Amended Review I have had an opportunity to have in depth discussions with this business. My earlier review was critical due to what I saw was a breakdown in processes. We have discussed the matter at length, and they have taken my concerns to heart. In my opinion, this is exactly what one wants from a professional business. Nothing is perfect every day and every time, it is what happens when issues are brought to the attention of those in charge. To that end, I have to say kudos to Katelyn for following up and addressing my concerns. Will I use their services again, the answer is yes.

UPDATE: I have not been issued a refund as promised. I suspect it is because I have not withdrawn my review or edited it so that is favorable. The manager hinted that they would appreciate a change. Dispicable. Horrendous. The most unprofessional groomer I have ever encountered. I specifically told the groomer what I wanted. The groomer did not follow directions and did a hack job. Looks like a fourth grader did the work. His tail was sheared like a poodle. I spoke with a manager. They were pleasant and gave me a refund and offered a free grooming session. But I will never return. The groomer's reasoning for the awful cut was because of mats. Not true; I had brushed him just two days prior and his tail had no mats at all. Even if that was the case, the "cut" is uneven and choppy. Every other groomer I have used NEVER sheared him. Back to Dog Gone Smart.

Dr Vali is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about pet care. Our Toby was in his care for a foreign body that he swallowed, the staff at the center under Dr Vali’s guidance offered Toby the care he needed and the correct referrals to treat him. Dr Vali went above and beyond to follow up with the Emergency Vet Specialist ensuring care and monitoring Toby’s health. I would highly recommend Dr Vali and the pleasant paw pet center for your pets care

As many people know my situation I am deeply saddened that they are saying there is no record of this dog or situation. They paid with their credit card at NVS for emergency care that day for Hope and we also got a letter overnighted from their lawyers threatening me. Yesterday the Connecticut state Marshall came to my house to hand deliver the same letter to my son. If there is no record of this, then why the response from their lawyers/investors. I also was contacted by a person that was there at the time this happened to Hope and she witnessed everything. This vet will not allow me or my family to grieve since day 1. How uncompassionate and sad. My feelings are that their practice is more important then taking accountability for the death of my dog

Dr.Vali, Mr. Blackwell , Mary ,Teresa and entire staff of Pleasant paws are exceptional ! I drive more than a hour to see Dr. Vali , his and the team's professionalism is best in the world , and diagnosis of ailments is highly accurate ! This facility is unique in the entire tristate area . would highly recommend !

They have been a true blessing for my pet . Dr Vali is very knowledgeable and his diagnostics are on point. His expertise is versatile and very knowledgeable. His Extremely polite manner of explaining the diagnosis , prognosis and treatment plan are what makes you a permanent client . He is very thorough in his findings and his treatment methodology is absolutely impeccable. The most profound and distinctive quality about this practice is that they make time for your pet even in the busiest days , I am sure any pet parent can appreciate this to the utmost . Follow up and continuous care is sure very thorough and thoughtfully done . Our fur babies are in best hands possible with them

I always feel comfortable taking my dog here, the staff is amazing. They are professional and friendly. All of there packages for daycare, and boarding are worth the money in my opinion because they reduce your cost in the end. My dog always leaves happy and excited to go back.

I knew I shouldn’t have come here but I was referred by a friend so I tried it out. WORST communication of my life. I’m so upset right now. It took so much time and energy to get to the groomers after waiting weeks for a spot to open. I get there and they tell me they can’t cut my cats to the description I submitted weeks ago?!! They only do lion cuts she said, I just wanted a simple cut all around with close cut to the belly and bum. I called multiple times even in the morning to confirm.They could have told me then that they couldn’t cut my cats but no! Instead they let me drive 30 minutes to the shop and now I have to drive back another 30 min with morning commute traffic. Im livid people!! Don’t waste your time here.

I've taken my dog here a few times for grooming with mixed experiences. One time when I picked her up she was visibly bleeding from her paw (her nail was cut too deep) - I understand that that can happen but it was a bit odd to bring her out to me bloody. Its also nearly impossible to get them to answer the phone. It is either always busy or rings endlessly and never gets answered. I would strongly suggest the allow for online booking since their reception staff clearly is overwhelmed and can't answer the phone.

my experience with Pleasant Paws was a very positive. My dogs go to daycare and they love it. when we arrive at the door, they are barking to go in. The grooming and nail trim was outstanding. Dogs came home smelling fresh and clean and nails were perfect. I would definitely recommend this business for all of your pet's needs. The doctors are wonderful as well as the staff. Very Friendly and the place is very clean.

Pleasant Paws offers a great environment for my dogs to play & socialize. The staff is so loving and caring with my dogs, they're true professionals. I highly recommend PPPC for you boarding and play care needs.

friendly service and my dog always comes back clean and happy. the facility is clean and always spotless and im met with friendly faces. the front desk could use a little work, the communication also isnt ideal but i get they are busy so i cant blame them. dr vali is also a great vet and im thankful there is a vet office onsite incase its needed. every staff member ive met is very professional and pleasant to talk to

A peer of mine brought their healthy* dog in for a quick nail trim. Same day their healthy* dog was paralyzed from their hind legs down. The poor dog had to be put down today because of it. When Pleasant Paws were confronted of what had happened, they yelled at the owners and blamed them for the issue. This isn’t slander, I’m not trying to defame a nice family business. Google reviews are here for a reason; to leave reviews. This company is known for poor customer service and unfortunately- even situations akin to this. I see animals as my own. I am just sharing a poor experience in case this happens to anyone in the future. Update: Isn’t strange that there are multiple 5 star reviews all within 1 day? To each their own- if they have had good experiences then I’m happy for them & god bless their beautiful babies. But others have not and that’s why this review is here.

Update: August 2021 I’m kind of disappointed in this place recently. As you can see from my previous review my fiancé and I have had our puppy going to Pleasant Paws for a while. We had a kennel cough issue with our dog a few months ago after he was there which from everything I read is no big deal and just happens in environments such as these. I wasn’t really upset with that but I felt extremely dismissed on the phone when I called about it after being constantly told the manager wasn’t in. We even went once Saturday and it seemed as though there were two people working and no one really knew what was happening. Since I’m not the one who drops off usually maybe it was because they didn’t recognize me but in the end it hasn’t been the experience I started out with when I toured the place. Several times since then there have just been several different things that have been kind of off with the service. I eventually asked to speak to the manager I spoke with when we signed up to then discover he was no longer there for the last several months which was also disappointing as he was very on top of my initial concerns. It’s a nice big clean facility as far as the lobby goes but perhaps it’s not being run as well as it used to or something along those lines. Seems the other reviews are starting to trend that way as well. I was told by a friend of another incident involving a dog there who was injured. And had to be put down . In my experience I haven’t heard of anything like that before. I don’t think it’s a terrible place and my dog has never been injured, but it just seems not as customer courteous anymore. That’s why I must adjust my rating but Hopefully they can turn it around. Does also look like due to a few negative ratings they are suddenly getting a lot of 5 stars just today. Hopefully just a coincidence as again I think it’s not a terrible place and so far my dog has been safe. Original: This place is AMAZING for Dog families. I have a 15 week old puppy and have been looking into daycare options. I’ve toured a few places and it wasn’t until I toured yesterday that I felt I found the right place. I have a smaller guy so I’d been protective and weary. The manager not only took time to show me the ins and outs of the facility(most won’t even let you passed the front desk) but also took 45 minutes of his time on a busy morning to answer all my questions and concerns and I had a ton. He truly went the extra mile and it was more than appreciated. When he passed me off to the front desk I was met with another friendly face and the entire process was just made me feel comfortable and important. Not just another sale. You have a new puppy academy family in us. Keep up the good work Guys!! ????

Great experience! They took care of my rabbit and my dog loves to go to daycare! He comes back happy and tired (a good tired!) and well cared for! Every dog that comes in is always extremely excited to see staff members and knows the way to the daycare like its their own house! Reccomend!

Awful customer service. 9 nights, two dogs. Staff promised daily reports for each...got I think 3 far cry from the 18.....management later told us they are courtesy, which is it???? One dog came home sick with a 'respiratory infection'. Staff refused to call it Kennel Cough after they emailed many that they had an outbreak. Not a big deal as things happen. Our own vet confirmed treatment of multiple dogs from PP from that week. The responsiveness from management was appalling. And, one manager told my wife it was really our fault. Hearing of numerous others that have had real bad experiences.......Too bad.
