Unwilling to work with pets they find to be difficult and prejudice toward rescue animals. Extremely rude and unprofessional. There are many other places in the area with much better service, skip this place if you have the option.

WORST VET OFFICE EVER! Never go here!! They kicked my sister out when she had an emergency!! Just because he wasn’t a pure bread dog doesn’t mean you need to put a muzzle on a dog, this dog just had surgery and has never and will never hurt anyone!! Absolutely unprofessional, rude, and harmful to animals. This place needs to be closed down, I will be complaining to the state vetinary licensing board. She said if it would make you more comfortable muzzle him and they said they were scared because he was whining, how can you call yourselves vets!! I hope they never treat an animal the way they treated this dog and my sister. They should know how to handle a dog when they are scared, especially rescues who have problems with muzzles!!! They don’t even know what they are doing! They weighed him once and were so dumb they didn’t write it down so this poor dog after surgery had to be carried back up on a table with stitches! NEVER GO HERE!!!!!

First time I went here they were so accommodating by fitting me in at almost closing. I really appreciated their understanding of not allowing my Fur Baby to endure any more pain. They also provide information of Veterinarians that can come to your house.

Thank you for taking such wonderful care of Lexi during her spay. The office staff was extremely professional and friendly. During pick up, the doctor came out and spoke with me about how she did and how I should proceed until her suture removal. Thank you again for the great experience.

Great place! No matter what strange issues I bring to them, they always have an answer. Sick turtle, injured ducks, and normal dog check ups - they have done it all. Thanks again

We were visiting relatives and needed more prescription food for our pup. They had what we needed, at a reasonable price, and the staff was great.

I am not someone who just lets anyone care for my animals. My Pooch Blue was considered very High Risk with a 6/6 Heart Murmur and an Enlarged Heart. Dr. Belden worked in conjunction with my Cardiologist and performed a Neuter that clearly showed he is a Top Doctor with a natural gift for working with Animals.

Dr Belden is a great vet. Not over-priced or trying to convince you to do extra. Many years of experience and really cares about your pet.

Best doctor I ever had for my dogs and cats. I've taken my pets to a few other locations but this one tops them all.! Doctor Belden not only takes good care of my animals, he treats them like his own, he was there for me when I rushed my cat in for an emergency, and did everything he could to save her. Over all highly satisfying with service and staff.!! 5????

We have been bringing our dogs and cats for over 20years to New Milford Animal Hospital. The care of the staff has been outstanding. In fact our two daughters also bring their dogs here and are just as happy.

I have been bringing my pets to Dr. Belden for over the last 10 years. I never write reviews, however, I am compelled due to Dr. Belden’s lack of professionalism. My pet recently died and I decided to have him cremated. Dr. Belden told me that I would be contacted the following week. After 3 weeks, when it became apparent that the office wasn’t going to call me back, I decided it was in my best interest to call the office and request a transfer of medical records for my remaining pets. When I returned Dr. Belden’s phone call inquiring why, he didn’t even allow me to finish my sentence. He abruptly and rudely interrupted me by berating and belittling me and blaming me for the death of my pet. After he hung up on me, when I tried to talk, I realized that he really didn’t actually call to find out why. He called me to degrade and demean my integrity and character. Needless to say, Dr. Belden still has my pet’s remains…. In response to the reply regarding my phone number....when I dropped Gizmo off in his critical state, I gave my current phone number where I could be reached. In addition, Dr. Belden was able to call to reach me to tell me that my pet died. It is inexcusable that my file was not updated with my new phone number and/or that I wasn't contacted through mail.

Fantastic hospital and staff. They have been very welcoming and helpful with our fur family. Having just brought our dog there for boarding they were great at reassuring us and the price was incredibly reasonable.

First time bringing my Dog in for diharea and she is old and has other problems I asked to check. I received a quote for an estimate for what it would cost. I love my dog but thousands of dollars is not something I could spend right now. I said he could run a few tests that day. Then he named other things he wanted to do and told him I didn’t have the money at the time to do them. We said we do them at another time when I SAID HE COULD. This is after being quoted for the tests done that day and getting charged double, which in my opinion I should had been warned about before. Now after I left he runs a test without my permission. When he calls me to tell me about the results of something he wasn’t suppose to run I said I told you not to do this I don’t have the money. He said don’t worry I discounted it a little for you. That’s not the point I don’t have spare money just sitting around to pay. Then proceeded to make me feel guilty about my dog. When there was nothing wrong besides diarrhea. She is old and has natural problems as dogs get older but that is at my discretion what I do with my dog. She exercises, eats and acts just like she always has. The point of the rant is tests should not be done without speaking to the owner and approving it. Leaving a message on my voicemail is not approving the doctor to DO ANYTHING. Updated 5.30.18 to comment. Any additional tests that needs to be done should always by speaking with the actual pet owner. How it was then handled after was again unprofessional. Like all pet owners we all care about our pets but it is OUR CHOICE what tests will be performed based on the information you give us. I have never been to a Vet that has ever done this before. I will not be recommending or using his services anymore.

On a Saturday afternoon I needed to take my cat to the vet. Most places were closed (or closing) and the folks at New Milford Animal Hospital kindly agreed to see us; they even stayed well past closing. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and patience.

We brought our dogs here for a regular check up and vaccinations. The vet was nice, so was the staff, however they are very expensive. Our dogs had to be put on some meds, and when I said that I can buy the same meds somewhere else for cheaper, they changed the form of medication they wanted my dogs on. When they called me to give a second round of meds I told them that I was going to buy the meds from someone else, the woman on the phone got very snotty and insisted that I use the powder form. When I asked her what the difference was, she said that I might have to use a lot of the liquid form to equal the same dosage (which is untrue). I bought the powder form medication for 1/4 the price this vet charges for the SAME exact thing. They also refuse to give prescriptions to 1 800 pet meds, even though we specifically requested it. They were insistent that we bought our heart worm meds from them. I will not ever go back. I cannot support a vet that dictates where we get our pet's medication filled and then has the nerve to charge 4X the going rate.
