Amazing staff and Vet's! I had to take my 10 month old Vizsla here for an emergency visit after her drinking pond water and getting sick. They ran blood work and did fecal samples to then find a parasite. She was also very very dehydrated so she received an IV. Our little V loved all of the staff there and was feeling better in no time! We cannot thank everyone here enough for taking such great care of her. Another thing we love about them is receiving a full two page write up about our visit from the second we walked in till we left. The care your pet will receive here outweighs any wait time. (first picture is in the exam room with the liquid in her back to hydrate her, second photo is getting home and finally getting some sleep now that she was feeling better)

I started here as an emergency & very quickly requested that my dog's records be transferred as a regular patient. Lola was an older pet with some health issues, this staff was always so caring! Even if we were just in for a regular service, Lola would walk right in on her own! Lola loved the staff & I think she knew she was in good hands. Eventually Lola passed & I couldn't imagine having a more supportive group of people to get me through that very painful day as well as the time following. When Gia came along It was not a second thought who I would choose to provide her care. I only want the best for my pets and in my opinion I have found that.

I’ve had some bad experiences with urgent care facilities in the past, and I was so pleasantly surprised with this facility! I brought my dog in after being mauled by another dog, and they saw him immediately. I was quickly put into an exam room and the doctor came to talk to me as soon as she did a thorough assessment on my pet. I was treated kindly in my moment of distress and my dog peaches has made a full recovery!! This place was boring but wonderful and even called to check on my pet.

Based on her experience today I wish these guys were closer. They were very friendly and prompt in helping my dog who had been stung. They gave her an injection and she’s already doing much better. They were calm, prompt, courteous, speedy, and helpful. Unfortunately they are almost 40 minutes away from my house so I probably won’t be back unless I can’t find another ER closer to me that we like. Hopefully we don’t have too many more emergencies, but if we do I know these guys are dependable at least for non-complicated emergency. Update: I took my dog to a second Urgent vet today because her face was bleeding and they said Benadryl alone was not enough. They have shaved her face down and found severe bruising. They will give her antibiotic and steroids and are running blood work as I type this. This could have been a snake bite they say! Not happy the vet at Companion did an incomplete work up!!!

We have a black lab and she is a heaping cup of energy. Upon arriving we were greeted with kindness and their full attention. A quick vet check up and we were out the door. I Highly recommended. This is more than an urgent care, they are your everyday Vet too!

If I could leave no stars I would. We called because our cat was having trouble breathing. We were told it would be an $80. For her to be seen. We got there and were told her situation was urgent and the charge was now $110. Then she came back and said it was $105. They said the money needed to b paid upfront for our pet to be seen. We paid it. After a little while we were informed it would cost 800 for a diagnosis. She was on oxygen and was doing better. So I asked if they could keep her stabilized till morning so we could take her to our vet. I was told they don’t keep them overnight and if she continued to need oxygen she would have to be transferred to the animal hospital and we would b looking at a bill for $1500. So please tell me why I would pay them $800 to transfer her??? My sister is a disabled vet with a family. Her cats are her comfort and she was told payment had to b made upfront they were not willing to work with her. My sister was just heart broken. We have her home and will bring her to our vet that we TRUST first thing in the morning. This experience was such a disappointment!

The RECEPTIONIST should have no contact w humans much less an animal. My dog is in agony and she is a nasty hateful person. Just the manner in which she talks to you is horrific. This lady need a job in a cubical fixing her attitude. Sad! She should be removed. YOU ARE A NASTY HUMAN!!!!!!!!

The doctor spent a long time explaining a new medical finding on my dog. I also had many questions about flight requirements and the whole staff went out of their way to help. The front desk staff member even called the airline to try to get more info. Talk about above and beyond. Thank you for your time today!

I had a good experience with this vet!! They were so great with my dog Rosey!! She was nervous at first but the staff were all patient and kind and made her feel at home(the treats helped too????) Not sure if I would recommend because my situation is terrible and I feel that some type of test could have been done to find out the actual cause. Update as of 10/2/21 my dog has gotten much worse. The diagnosis was not right. I believe my dog has a severe case of mange and it spread all over. I'm out of money and I'm starting to worry that she's going to die. I had a feeling the diagnosis was wrong when we were here and I should've said something but I didn't. Not sure what's going to happen but so far it's heartbreaking to watch and I feel like there's nothing I can do????

I have been here twice and me and my dog leelu love the staff. Leelu’s Dr is one of the most kind vets I have met, Leelu is terrified of any vet but the Dr. does her best to not push her to where she is too stressed out, I would highly recommend you go to Dr. Ambrose!

Do not go here. The staff is dishonest and misleading with wait times (I was there for two hours). What is worse was the attention given to us **after I sought out the doctor myself**…I was told she was in the back-room “typing,” so I said I’d take my dog outside to go to the bathroom. At that time the doctor popped out of the back-room to see me…coincidence? They are quick to get your $80 up front however before your pet is seen… After almost 2hrs of waiting to be seen by the doctor, I was finally greeted with a contentious attitude; don’t ask her too many questions! To the staff; be upfront about waiting times and to the doctor; find a way to change your attitude, if you are overworked that is not your client’s fault.

Emergency visit on 09/7/21. 2 Yr old pup had a cut his foot at 9:30 A.M., after several hours of trying to stop the bleed and waiting for this clinic to open up at 12 per our vet (who was unable to see us), was told by the incredibly rude receptionist (Maria) that they did not see animals until 1 p.m. Our dog was there with a bandage and plastic bag on his foot bleeding through with blood in the bag and the Receptionist, Maria, told me I could google other places to go if I didn't like it here. I reluctantly stayed. I was taken into a room at 12:30 P.M. and I paid my $80.00 consult fee before seeing the vet. The vet tech ended up seeing my pup shortly thereafter, along with the doctor and they took him back at 1:00 pm to sedate him and stitch him and was told by the vet that it would be approximately two house, and I said I would wait for him. I also advised the receptionist that I would be waiting in my vehicle for him. At 3:15 I called in (unable to go in because of CVD) and the receptionist was rude when I asked for an update, asking "did they call you" - NO and that they were going to be bringing him back from anesthesia soon. At 3:54 P.M. I called again and she said he wasn't ready yet. I asked when would he be finished because at 3:15 I was told he was being brought back from anesthesia. At that time, the receptionist told me "I told you to go home and we will call you" I reminded her that I chose to wait as I live to far away to make multiple trips and I have been here all day. I did not want to leave my dog there as it literally felt like he was being held hostage, I could not go in and I had no updates on my dog. I told her I just want to get my dog, pay my bill and leave. She of course got mouthy and said that I was rude to her because I didn't like what she told me. She was very rude from the time I arrived, in collecting the payment, answering the phones and throughout my entire visit. There is no communication which is huge problem. I ended up leaving and arrived in my driveway at 4:36 P.M. in Palmetto near the skyway. Maria called me at 4:55 P.M. to tell me that he was ready. I would NEVER leave a child with these people and I felt like I left a helpless dog in the hands of this monster. I will NEVER return there, not even to have his stitches removed for another $80 office visit. The vet tech and veterinarian were nice, however the receptionist should clearly never have a front of the house job. Her personality is better left to the back of the house where she does not have any client interaction. We had previously gone to the Bradenton ER vet on Manatee Avenue and they were fantastic. DO NOT GO TO COMPANION VENTERINARY URGENT CARE! IT IS TERRIBLE! FIND ANYWHERE ELSE TO GO.

There should be a Zero option on this review. I took my cat there today because he appeared to have suddenly lost his eyesight. When I completed the paper work, I was told to wait in the lot for a call to go inside. Then the receptionist called me again to say my pet couldn't be seen today due to an emergency surgery. No other pets had entered the clinic since my arrival. This happened about 1 PM. The clinic is open until Midnight and the vet can't see my pet before closing? The receptionist merely directed me to another ER. In other words, "Take a hike." A man then went to the office door with his dog and filled out paper work. After he finished, I asked him if he was told that he couldn't be seen today. He was told he would have to wait two hours---a long time, but he wasn't turned away. So this ER selects which clients it wants to see. This review is consistent with many other negative comments.

The worst of experience. I arrived at 6:30 and left at 8:30 and still no vet. The receptionist told me my penmanship needed to improve. I am 72 and never had anyone have a problem with my penmanship. I arrived ahead of three other clients that were seen before me.

My dog and I were attacked by a Pitt bull and the vet was the closest and was recommended. Well I won’t be back. First and foremost they don’t take pet insurance. I had been bleeding from the attack and asked for a bandage and they refused to give me one. No one is allowed inside (due to COVID) however there are actions that can be place so that I don’t have to drop my dog off and leave, it would have been nice to have seen them adjust to the new mandates regarding COVID and allow at least 2 or 3 people in. I paid $80 for the exam just for her to be seen and then another $131 for her medicine. I won’t be back. I would need to find a vet where giving a bandage is not a problem! Like where is the decency ?

The doctor was wonderful, compassionate and kind, but the receptionist was so rude that she ruined our first time visit there so badly we won’t be back regardless of the lower cost. Shocking they would have someone like her in place.

If I could give NEGATIVE FIVE stars here I would! When going over the reviews here I thought that there was no way the receptionist could possibly be that RUDE! But YES!! she's 100 times worse than anybody has posted here!! UNBELIEVABLY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL!! I have no idea why she is still employed there after reading countless negative reviews about her. The vet on call was very nice and professional, the exact OPPOSITE of the receptionist.. I will NEVER go there again.

Dr. Ambrose and her staff are top notch! We have been to a couple animal urgent care and ER centers in the area and this place was wonderful! The entire staff was incredibly nice, very communicative (never had to wonder what was going on), and they gave excellent care to my fur baby! I can’t say enough great things! Please don’t let negative reviews due to lack of funds etc deter you. I assure you they are empathetic and love animals, but nobody can work for free. I’m sure there could’ve been a plan put in place because they get it!

What an absolutely outstanding hospital! I have brought my pets to see Dr. Ambrose and Dr. Sarver many times now. From minor issues like diarrhea, to being there with me when my beloved Francis took his last breath, these were the most compassionate, loving group of professionals I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Their wait time can be long if you are visiting for a minor issue, especially if a dying pet comes in, but the quality of care is like no other

I went here during the peak of covid and was made to feel absolutely horrible and neglectful as an owner bc I did not have $600 for him to be held overnight. Only person remotely sympathetic as I was hysterically crying and pleading for my dog to be seen was the person working the front desk. Bring your animal anywhere else bc they do not care whatsoever
