We were told we could only see the animals online and appt if we thought we saw something we might be interested in. All in the name of COVID. People can go to outings and stand side by side but you cannot go in to see what animals need a home ? This needs to be re-thought.

Want to give a huge shout out to Tiffany who made adopting my baby boy Barnardo a very easygoing and comforting process, Tiffany was so amazing, and made the adoption easy, I love this little boy. I love the fast service, I applied Monday night, got a call yesterday and was there to adopt him today. Thanks again!

It takes a special person to work here and that's what they have. They all have hearts bigger than the building they work in. 5 years ago, we adopted a rescue dog, and the support we received was outstanding. Since then, I have become a financial supporter and donate what I can several times during the year. Normally I mail my donations, but this Thursday, I went in person to make a special request donation. Our friends had just lost their rescue dog, that had been with them for many years. I wanted to make this donation in memory of their dog and explained this to , I believe her name was Maddie. She, without hesitation, began to figure out how to do this. I guess it's not a normal happening. They don't have a form or certificate that can be given to the recipient. But she figured a way and in doing this , you could see the emotion in her face. I very strongly recommend the Connecticut Humane Society to anyone looking for a pet. They go above and beyond to see that the pet goes to their right forever home. Also I'd like to request, that all out there think about making a donation to this organization and it doesn't have to be money. They also appreciate food and pet accessories and toys.

I adopted a kitten 4 days ago and she is the sweetest little thing you can imagine. She learns quickly, has quickly adapted to our house and to us and stays close by us when not romping playfully around the room or playing with her toys. I can attribute part of that to the loving care she must have gotten from the staff at the shelter. She exhibits no fear of people. When I was there to adopt her, the staff member gave me helpful advice and allowed time for her to get to know and trust me so that our subsequent experience together has been delightful. She was clean and healthy and extremely curious. What a joy!

The techs were great! The vets bedside manner could use a lot of work. Seemed very condescending in tone when speaking with me. I didn't appreciate her in the least especially while discussing the health of our newest pet.

See i gave this place a one Star because I couldn't give a 0 (zero) Star. I called at 9:45 am this morning about my Mom's aging dog. I even left a voice message with my phone number. And no call back at all. So a few hours go by and nothing. So now my Mom's aging dog is died and my Mom just came out of having a quadruple heart surgery. And doctors told her to live a stress-free life. Yet You guys never aided Us. So if anyone from anywhere sees this. Don't call them because they won't answer You back.????????????????????????

I reached out to them about surrendering 2 dogs and was told I'd hear back from someone in 2 days. 5 days passed and I never received a call. I reached out to them only to find out that one of the dogs was turned down and they had no plans to call me back to inform me. I was then told I would be put on a call back list regarding the other dog and should hear from them by the next day. I never did receive a phone call. Instead 2 days later I got an email saying they will not meet the other dog either. They didn't even have the decency to call me to tell me

Today I adopted my third guinea pig from the CT Humane Society. If anybody's looking to adopt I would definitely recommend checking out this place they have a good selection of animals that do need loving homes. The people there are very helpful with any questions that you have about adoption they also give great suggestions on how to care for your pet if you are not sure. They have always answered all questions that I have and I have also learned a few other things that I did not know about guinea pigs because of their knowledge. This is the first place I would check out before any other place for adoption. After I filled out the application online they got back to me within 30 minutes and ask to set up an appointment I like the fact that they were very quick about it. I definitely give this place a 5-star rating.
