My dog broke her toe nail and I had a hard time looking for a banfield office that could take her in right away, until I called the Waterbury office. The receptionist lady was extremely helpful on the phone, understood the situation and made an effort to squeeze me in their schedule. She was also considerate to remind me to drive carefully on the icy road. When I got to the office we were warmly greeted and the nurse was also very helpful and took care of my dog right away. The pulled her nail off and checked her for fever and examined her toe. We didn’t have to wait much. She also answered all my questions in detail and with a lot of patience. I got the pain medication and the visit was of no charge except for $18 for the cost of medication. I was very impressed and will definitely use them again in the future!

It was an excellent decision for me to use Banfield as the veterinary hospital for my cat, Pumpkin. I want to thank the wonderful staff for their medical care, patience, and kindness. The wellness plans enabled me to give her the care she needed. Thank you Banfield!

Our beagle was seen here as a puppy. After getting fixed he had multiple health issues immediately. stomach issues was a huge concern. he kept getting bigger but the vet said I was over feeding him and to try a different canned food. When he reached 40lbs at 3yrs old we went to a new vet. He was diagnosed with several stomach tumors and the weight gain wasn’t diet related. Not sure how a vet misses that one but I guess it happens sometimes. He has since passed away. A true diagnosis would have provided a more better way of life for our friend even though the outcome would not have have been different. Oh and the wellness plan didn’t cover any of the expenses it was out of pocket. Good luck to anyone going here I wish you well. I’m sure the vet we had retired or should have.

Brought our dog in because he was limping, Vet said that there was nothing wrong with his leg and that he wasn't limping at the office. Brought him home and he hasn't put weight on his leg since. Place is always understaffed and pretty much a cash grab, Please bring your animals somewhere where they actually care about your pets and not just a paycheck.

This location always sounds like we are inconveniencing them when we call to ask for appointments. They never have any appointments that are less than 2 weeks in advance. Most times people are not able to wait 2 weeks or more to have their pet seen by the vet. Therefore, all the money you pay for the plans is rendered useless. This will be my last year paying for these plans at banfield. I end up having to pay a regular vet to see my dogs every time there is an issue anyway, might as well save the money

Reliable!!!! When you literally can’t get your dog in a vet that you been going to for 10 years because of COVID or whatever we got an appointment with Banfield. Our dog got into the garbage and was very sick and we were very scared. Our vet of 10 plus years told us 2 months or take him to a walk in. Seriously !?!? Banfield got us in, in 2 days and then we decided to transfer our dog Jack primary care to Banfield. Jack is older and the wellness plan really works for us. He is our baby and they take excellent care of him.

We have been bringing my 2 dogs to Banfield for 9 years. Recently 1 of my dogs was diagnosed (not by Banfield) with stomach cancer she rapidly lost weight and quality of life and we ultimately put her to rest a heartbreaking time in the life of my children and my wife and I. We have had the dogs since puppies and with one gone we made the heart felt decision to adopt a rescue. Our rescue fit right in and she's just as spunky as the fur baby we lost. I called Banfield to make an appointment and was quickly told no. Due to staffing issues no new patients although I've been a client for 9 years spent money on wellness plans and everything else through them. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that he would call me and for 2 weeks now still haven't received a call. So we decided to run out the term of the wellness plan for my dog that still goes there...we made an appointment for teeth cleaning and whatever else he would need covered by his plan. I check in for the appointment and was then told that because his plan is no longer on auto renew id have to either renew or pay almost $300 to clean the teeth of my 9 year old beagle. Yet another kick in the stomach from Banfield. We found a vet operating by my home in business for over 40 years and have joined their practice and my rescue baby has already gotten seen, a clean bill of health and made an appointment for my old boy. Banfield has horrible customer service...always short staffed, no one ever answers phones or returns messages left to the automated service, promises of the manager calling left unfulfilled and a constant turnaround of veterinarians as it seems they can not keep any employees. A Google search will show Banfield states that there is a Vet shortage...maybe for them but not a problem I've seen in looking for a more suitable practice for my pets. Maybe as a faithful client to them I was expecting to be treated as someone that they valued. I will never bring an animal to them ever again as in my mind they can no longer properly provide care to the animals they should.

I experienced slow service they do not answer their phone keep you on hold and if your pet has an emergency there's no one to answer the phone on time always a person has to wait I have spoken to other customers that are waiting outside they say the same thing they need to do better

This location is terrible. They called to confirm my appointment, which I did. When I called back a few days later to verify the time they told me my appointment was cancelled and they’re not taking new patients (even though I had this appointment for a month). They never told me my appointment was cancelled and I would have showed up for the visit unless I called. How could you not tell someone you cancelled their appointment? I had already taken off from work. My dog needed her next round of shots and they basically told me that it’s not their problem. The receptionist Melissa is a horrible person and should not be doing this job. She hung up on me multiple times and was completely rude instead of trying to fix the issue they caused. I have seen other bad reviews about her yet they do nothing to actually fix things. I called this location multiple times to speak with the manager and was told she would call me the next day each time I called. It is now weeks later and I still haven’t heard anything. Banfield will not be getting my business and I will make sure to tell anyone that asks to not give them business as well.

I called because my cat got clipped by a car and is not doing well and he needs to be put down unfortunately. They told me they weren’t taking any new clients and to go somewhere else.

Miniature Schnauzer Smokey’s first time at the Waterbury,CT location - Dr. Zubovic took the time to address any and all concerns. All my questions were answered and for the first time in years, I did not feel rushed. I immediately felt comfortable with her demeanor and confident in her ability.

My baby, Bitsy, a Maltese. She passed away on 4/12/20. They took her body from me gently and comforted me. They understood how much she meant to me. I'm a senior & she was more than my friend she was my baby. Thank you Banfield and staff for being so caring and understanding.

Overpriced, high insurance rate. Although the staff if friendly, the corporation is about themselves.
