to wait in your car for them to come out and get your pet. I waited today 45 minutes past my appointment time to no avail. I had another appointment so I had to go. It's pretty simple folks - if you are running late let your (paying) customers know. It's called common courtesy. We will find another vet for our pet.
