Everyone was very knowledgeable and professional. They kept us informed throughout all stages of our cats procedure. Dr. Lewis is extremely talented and experienced in animal dentistry. He was available via text to answer any concerns we had during recovery which was very comforting after hours.We traveled 3hrs to have him do our cats extractions and highly recommend his practice????????????

VDS is top notch. The caring and professionalism of this team is paramount. I found myself in a very difficult situation with my 14 yr old cat and the assistant and doctor both took extra time with me to explain everything. I highly recommend this practice!

Very thankful for Dr. Miller and Vicky and the rest of his staff! I brought my old English sheepdog sir Winston to Dr. Miller with a tooth and gum issue that was very critical and without hesitation he and his staff assessed the situation in amazing detail and took the steps necessary to correct the situation and to bring my boy to complete restoration of the issue. He and his staff explained every little detail from the beginning to the end of the procedure which saved his life! I highly recommend this veterinary specialist for anyone who has issues with their pets!! I am very thankful that Dr. Miller and his VDS team are only within 15 minutes of me. I was referred to Veterinary Dentistry Specialists after noticing that my French bulldog had a mass in her mouth. Dr. Lewis as well as all the staff are extremely compassionate and caring. They're very thorough from taking the history on my girl to keeping me informed of her progress all through the surgery to calling and checking on her recovery. I couldn't be happier and as a General practice veterinarian I now know where I can refer my patients if the need arises.

Oh my goodness. I have no idea what I would have done without VDS. Not only is it obvious that Dr. Lewis is a very skilled and knowledgeable surgeon, but the customer service is above and beyond. We were visiting my mother in PA, and my dog bit a moving motorcycle wheel at high speed. It was ugly. Bloody. Not good. We brought her to an emergency vet and had her admitted, only to find that their dental specialist had just retired. We had to head back to MD. I was devastated. The hospital kept her comfortable while I searched for a solution near the hospital on Google maps. We found VDS and called immediately. The website stated that it was by appointment only, but they said they could handle it the following day despite a full surgery schedule. The hospital wouldn't respond to calls/requests for updates. Instead, VDS called the hospital and then called me to provide updates. I was so grateful. The surgeon called me twice before the surgery to update me about the course of action. Talking to him felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. He answered every single question I could think of about caring for her after surgery, and he didn't make me feel like I was a moron or bothering him. He called me again after surgery to let me know everything had gone well. When she got home, I was given very detailed after-care and medication instructions. She was wagging her tail and able to eat and drink right away. I'm so grateful that we happened upon VDS. The one and a half hour drive is worth it.

Highly highly recommend Dr. Lewis and all of the staff!!! My dog needed a dental with an anesthesiologist on staff due to potential heart issues. From start to finish they were compassionate, thorough and professional. They went out of their way to make us informed and comfortable. No surprise charges or "upsells" - in fact the final bill came in under the estimate! Most importantly I know my baby was cared for by the best. Thank you so much to Dr. Lewis and everyone in the practice!!!

If you have an animal in need of treatment, go here! Our dog was suspected of having a malignant mouth tumor. Dr. Lewis and his team got us in the next day for a consult, was extremely open and communicative, and efficiently got the tumor biopsied and operated on. We have our sweet baby back and she is almost all healed! Dr. Lewis was very thorough, shared information to help us understand the diagnosis, and even responded to texts over the weekend after our dog’s surgery. I am blown away by their kindness and service. The cost of the operation was even less than I thought! Again I can’t recommend this practice enough!

I can’t express my gratitude to Dr Lewis and his amazing staff for the care they have given to my dog, Cali. She had an aggressive tumor in her lower jaw. Dr Lewis was able to remove the tumor with clean margins and within a couple of days she was back to being the naughty beagle she always was. Yes, part of her lower jaw has been removed, but she is still beautiful and most importantly happy and healthy. If you find yourself in the difficult circumstance of needing dental surgery for your pet, I recommend this practice with all my heart. I couldn't have been happier with the service received for my dog from start to finish. My dog had an emergency and needed to be seen right away- the staff was compassionate and attentive to fit him in quickly. The day of his procedure, I was kept up to date on what to expect, as well as text message updates throughout his 3+ hour surgery. It was very assuring to know he was in such good hands. The doctor was informative with his explanations of what was going on. I definitely felt he received the best care possible and extra effort was made to keep him comfortable. I would recommend 100%.

My family and I could not be more pleased with VDS - they have been great from start to finish! Our older doggie had a very aggressive tumor growing in her face. She was originally diagnosed by another specialist who was unable to continue her treatment due to timing constraints. The original specialist referred us to Dr. Lewis, citing him as an expert in the field and even more qualified than he. Dr. Lewis explained the risks of the procedure and also set very realistic expectations about what to expect after the procedure in regards to quality of life and necessary future treatments. I always felt like Dr. Lewis kept our girl's quality of life at the forefront and that he genuinely cares about her. It was a tough recovery at first - Bella had to remain heavily sedated for a few weeks and the tumor was so large that our girl's face looks different because such a large portion of her mouth had to be removed (which Dr. Lewis prepared us for). Despite all of that - when we brought her back to Dr. Lewis and Vicky for her follow ups, she perked up when we got to the parking lot and happily trotted inside with them! This is a dog that hides under the chair in the waiting room at our normal vet's office - I was shocked! For our dog to have gone through such an invasive procedure and to react the way she does to Dr. Lewis, Vicky and their staff at follow up appointments makes me think she knows they saved her life! Other posters have cited the practice's responsiveness. I can not agree with and/or emphasize this point enough. I have never had better follow up from any business - ever. Much less a medical practice. The VDS team texted us every day for the better part of a week post-op (even on a weekend). We tried to be good and not text every time we had a question...but the few times we did, we received a response within minutes. From a medical practice! Based on my experiences with human medical care, I just couldn't believe it. We are looking forward to following up with VDS after we establish a course of treatment with an Oncologist. Thank you Dr. Lewis, Vicky, Alyssa for saving our Bella's life!

I cannot recommend Dr. Lewis and his staff highly enough. They have been taking care of our 13 week old puppy who has an overbite for several weeks now. They are knowledgeable, caring, professional, and friendly. We feel very fortunate to have them caring for our dog.

Best place to take your pet to ensure the best quality care. They are very kind and helpful. They are not there to take your money compared to other places. They actually care about your pet and its health.

My husband and I couldn't be happier with Veterinary Dentistry Specialists. One of the best customer experience we've ever had. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and the personal touches go a long way. Our dog Romeo had to get his tooth extracted, and they took care of him as if he was their own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This place is AMAZING! I wish I could rate TEN STARS! The staff was so amazingly warm and compassionate toward my dog that I cried! I cried because I never ever felt so confident leaving my dog in his scared state of surgery. The nurse whom affectionately referred to herself as ‘Aunt Vickie’ to my dog made me feel so reassured that my fur baby was in the best possible hands. I cried because I was happy, content, and sure my fur baby would be better in a few hours. The assistant who scheduled me for the appointment was beyond professional. She was respectful, informative and prompt! Unfortunately I did not get to meet the woman behind the call who handled everything so amazingly well from scheduling my pet and providing all pertinent information needed for his surgery... I would like her to know...Thank You! She was respectful from the beginning at hello to the very end at thank you! I am so grateful for your professional business! The staff who performed the surgery for my dog...you all are a wonderful blessing! My fur baby had all his teeth removed and when I tell you he walked out the door on his own four legs with a smile on his face (yes he still looked fresh out of surgery lol), he looked pain free! I cried again! Dr. Lewis and his team did an amazing job. There is not enough ways to say thank you! We can't say enough great things about the VDS team! Dr. Lewis, Keri, and Vicky were absolutely fantastic with our 5 month old puppy who had to have dental surgery. We were so nervous to have Bocce undergo such a big surgery and Dr. Lewis' team made us feel so at ease. We couldn't have been happier with our experience, starting with our initial conversation with Keri to set up a consultation and appointment. She was so friendly, understanding, and accommodating, knowing it was a surgery that needed to happen quickly. She helped calm our nerves from the start. Upon arriving for Bocce's surgery, Vicky was so comforting and once again helped answer our questions and calm our nerves surrounding such a big experience for our young puppy. She was able to send us updates throughout the day as we waited for Bocce to be out of surgery. I actually cried because of how wonderfully they were treating us and how much they cared about us feeling comfortable about leaving Bocce for the day. Dr. Lewis was amazing - we completely trusted him to take care of our boy and knew we were in the best hands possible. He again made us feel confident and comforted knowing he would be able to help Bocce and would take the best possible care of him. We drove all the way from North Jersey, nearly 3 hours away, to have Dr. Lewis see Bocce. We would make the trip again in a heartbeat if we needed to just because of how amazing Dr. Lewis and his team were for us, knowing that Bocce would be in the best hands possible. We would absolutely recommend Dr. Lewis and the VDS team to anyone needing any type of dental surgery for their pet! You won't regret it, they are THE BEST!

We were referred to Dr. John Lewis from our primary vet Dr. Amy Kidd. Dr. Lewis took the time to explain our dog Willow's condition and what to expect during and after the surgery. He is a very caring and patient doctor and is highly knowledgeable in the field of dentistry. Willow was 16 years old at the time of her surgery and given only two months to live. Dr. Lewis performed a left mandibulectomy to remove the cancer and today Willow is a chow hound and running and playing with her sisters and brothers. We would definitely recommend Dr Lewis. He was very engaged in numerous follow ups on Willow's condition.

Couldn't have asked for a better group of people to work with. My 5 month old puppy was bit and the bone under her eye was severely fractured, they were able to fit me in the day after I called. An extremely compassionate group of people. They made my puppy feel right at home and kept me updated throughout the day on her progress with her surgery. Also very reasonably priced for my particular situation. Would HIGHLY recommend! Thank you so much for everything you all do!

If I could give Dr. Lewis, his colleagues and staff more stars I would. Our experience working with Veterinary Density Specialists has been excellent. Dr. Lewis and his team were extremely patient with our GSD, informative about their process and the procedures they would be performing (root canal, cleaning temporary crown and finally a titanium crown) and answered all of our questions. Our dog can be crate reactive so they allowed us to bring him early, give him a tranquilizer so he’d fall asleep with us and called us back before he woke up to have him wake up to us. During the procedures, his staff text to keep us informed of how things were going and how Lucca was doing. Dr. Lewis remains personally involved and some of the communications and calls come directly from him. When I spoke to him after our GSD received his titanium tooth he informed me that our dog should avoid MRIs and instead seek a CT scan when necessary and also advised he would communicate same to another veterinary specialist we see for our GSD. I would say going above and beyond is their standard of care and service and not an exception. I highly recommend Dr. Lewis and his practice for all of your animal’s dental needs.

We were very impressed. Dr. Lewis was able to save my two year old dog's canine. The local vet had recommended extraction. Dr. Lewis made no promises but was very optimistic. We got her back with all of her teeth. From start to finish we were amazed. VDS got us in for an evaluation right away. The procedure was scheduled almost immediately. Communication was quick and thorough. Every member of the staff particularly Dr Lewis himself and Vicki, his assistant, were great to deal with. They both took the time to completely explain what was happening, and what we needed to do. We highly recommend this practice.

We have a 1 yr old cat who needed 30 teeth extracted. Dr. Lewis is the specialist at this location, and I have used him once before when he was in NJ. He did a fantastic job that first time, so I knew I had to track him down again at the Pa location. I was beyond pleased on both occasions with his services. Don’t risk using any veterinarian on your pet’s teeth. Dr. Lewis is extremely talented, as well as being patient. He takes all the time you need to explain everything to you before, during, and after the procedure.

Excellent care! The entire staff was wonderful. It's a little pricey, but I knew that going in and they are very up-front with their estimates. They were fabulous about texting me updates about my cat's well-being during surgery. Highly recommend!

All of the staff here are amazingly nice and super supportive. The only downside is, it's expensive. Y For the piece though, you get the undivided attention of the Dr and the anesthesiologist who perform only dental procedures. I hope I don't need them again, not because it was expensive but because I would like to not put my dog through the orders again. But if I need doggy dental work, I will come back here in a second.

Dr. Lewis and his entire team was incredible. They were so genuine and took the time to explain everything to us as our pup was an extremely rare case. Of course it is devastating to find that your five month old puppy has cancer however, there was no team more capable of performing surgery on our sweet boy. We are forever grateful for the team at VDS and would recommend them to anyone.
