Spring Glenn is the only place I trust to take care of my furry family. I've been going to them for years. If you want a lifelong vet who will always do right by you and who genuinely loves animals, look no further. I have always been impressed by their caring and professional staff. Whether routine checkups or to give professional guidance on tough decisions, Spring Glenn really takes care of you.

Changing a review from earlier. After feeling frustrated, Spring Glen called me to remedy the problem and was very helpful and attentive to my pet's needs. My dog has a lot of anxiety and they have changed plans to help him, remain patient with him, and make note of what approach works best for him when I bring him in.

My cat porkchop got the rest of his yearly shots today from the fine employees of this establishment less than 10 minutes he was in and out I could not be more satisfied with the customer service and location!

I was given a recommendation to try this Veterinary Clinic out for my pet. Coming from an already unreliable veterinary practice my first step was to read the reviews from your clients. I must say that although the negative responses don't outweigh the most positive feedback I am shocked in the manner of the responses back to the families that were not happy with your services. I have been a Supervisor in Customer Service for a major corporation and I never would have tolerated anyone speaking or writing back to any unsatisifed customer in such a manner. If you agree with what the customer is saying or not the best response would have been "we are happy for the time we had to care for your pet, it is very unfortunate that you have decided to leave and find other services we wish you well". You have enough good reviews to over shadow the few negative comments being posted. I've decided to look elsewhere I wouldn't want to be spoken to in this manner should I not agree with something and have to ask questions or not agree with the care of my pet.

The attitude from the front desk makes or breaks a relationship. Which is unfortunately why we are leaving this facility to seek out another. When a situation arises where a customer is clearly upset it is the CUSTOMER SERVICE job of the front desk to assist an unhappy customer. Not retaliate with an attitude. Extremely upset and will not be returning to this facility which unfortunately I have been bringing my dog to since she was a puppy. Such a shame.

We've been at Spring Glen vet for 3+ years, initially for our first rescue puppy and more recently for our second rescue. Both dogs have had minor health issues that crop up and Spring Glen has been there 100%. They are extremely responsive our our needs and very helpfully have an electronic system and communicate quickly via email. Dr. Mags and the crew spend time teaching us about our pets' health issues, which is so helpful. We're so happy to have a local vet who cares!

Dr.Mags is great. We have been going there for 3 years with our pug and couldn’t be happier with how he and the staff take care of him. He is very knowledgeable, spends a lot of time with you and just is a great guy who you can tell really cares about animals The clinic is doing a great job with the pandemic

So glad to have discovered this place when I adopted my first dog, a senior rescue with chronic illness. Dr. Mags sat on the floor with Andre during the first appointment to do the exam where Andre was comfortable and spent a lot of time going over his issues and needs and options and was understanding and realistic about my financial constraints. Over the following months the staff and Dr Cosgrove were great-- always willing to answer questions by phone or email and I have yet to meet a staff member who is not kind and helpful. when Andre had to stay for the whole day for a test Kayla and the tech staff put up a gate to make a little area for him with them at reception so they could keep him company instead of leaving him in a cage alone to bark and be afraid which reassured and meant the world to me and my blind, older, sick dog who had been neglected by pervious owners. When Andre suddenly declined and we had to put him down at Central Hospital Dr Cosgrove still answered my email at 8pm on a Friday night to talk me through what might have happened to my baby and was so kind-I still remember him saying "you always did right by Andre" and how that was exactly what I needed to hear at that moment. He was so kind and helpful and spent a good deal of time with me on the phone- and they made no money on the event as my dog was seen elsewhere. They even sent a sympathy card. I was happy to be back with them when I brought little Murphey into my home and they have continued to be helpful, compassionate and patient with my sometimes-neurotic questions and concerns. When Murphey was injured they worked him in to be quickly screened to determine what he would need next immediately and only charged for a tech visit. I found their pricing to be equally or often favorably comparable to other practices when I was first looking for a vet and since then I have always been 100% confident that they put the wellbeing of the animal first, period. They are not looking to soak you when they recommend things (and usually the most expensive things are done elsewhere anyway). Dr Cosgrove often references research he has recently read and both docs seem to stay up to date and take genuine interest in the animals. TL;DR: knowledgeable, compassionate, great staff who have your pet's best interests at heart. Sensitive and helpful to prioritize based on financial constraints.

As always the staff at Spring Glen Vet is super friendly and very accommodating. They understand my dogs and treat them well. My Griffin had to come and get blood drawn after he didn't cooperate with the specialist He was in and out without incident and Dr. Mags followed up with me on the results. I recommend Spring Glen whenever someone is looking for a vet recommendation.

My first visit at Spring Glen Vet with my cat today was really positive. The staff were all very friendly to us both and Dr. Cosgrove was tremendous in explaining all my options in detail -- transparent, knowledgeable and courteous. I'm so happy I found this clinic.

Very impressed with Dr. Mags and the staff. I brought my two kittens yesterday for the first time, and will now consider this place (and Dr.Mags) as “our” vet. I was a little confused about the intake process now with Covid, but now I know to wait in my car instead of outside in the cold Waiting for someone to open the door! All together it was an excellent experience.

Not knowledgeable veterinarians . Poor assessment skills and misdiagnoses. Horrible experience since Dr. Cohen left. Doctor wanted to run unnecessary tests and MRI on senior dog for a condition that is not treatable. Gave my dog medication which made her rear legs temporarily paralyzed . Try to Defend himself by saying that medication can make a dog drowsy. The dog was completely alert, but she could not move her rear legs for 2 hours. I never gave it again. Not trustworthy doctors, Veterinary Techs are kind and caring. RUN!! Look elsewhere. I never gave a bad review to any business or a person, and there are many reasons for that. Your focus should be the patient and not the owner. Besides your incompetence, and lack of compassion, you are also capable of spreading lies and I can’t allow that for the sake of our furry friends and their owners. There is no financial difficulties here, but rather a genuine concern that you are not capable to medically treat my furry family members. You said that my 11 yo GSD looks horrible, your statement is far beyond of unprofessional , but also cruel and grossly inaccurate. I would never give statement like that, unless I suspect abuse or mistreatment. Your statement was aimed to make me feel bad and had nothing to do with my dog wellbeing or the truth. These photos are taken the same day of my appointment with you. Let the public judge about looks of a 92 pounds , 11 yo GSD with severe and chronic dry eyes and progressive degenerative myelopathy, which btw you never diagnosed, but rather misdiagnosed with arthritis. She probably has that also, but that is besides the point. You DID recommend advanced imaging such as MRI or CT scan, despite the fact there is no tx for her condition but rather confirmation, which I decline to do You never recommended physical therapy or any kind of assistive equipment to help my dog. I can go on and on, but I am not going to. Let the public know the truth and judge the way my dog looks. My dog was a patient of Dr. Cohen since 2010, and we never had any issues. Think about that Dr. Maglailola.

Unfortunately, my dog and I are moving across country, and (he) will no longer be a patient here. But before we go, I wanted to reach out and thank everyone at Spring Glen for how kind and caring you have been not only over the last year but also during this difficult and scary time of quarantine. Havoc and I have loved seeing you all and receiving care at your clinic! I can only say I wish we had known about your practice before the start of my final year here. All the staff here from the techs to Dr. Mags have been entirely considerate, kind, helpful, informative, and above all genuinely caring about the health and wellness of my dog. Thank you, thank you, thank you! I genuinely believe that if you know about this place you'd be silly to take your animals anywhere else! They have incredible hours; a clean, nice office; a dedicated and kind staff; fair prices, and a charming, disarming, welcoming attitude. I have never left here without a smile on my face, and even my dog who always loves the vet has never left an appointment happier! I love this place and am very sad to be moving away.

We rescued our dog, Honey, just as the COVID pandemic began, but Spring Glen staff was still there for us to help get her vaccinations current and help diagnose her allergies. They also followed safety precautions with curbside service, to maintain social distancing while providing great care to Honey. As first time dog owners, they have been amazing any time we call with a question. Honey has always come out of her appointments calm and happy, so we know they treat her right. Highly recommend them as the Vet of choice for Hamden residents.

This is an amazing vet! We are endlessly grateful for the care they provide our cat. Many vets have sent us away without seeing her, making us feel like we did a terrible job raising her. Kayla, Dr Mags, and the rest of their staff welcome us with open arms every time. Dr Mags reassured us we didn’t do anything wrong, that she gets fearful and nothing is wrong with that. They go above and beyond to truly provide individualized care.

I had a very negative experience at Spring Glen Vet. Dr. Magliula said my cat had a heart murmur, high blood pressure, and an enlarged heart. He also strongly urged a $750 cardiology consultation to determine treatment for the enlarged heart. The consultation revealed that my cat didn’t have any of the conditions diagnosed by Dr. Magliula. The cardiologist said the false positives were likely caused by stress, which made sense to me. I was very relieved to find out my cat was healthy after waiting 4 months for the consultation, but I was also very frustrated since I had specifically told Dr. Magliula (when he said she had a murmur) that my cat had been very agitated in the car. He changed the subject, then advocated for the test whose results incorrectly indicated her enlarged heart. He later prescribed medication based on a blood pressure check done under clearly stressful conditions, which led to a falsely high reading. Obviously, I wish I had trusted my gut about the murmur and left right then. Remaining was an expensive and anxiety-provoking mistake. Edited to Respond to the Owner’s Response: As with your non-response here, the phone call it references failed to directly address any of my concerns. It was unclear to me why your wife was also on that call since I don’t know her and presumably she did not care for my cat. Immediately after I agreed to speak with you, she declared that the phone call was being recorded. (Fine with me.) Her interjections escalated an already tense situation into one that was completely unproductive. You both mischaracterized elements of my email, even after I explained them (although I don’t think they need explanation). I stayed on the call for as long as you wanted to talk. Make no mistake, that call was the reason I decided to post a review. Izzy and I appreciate your best wishes.

There are reasons I drive an hour to see Dr. Mags after moving from New Haven. He is super compassionate and has a great personality (and actually loves my cats as much as I do). He also has a way of explaining in an understandable way what's going on, what processes/procedures entail, and what's truly necessary (read: he doesn't suggest things my cats don't really need and always gives options to limit costs). They're the best staff in-person and over the phone, especially Kayla, who I communicate with the most - always helpful and friendly. Last month, one of my cats threw up during the drive and I asked the vet tech who took them from my car for a few paper towels. He came back and insisted on cleaning the mat for me - like, insisted and would not let me do it. That was above and beyond and prompted me to write a review. They really make the experience of going to the vet as stress-free and affordable as possible.

No shame on you both! I am well within my means to express my opinion about my experience (just like you)- for you to invalidate our experience and shame us for expressing our first ammendment rights to freedom of speech is most shameful. You may believe your receptionist was calm and collected on the phone but i did not see it that way- throughout the entire call I could hear Dr.Mags screaming in the background. Regardless of the past unsavory encounters you conducted yourselves in an equally unsavory manner. And your response to my review is frankly petty and expresses just how insensitive you people really are. Get over yourselves and the power trip you're both on. You're supposed to provide a service, not a judgement. Mags and his wife (the receptionist) were both very rude and unprofessional. After a couple of unsavory interactions they refused to see my cat, they defended that they were well within their rights to refuse service to us and that we should take the cat to the emergency hospital. I would not recommend this vet to anyone, they are untrustworthy and just plain rude. My cat of 15 years is towards the end of his life and were trying to make his last days comfortable- in refusing to see us and keeping us waiting they wasted the precious time he has left. I have no respect for these people as they clearly dont respect their customers and patients.

As someone who just moved here I was absolutely thrilled with the service and so put at ease. I’m so thankful for their help with making my pup feel comfortable and safe.

Dr Cosgrove and Sophia were each in turn so helpful and treated me and my cat Baby with genuine care. This was my first trip to this veterinary practice and I will definitely return and will spread the good word amongst friends and family. Thanks so much!
