Called in to put a pet down unexpectedly and they gave me an estimate of "a couple hundred dollars" when I asked for clarification on the cost they hung up. Not only do I have to deal with my grief but rudeness as well. I WILL NOT be seen here or talk them again.

I went to this place a few months ago for two kittens I had because they were throwing up. They talked more about money then the actual care of my animals.. didn't give any suggestions, information, or feedback on the issues. The one doctor we saw there was incredibly creepy and uninformative. This clinic should be shut down and the "professionals" here should feel ashamed of themselves. Please don't bring your babies here...

Took my Frenchie in last night. Wow. No empathy and extremely expensive! You can tell all they care about is making money. Very good using scare tactics! People shouldn’t have to deal with this.

My parrot had declined rapidly on Christmas Eve. I went in knowing something was very wrong with him. The staff at the Brandon Blue Pearl was very kind and awesome with his transition to his next journey. They offered so much help and kept checking in while I waited for results. I highly recommend them.

Karen and the rest of the staff are great. We are hopeful about the new meds that the internist has prescribed for our 5 month old corgi. Thank you!

This places feeds their pockets off peoples heartbreaks. Extremely more expensive than anyone around. No beside manner. No empathy. When we told them that we would gladly pay 4K for my fur baby to stay with them overnight if they could promise she would be alive in the morning we were told to “think about putting her down” save the money and the tears and go across the street. Wayyyyyyy better establishment.

Sadly I had to visit today with my pregnant guinea pig "GINGY" . She had huge belly and most of the time was laying down because of the big and tiredness but moving and eating, but today she didn't want to eat her lettuce that she love, and had frizz phurr, so I start looking for help I suspect something was wrong, here they didn't have an ultrasound to see if the babies where alive, X-rays was around $500, and if an "exotic vet" had to be call to do surgery on her was like $4000 and I couldn't afford it and with my heart broken and crying me and my kid had to leave, they only said that she was with low temperature and nothing else, we explain that she was having some mocus coming from her eyes and nose and never before, and this was her second pregnancy, but no medication neither was sent to her, because I suspect some infection she may had, later hours even when I buy her a heat light not work it, she died , and we press her belly trying to save the babies but no luck, she had 4 dead babies, is so sad to loose your pets because you can not afford the expensive help for thems ???? this is why nobody wants pets because you don't want to see thems suffer or died, and even hen I have other guinea pigs, I love them all and this one was my girl favorite ???? tomorrow is going to be really hard and sad for her and I still crying ????

Unless you have a million dollars in the bank I suggest you do not go to this Vet Hospital. I was charged three thousand dollars for just one night for my dog only to have him put down the following day. They are crooked and need to be shut down.

It's taken me a while to write this, but feel it's necessary for others. Initial visit, everyone was kind, but totally dismissive of the signs and symptoms of our pet. Even though I am a nurse and described what was going on with my elderly mother's beloved dog, they completely rushed us and blamed it on a bad hip. Even though we reported black, tarry stools, nausea and vomiting. Sent us home with Gabapentin and an injection. Not even a week later, my mom's baby was brought back there and was told his abdomen was filled with blood and there was nothing to do but euthanize him. I would only recommend this place if there is nothing else available for a pet in a dire emergency.

BluePearl did 3 ultrasounds and an endo on my pup before finally diagnosing him with IBD. You consult internal med specialists for their expertise and partner with them throughout their findings. I was given a treatment plan, that ultimately ended up not working, as most times you’ll go through several treatment plans and adaptations before finding a plan that does provide relief. Your internal med specialist is the one that is to guide you through this. I left the state, and after initial treatment plan didnt work, Dr. Otte refused to work with me beyond that because she is too incompetent to read scientific lab reports done elsewhere, as her excuse is “iT WaSnT DoNe hErE, aNd I dIdNt SeE PeT”…. Because apparently visualizing my pet would change the blood results? She then proceeded to tell me she cant call in scripts across state lines (which I never asked for to begin with), but yet she calls in scripts to online pharmacies daily not in her state. When I called her out on this blatant lie, as I have had meds filled across the country, she then states “good for you, I dont feel comfortable calling in a script”….. Which again, I never even asked for so why this rabbit hole was being approached is beyond me. She’s clearly not a bright specialist. And her pivots to try to keep from exposing herself and her lies are amusing. Dr. Otte is a robot, then only thing she did was the procedure to send samples off. I got my results from a lab, and she clearly has no idea how to work with those results. I got the feeling from the beginning when I was preparing for a “whats next” approach in case results came back inconclusive, and she wouldnt provide me with answers. She also refuses to talk to her clients, she lets her nurses do all that for her, under the guise its her as they dont introduce themself as any different over the phone. I know this specifically as once I figured out it was a nurse, I asked for Dr. Otte. I was told she left and she couldnt magically produce her doctor, yet when I talked to Dr. Otte days later and informed her of what her nurses were saying over the phone, she informed me she was sitting right beside her. These are the types of lies you’ll encounter with this group at BluePearl in Brandon FL. Do yourself a favor and go to the one in Tampa or seek another avenue. Dr. Otte and her crew are completely incompetent, ego driven bodies in the wrong field

My poor bunny passed away in the car on the way because the UrgentVet close to home refused to see us. The staff at BluePearl were so kind and compassionate and did all they could to ease our pain. I can’t thank you enough for your kindness.

Money grabbing soulless organization. They care more about draining your bank account than the well-being of your pet. The only reason for the one star in this review is because this system won't allow zero or negative stars.

ZERO STARS. Friday evening we checked in over the phone from our home answering all questions about us, dog and issue of concern (possible broken leg) at 5:47pm. Were told if we came right away it the wait time wouldn't be that bad. We arrived at BluePearl at 6:17pm parked in space #11 and checked-in that we had arrived. Waiting and waiting in a hot car with an injured dog. At 7:16pm, one hour later we finally received a call that there was a 2hr wait, yes you are seeing this correct, a 2HR WAIT to see a Doctor, please note that is, if and ONLY if, no one else comes in with an urgent need. Why they waited a full hour to inform us of this chaos is beyond comprehension. We left and took our dog home, went to urgent care at 1st available appt early the next morning after checking in online at the UrgentVet in Brandon. Spent $230 and were seen within 15 minutes after arriving. We were in and out, service was wonderful at the UrgentVet. BluePearl-Brandon used to be on the top of their game. Nothing but downhill for service, value, and keeping your informed. I hope they make some much needed changes soon and staff appropriately to serve clients. Its not the Docs, its management and operations that are failing miserably and lacking transparency for treatment times.

My cat was found to have a diaphragmatic hernia with some of his organs in his chest by his regular vet who sent us here right away. Dr. Weeren evaluated him immediately and did the surgery the same day. My boy stayed for two nights and the whole staff was super nice, attentive, and patient with me while I tried to figure out how I was going to foot the $7500 bill (what can you expect from an emergency vet.) Surgeons were very communicative and kept me updated with his recovery and the staff has been happy to answer any and all of my questions while he was there and since he came home. Other than the price, which was expected, I had no issues with this place!

Brought my dog in at 2pm and they put off her appointment again and again until the next appointment of 2am. Decided to pick her up and go to other hospital that has the time to give my dog medical care....sad.

If I could give no stars I would. I took my dog here twice in the span of 48 hours because she had been screaming in pain from what appeared to be something with her leg. After the first visit we were told it was just arthritis and was given some anti-inflammatory medication and a pain med. Overnight she got worse and with every move was yelping in pain. We brought her back the next morning to get looked at further thinking that something was missed in the initial visit. They took her back and brought her back out 30 minutes later walking on a leash and insisted she was fine because she was walking fine even thought she was still lifting her paw in pain as the vet tech was speaking to us. We decided to get a second opinion and sure enough she had a slipped disk in her neck! This was found within 30 minutes of being at another office . This place insisted that she was fine and if anything it was from an overgrown nail that was touching her paw (we got this taken care of during the first visit) and arthritis. There was also a heart murmur that was detected during her visit but we were never made aware of until reviewing the discharge papers at home. If you love your pets like we do please DO NOT GO HERE. Take them to a place that will properly assess them and not just brush off your concerns as arthritis and a overgrown nail.

Thank you Blue Pearl Vet for your Emergency Service. A+ service from Erin for helping us out in such a scary moment. We truly appreciate you saving our little one.

First I was extorted for 125$. Then we were told she would need emergency surgery totaling 5000$. Then we were told she could get by with an I/V costing 500$. Then go to our regular vet for the surgery. I should have read the reviews before taking the drive. I will also be filing a complaint with the Royal College of Veterinary surgeons. As I was leaving the vet tech was trying to explain the commissions of the Veterinarians. I didn't have the energy to listen to him babbling. These are some greedy people that take advantage of people when they are vulnerable.

I can't say enough amazing things about Blue Pearl Brandon and Dr. Emma Byers. Our doodle injured his leg and we took him in to have it looked at. She was SO compassionate and very helpful. The entire staff was great. I was so nervous because of covid protocol and not being able to stay with him but they put me so at ease and made the process super fast and simple. I can't recommend them enough.

So I’ve been here two times for two different dogs and I think from my experience they were caring, respectful and budget conscious. I’m glad that I took my dogs to their ER. I didn’t find the price to be too outrageous and they do offer military discount which was nice.

Wonderful team, great service, compassionate and caring while dealing with a severely injured feral cat my little sister found. They even sent a follow up text and photo to go along with the story about him “living at the vets office” when he had to be put down. Cannot recommend them enough.

I just became a first time pet owner and they did a fantastic job explaining to me what I’ll see, what I need to do and where to go. They took their time explaining everything to me. I will definitely be coming back. I love the service there

Blue Pearl Vets were some of the nicest and caring people we have met in the Brandon/Valrico/Seffner area. Our cat had not been eating the last few days and started to collapse and become lethargic. On Thursday evening we knew something serious was wrong so we took him in to see the emergency vet, many places said they were at capacity and would be a long wait. Blue pearl mentioned a long wait but due to the severity of his symptoms, they brought him in right away. Unfortunately, our cat passed within a few minutes of getting to the vet and there was nothing they were able to do, but they comforted us and gave us a room to say our goodbyes. They even placed him in a casket box and wrapped him up nicely. It was too late for our cat, but they were very compassionate to the situation and helped us through it. We wish there was more they could have done or we could have, but we thank them for their hospitality and kindness.

Took our family pet in due to an emergency, not eating/drinking and lethargic. We spoke to Dr. Tara Keaney who was GREAT. She provided a detailed diagnosis, listened to our concerns and provided alternatives. She made us feel more like “family” than a pet owner. The location should not only be proud of her but the entire Staff.

I would give them a minus score! Our dog was attacked by another dog. Took her to Blue Pearl Emergency - nightmare! Wouldn't let my husband come in to calm her down and open her mouth to be examined - even after being given a sedative - so $323 and no mouth examination for loose tooth sticking out of mouth. Brandon Lakes Animal DID let husband in, examined ALL of dog, removed tooth. Worth every penny!!

Brought our dog here and they said our best option was to put him down. Just hospitalizing him was $4200 for the night without even doing anything to figure out how to help him. This was simply just hospitalization and pain meds with zero …

If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. BIRD PARENTS: BEWARE, this location does NOT have an avian vet. They won't tell you this until AFTER they charge you the $125 emergency room fee. If your bird is sick, PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY coming to this location. All they will do is take your money and tell you, "yes, your bird is sick. Seek an avian vet to get more information. Now pay $125." Now I see why this location has such low ratings. A vet like this should honestly get shut down. They care more about taking your money than they do about caring for your beloved pets. Absolutely worst experience I've ever had.
