Love Dr James and trust him with our animals. Staff is very friendly.

Our dog Jake had an abscess tooth that needed attention. While other places said they couldn't do it for several weeks, Meriden Animal Hospital did it within a couple of days. They took great care of Jake without breaking the bank and all the while making him and us comfortable. We will be going there from now on and highly recommend!

We have a 120 lb cane corso/ Italian mastiff. Due to having had multiple surgeries in his short 3 years of life, he is VERY afraid of any vets and animal hospitals. He is fear aggressive. Meaning if he is provoked, he will bite. He’s terrified… and unfortunately, a massive dog. We muzzle him and explain his behavior to every vet we have to deal with. Our dog requires sedation to be treated at all. As you can imagine, it takes a special vet doctor to have the patience and compassion to work with us. Dr. James at Meriden animal Hospital is a class act. We FINALLY feel like we have a vet who understands our needs and is willing to defer to our judgment as the primary owners / handlers of our difficult (but super awesome) dog. Our dog, Marlin, had lip surgery at this hospital. Dr James was super accommodating. We asked for the sedative shot to be done outside because Marlin will not walk in the building.… Dr James did it, jumped back to give Marlin space because he became reactive (while muzzled)… minutes later Marlin was asleep… then the staff carried him inside on a stretcher for the surgery. We are so grateful for this vet hospital. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Worst place you can come too they don’t care about your animals they should shut this place down rude as employees on the phone someone should fire her cause she’s be the reason that business won’t do good she should give that position to someone that would cherish what she’s doing terrible customer service and don’t bother if your a new customer cause they don’t take new customers, what’s the point of having and animal shelter for? If there not taking people in? Would not recommend coming here.

Dr. James is a rockstar!! My husky was attacked by a wild racoon at Hubbard Park today, and Dr. James was able to give him a booster shot right away ... during his lunchbreak... thank you so much for putting your patients first. These kind of actions make all the difference in the world ❤❤❤

The most caring people... It's not about money money ! Like Piper Olson is ! I was so grateful... They took me right in and cared for my cat.. and they let me be in the room with her.. unlike Piper Olsen... They were totally honest with me... They weren't trying to drain my bank account.. like Piper Olsen.! This is the best veterinarian I've ever been to.. and if I ever get another pet.. this is where I would go.. and I recommend this place to everyone.. the most caring staff.. they care about the pets.. not about money money money ! Piper Olson charged me 274 .00 to wait hours in the parking lot.. the whole time my cat was sitting in her crate, sitting in her own urine ! Piper Olsen should be put out business. All they care about is your money. Do not go to Piper Olson !

The staff is very kind and really listen, I have never been rushed when I have questions about my "babies". My Mom had a stroke in May so I am taking care of her 14 year old Mini Poodle. Our little Poodle became ill and Dr. James and the staff all pitched in to help me. They were super busy but they didn't turn us away like her life long vet did out on Southington. Yeah, we know where the best place is!!! MAH!

I met Dr. Vazquez and he was amazing and you can tell he cares for his furry patients. His technician was also great and friendly. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Now I have a second puppy. I can’t wait until she sees Dr. Vazquez. Thank you all for the amazing job! You all made me feel comfortable ❤️

I took my pets to Meriden Animal Hospital for 17 years and I left the practice when I moved an hour away. My many experiences with Meriden Animal Hospital were positive ones and I would recommend this veterinarian practice.

I recently brought my cat, Mystique, to the Meriden Animal Hospital for his yearly wellness exam. I was concerned about a limp I noticed Mystique had and requested an x-ray. Dr. Mirto called me and told me that she wouldn't recommend an x-ray but, instead, she gave me anti-inflammatory medication to see if that would help. Dr. Mirto and the entire staff at Meriden Animal Hospital are very professional and take the care of pets very seriously. I also appreciate Dr. Mirto saving me money by not doing the x-ray and instead trying another solution while at the same time telling me what to look for when Mystique walks and to bring him back in if anything changes.

They were great with my puppy. Very informative and caring. Would recommend to anyone.

All staff from the check in person in the parking lot to the doctors who treat the animals are caring, considerate, and professional. Focus is on the well being of the animals and at the same time making sure the humans understand and are comfortable with the care plan.

The vet was very friendly and knowledgeable. Also, the price was reasonable.
