I took my dog for his first visit to Petcare for a checkup and rabies shot yesterday, and I couldn't be more thrilled with our experience. The office is clean, calm and extremely welcoming. We were shown into an exam room almost immediately, so no time in the waiting room with other pets. (Check out was done in the exam room as well, so no fumbling with your wallet at the front desk while your pet is pulling to leave or dodging other pets. So thoughtful.) Our Vet tech, Kate, was kind and lovely to both me and my dog, and Dr. deSagun instantly put my nervous dog at ease and was extremely thorough in her physical exam. Usually slow to warm up to strangers, my dog seemed to sense he was in kind, capable hands and didn't struggle or even wince when getting his shot. The price of services was very reasonable, and the timing of future appts and vaccinations and procedures was thoughtfully discussed and outlined. I couldn't be happier about our pleasant experience. We are thrilled and grateful to be at Petcare from now on!

We would never go any where else for vet services! The staff at Petcare always take such wonderful care of our fur babies. They get us in on time, even for urgent care, and are so willing to help figure what we need. You would a fool to seek care some where else!

Petcare Veterinary Services is my place to go to for my dog's wellfare. I recommend it to anyone who asks about a veterinary in our area. I wouldn't go anywhere else for her medical and other care.

I wouldn’t recommend this vet to anyone. We wanted to change vets to be closer to our house a few years back. This year the vet reached out to us and said they had an opening. We agreed to meet with them and see if we liked their service. Fast forward to a call today… the vet leaves a message and say they received our small dogs medical and that they couldn’t help with him. Our dogs fully healthy and just had a physical.i called back and I’m told the office manager forgot to call me yesterday to tell me but she’s out of the office. I asked if the office received my pets records, how did the office manager forget to call yesterday. Bottom line, these guys took someone instead of us. Probably someone they know. I live walking distance to this vet and I wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. Poor customer service, not truthful, and honestly probably just an over priced per service in the center of west Hartford. Look else where. The vet on north main has always been good.

I have been going here for many years, and could not ask for a better vet office. The vets and techs are excellent - knowledgeable, kind, reasonable in the treatment they recommend, and reasonably priced. I highly recommend them.

I really wish I could give a positive review for this veterinary office, but unfortunately I can’t. We brought our baby girl here for many years and the majority of the time the staff and Dr Mascola were all very attentive, caring, etc. Unfortunately, my girl passed away yesterday and she was suffering during her last days (maybe weeks?) on earth. 3 weeks ago, I brought my dog in for a routine check up, but I mentioned when making the appointment that she wasn’t acting herself lately. I gave a list of symptoms to the vet; she was coughing, had no appetite, and was refusing to go on walks. All very strange for her. Dr Mascola showed no concern whatsoever . . . the answer I got for every one of her symptoms was “old age”. Maybe a bit of arthritis. Nothing serious. So we were sent home with a boat load of drugs to deal with the cough, possible arthritis pain, and also some antibiotics. She got progressively worse and we called the office many times with our concerns. We felt very helpless because Mia’s symptoms seemed very serious, but everyone we talked to at the office did not seem too concerned. Never said we should bring her in. Also never heard from Dr Mascola personally which was very disheartening, all our concerns were simply “relayed” to her. Well just yesterday, my poor girl was having her worst day yet, so we called the office and they advised us to go into the emergency walk in at Veterinary Specialists of CT on North Main. We brought her and they ran tests and took x rays, turns out she was suffering from congestive heart failure. Her heart was extremely enlarged and her lungs were filling with fluid; with a grave prognosis from the ER vet we had to make the decision to put her to sleep. The staff at Veterinary Specialists was so kind and comforting. I don’t blame Petcare for my girl’s illness, but we were very disappointed in how they worked with us during Mia’s last weeks of life. With a quick Google search anyone can see she had classic symptoms of heart failure, but the diagnosis by our vet was “old age, maybe some arthritis”. We thank the staff and vets for caring for Mia over the years but would certainly not return here with another pet based on our latest experience.

This is the only place I trust when it comes to my cats. The staff at Petcare are very special to me, they are kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and wonderful with the animals. Their love for animals shines through with every visit. They are always there to help answer questions over the phone and they always take such good care of my animals. They go above and beyond to accommodate and do what they can to help out. We had to put one of My cats down and the situation was so sad but the doctors and staff made it bearable. It wasn’t about taking our money or collecting their check, it was genuine empathy and compassion and I have so much respect for every person who works there. their professionalism/ realistic approach to situations as if the animals were their own comforts me. I 10/10 recommend coming here

The staff here cares as much as your pet as you do. They are professional, communicate well and take great care of my dogs with smiles on their faces all day long. My dogs run right to the door when they get there, they can feel the love too!

The most incredible people I have ever had the pleasure to do business with. They treated us very kindly. Welcomed us with open arms and treated us like family. They followed up with us. They sent us a thank you card for being their customer and they are $100.00 cheaper than our previous vet for the same service!!! I was with the same vet for over 20 years and was unhappy. I stayed because they were convenient. I wish I had made the switch many years ago!! I HIGHLY recommend Petcare!!! They are the BEST!!!

I am so glad I found this place! The staff and doctors are amazing people who care about their patients. The place is very welcoming. I have been bringing my dog here since last year and I am so happy that he gets this amazing care. Every time I call about a question or concern, the technicians are polite and offer me helpful advice! ABSOLUTELY BEST VETERINARY EVER!

My dog was viciously attacked by two neighborhood dogs today. We called our regular vet, the refused to help my dog, but instead simply suggested he be taken to another facility because they were completely booked for the day, Why have a vet if you cannot turn to it in an emergency? Cold and unfeeling. We were shuffled aside because it wasn't routine exam for them to shill all sorts of treatments and high priced elixirs, I guess. Douglas is extremely injured under another doctor's care. I know the renting at BlueBack must be daunting, but many times, things other than maximum marketing and profits should take precedence.

Dr. Mascola has always taken the time to listen to our concerns about our dog, and run tests when we thought that she wasn't acting like her usual happy self. Today Dr. Mascola and the rest of the staff comforted us through difficult process of saying goodbye to our sweet old girl. Their sensitive bedside manner was very much appreciated. I recommend this practice without hesitation.
