The staff here care for my critters as though they're their own - makes such a difference to me. Top notch veterinary care from a caring staff - what more could i want?

I have brought my bulldog to this vet for years. Due to covid19 they do not allow you in the office anymore but instead you have to wait in your car in the parking lot which is fine. I brought him for allergies that he gets every other year. I waited an hour in the car. Then got a phone call saying he was ready and I owed almost 600 for tests I never okayed and didnt even know about. They then insisted they tried to call me 7 times but never received one call meanwhile the whole time I was in my car sitting 20 feet from the building. Almost 600 dollars later and the dog is still suffering, I felt extremely taken advantage of. The lack of communication is what made me take the records and leave.

I have been coming here for years now. These past few times my dog gets very worked up and anxious. He barks the whole time we are in here. Last time I came the vet tech was giving him treats so that we could talk and he wasn't barking. This time I came prepared with my own treats, so I was giving them to him so I could her the lady talk and she seemed annoyed that he was barking then told me to stop giving him treats. So I could barely hear what she was saying. They should have on file that my dog gets nervous here and not make us wait forever for the doctor to come in making him more worked up. Might have to change vets.

Our two dogs have been cared for by the staff and providers at Star Meadow for over 11 years. We have always received excellent patient care each and every time. The staff are always happy to see our girls and always compassionate and caring. They are our second family and we love everyone there. The providers are fantastic and experts in care.

It is with a sad and heavy heart that I write this. I have spent years with Star Meadow. I thought they were doing right by my dog. Over the last 10 months, I have spent $20,000 doing every test, treatment, therapy, surgery and medication, because there was something wrong with my dog. Or at least I thought they did everything. Broken heartedly I was wrong. My dog died because they didn’t test for one simple thing, Lyme's disease. Untreated Lyme’s Disease. Don’t think that I have not paid for expensive and thorough blood tests ruling out the rarest of things. I had to rush her to Central Hospital for Veterinary Medicine this week. Within an hour they new it was untreated Lyme’s Disease. Unfortunately, it was now too late. They had Star Meadow fax over her whole record. It showed they never bothered to do that simple, common test. We live in CT. Lyme’s is prevalent among people and pets. Unlike people, she could have been cured. They killed my dog. They had no problem charging me for high costs tests, X-rays, consults, blood work, therapies. I guess it was too cheap to test for Lyme’s. Everyone that I have told this horrible story to over the last few days whole heartedly agree, my dogs death is because of them. Please be aware of them, and please, don’t let your pet die of Lyme’s.

This is the best clinic around. If you're looking for compassionate care and friendly staff, this is the place for you. I would never bring my problem dog anywhere else but Star Meadow, where everyone takes such good care of my Shilo.

The staff is very sweet. Doctors are knowledgeable and are really compassionate. The quality of work is excellent. The office is clean and really nice decor. However, very costly. If the pricing is better, I would have given a 5 stars.

These people are highly unethical . They tried to charge me for a $300 blood work that was needed. Only found out after I questioned the work since my dog had blood work only three months before.

We had Tucker's annual physical yesterday and as always the staff were extremely kind, knowledgeable and caring towards both we humans and our Tucker! Best of all is Tucker's vet Dr. Michelle Melament who makes you feel as if your pupperoni is her only patient. She works with you (doesn't talk "at" you) to ensure your pet is getting the very best care and then follows up with a personal phone call with test results and further consultation. We LOVE her and everyone there! I hope I come back as a dog in my next life so Dr. Michelle could be MY doctor!!!

Excellent place to bring your beloved pets. The staff is kind, compassionate, and sincere. Prior to going there, my faith in the veterinary profession had been shook by a place that was clearly driven by only the almighty dollar and not what's in the animal's best interest. Star meadow (and fox clinic in Newington also) restored that faith. They are exactly what an animal clinic should be: people who choose to work with animals because they love them and empathize with the bond pet owners have with their furry children. Dr de Wolf went the extra mile to make sure my little guy got better when the outlook seemed bleak, and the entire staff shares that dedication.

I love this place. They are sweet and really care about the animals. They also just did a big renovation which is beautiful. However it's very very expensive.

All the staff at Star Meadow are the kindest and most caring of any vets I have every used. From Dr. Battison who is so knowledgable and understanding to the tech who looked out the blanket for Duncan to the secretary who provided much needed consolation over my loss. Duncan and I could not have been in better hands. I highly recommend this wonderful team!! Thank you all!

My experience of Star Meadow is far better than what I have read in the 2 posted reviews. The doctors and staff are gentle and caring. We have had nothing but good experiences with our dogs and cats. We also kennel our dog there and it amazes me that she gets so excited when she sees where we are. She loves going! I am so thankful that we found this clinic.

I'll be brief and to the point, I would say this is one of the most overpriced Vet clinic's in all of New England. After being shocked at our first bill and the outrageous charges for offices visits and services. Not only the prices are terrible, but so were the medical staff, the doctor we were paired with was shutoff and cold to patients. Additionally we had strong indications that the doctor had passed immediate judgements based on breed and showed a sever lack of ability and knowledge when compared to other clinics in the area. Small waiting room, with nowhere to really take the animals. Simply put, I wont return here, nor will my pets. Additionally I would urge you to consider your other options as just about anywhere else would be far superior to this facility. The best thing from our experience would have to be the rest of the staff. Unlike the doctor we met, everyone else in the clinic and behind the counters were extremely friendly and helpful. So in the end at least there is that, and the only reason it could be considered "fair" service. Most sincerely B.Bailey

The initial vet visit was fifty dollars... plus heartworm... plus meds. Fine, that's not the issue. The vet was ok, no major complaints other than her being a little rough cleaning our dog's ears... here is the problem. The vet wanted to just check her ears two weeks later. It's two weeks, and they want to charge us an additional forty two dollars!! No way. Find somewhere else to go, and save the forty dollars for a nice dinner for two. Nothing awesome about this place.
