Terrible treated my dog and I with no respect. Vet was mean to my dog. Treated us like a number not a patient

Extremely poor quality care. If the owner/manager spent more time working towards improving the business and less time policing the comments section on google they might be able to redeem this place. Paranoid? Responding to every single comment looks really bad. Do your job well and your reviews will get better.

Dr. Steinberg is one of the only vets I truly trust. He has gotten my dacshunds to live the fullest lives even withultiple surgeries. He never hikes up the prices and gives a realistic view. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and cares for animals. I won't see anyone else unless it's really required.

Sadly don’t have the best experience here due to the fact my kitten had a continuous ear mite infection and they kept prescribing these expensive drop that In the end never cleared the issue. I went back a few months later when my wellness plan ended and they said I needed to make an apt to confirm the ear mites after the doctor had just looked at him and said it’s back. Then they wanted another $50 for the medicine I had already refilled like 3-4 times. I left and went elsewhere that cured his mites with 1 drop of this stuff and he seems cured after that one dose versus spending hundreds on that other stuff that only annoyed him in the long run. River Valley in Suffield really helped me out so much! Amazing staff and vets. Not to mention Banfield gave him his rabies shot and a couple days later he got a giant bump or mass in that same spot and they tried telling me it could be cancer and to do a biopsy and in the end the doctor said someone messed up his shot since he was thin and a rescue and injected the rabies wrong. That was traumatizing. Also a couple months after my wellness plan ended they renewed it without contacting me even when I had been in there and said I didn’t want it again and only agreed to one year as he was a kitten and needed the shots/surgery to get fixed. Don’t waste your $ or time. I’ve saved both of those going elsewhere and am much happier with the outcome.

They cut my bunny's nails and do a great job with my squirmy bun.

Quality of the plan has fallen sharply. I pay 1000 a year for 'care" the best they do is a drop off appointment and referral to an actual vet. Not worth the cost. Seems great if your pet has NO issues. Im looking for other vets at this point....not worth the 2 grand a year for both dogs

Update 5/25/2021 I switched to Manchester Banfield and am very happy with Iris's care. I love being able to actually take her in and hand to to someone, no parking lot drop off. This was the Glastonbury site. Since they closed due to lack of staff and rescheduled till later in the month I would say not great.

They are a little pricey but every vet is basically and they will check anything out even if it's not part of your pet wellness plan

I was bringing my dog in for a dog bite wound and I was told I would have to drop him off. However, once I arrive Dr. Muir was able to see me within 20 minutes and took care of all Diegos needs

Absolutely appalled by the service that I did not receive today. Called to have my dog seen due to a blockage in his rectal area. Under extreme stress and could not perform a bowel movement. Had leakage of something in the area and Ifelt it was an emergency. As I found out by the Vet clinic that did see him, it was an emergency!! Banfield told me that the earliest they could see him was Monday!!! He is a flipping patient there also!!! I would not recommend this facility at all, unless your dog is not important to you, as it appears as though he is not to them. No stars for this place and I am officially taking my pup to Fenton River Vets!! They were terrific and they removed a 2 inch steak bone from his rectum, that had become lodged.

I’ve taken my dog to Banfield all her life and I love it. We’ve lived all across the states and it’s so nice knowing no matter where we are her, her wellness plan is available and they can easily transfer records. The vets have all been awesome.

Dr. Steinberg helped us when our 16 year Bella passed away 4 years ago. He nows sees 3 year old Bambi and also our new puppy Moose. He is caring and you can tell he loves what he does.

Every visit they found a way to get more $$ from me..his last visit he was given a clean bill of health. 7-8wks later I had to euthanize him he had gotten so ill so quickly. Now corporate is harassing me, they expect me to pay for the plan for my dead dog. I am doing no such thing!! They are adding salt to an already broken heart. Its totally unacceptable to insist we pay for a plan we no longer can use. May be time for a lawyer...this is emotional abuse!!

Would not recommend. Barely told me anything informative at my apt. Focus of the apt was selling me the monthly subscription plan for their preventive care. Returned for a vaccination and charged me for an office visit + vaccination, when all they did was the vaccination. Will not be returning. Rather see to a private vet than a franchise.

We have had a great experience with Banfield. When our cat passed away they were so compassionate and patient. Now we bring our puppy there and have never had any issues. The only downside is that after our cat died we still had to pay for her wellness plan ($45) for 5 months after she passed to finish out the contract. Seemed kind of pointless and sad.

INSURANCE: THE INSURANCE IS TOO EXPENSIVE AND IN NO WAY COVERS THE COST. WE HAD ONE EMERGENCY AND THEY REFUSED TO SEE OUR DOG. HE NEEDED SOME ANTIBOTICS FOR HIS STOMACH AFTER GOING TO DOGGIE DAYCARE. AND IT'S NOT CANCELLABLE. IT'S NOT WORTH THE COST. DO NOT GET THE INSURANCE DO NOT GET THE INSURANCE DO NOT GET THE INSURANCE

We have taken our dog here since she was 10 weeks old. We had a wellness plan with Banfield. It all seemed worth it until there was something actually wrong with my dog. At which point I called this location, in tears, because my dog was blatantly sick and they let me know that the doctor “had a very expensive surgery that was going to take most of the day” (exact words) and that I needed to call a different location. No concern for my dog whatsoever. & when I called a different location, which I’ll also be leaving a review for (East Hartford) they had me on hold after I explained to them the situation for 15 minutes, so I hung up, called back, was told that they had too many check ins to handle, and they’d call me back..... and never called me back. Do yourself a favor and find a different vet that can handle routine matters AND will actually take care of your animal when something is wrong, too.

They are absolutely amazing with both my dogs. My wild and crazy dog Tuukka gets so excited when he sees the vet techs. Dr Steinberg was put on this planet to be a vet. He genuinely loves the dogs and what he does and it shows. He spends time with me and explains everything simply and doesn’t push you out of the office

Made an appointment with them for my new puppy. Two days before my appointment they call and say their vets/staff are out and have to reschedule. They couldn’t reschedule me for a whole month (while my new puppy doesn’t get any medical treatment). Three days before my now “new” appointment they call me to tell me there is a “conflict of schedules” and cannot reschedule me any time soon... great.. now I’ve had my puppy for 5 weeks and no treatment. Completely unreliable.

Used them as my cats vet for a long time (about 7-8 years). Everything is great assuming your pet is 100% healthy. Now fast forward to when your pet gets sick or actually needs medical care...they wont be able to help you. 1. They are only open regular business hours so you have to hope your pet gets sick/injured on a 9-5 schedule and 2. Once you do get in their with your pet, they willjust tell you that you need to take your pet to emergency care (which costs a fortune and is not supported by their care plans)and this leaves you wondering why you pay for banfield care in the first place. Do yourself a favor and get a real vet, don't get sucked into one of their "plans" it may seem more affordable upfront but in the long run it is not worth it.
