This dog trainer is AMAZING!!! My dog was aggressive and biting. I went to a training center without success and then contacted my vet who told me, "You need Marty!". They were right. I have been training dogs for years but my dog Cosie was so difficutl to train and I felt so hopeless. After going through the training with Marty, my Cosie is so obedient and a joy to have around. I can't say enough good things about this place. Marty is amazing!!!

I recently adopted a dog- he was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas. Marty helped me learn how to behave in relation to Charlie to elicit the behaviors I want from him. My friend is a veterinarian & she steered me to Smartydog, eventhough there are other doggie schools that are closer to my house. Marty is personable, relatable, and down-to-earth. Support women-owned/lgbtq businesses!!!

Great place to train. They have fantastic covid 19 protocols. Its great for the dog to learn to behave in a distracted environment. Be patient. Learn!

I will never take my puppies anywhere else for training. We took my great dane there a few years ago and since rescuing a pitbull, we take him there too. Marty is SO knowledgeable about dogs and training. My puppy has become fearless through the obstacle courses that she has that promotes bonding between the puppy and his person and confidence in the puppy. My puppy now loves jumping over and on things (outside!). It is amazing to see. She also teaches how to wait at doors, go into a crate easily, how to walk on a leash and so much more. My puppy now goes into his crate with ease! I love these classes so much that I am taking my puppy to them even though I have a broken foot! I didn't want to wait for the next class. Marty makes learning fun with her humor. She makes it feel safe to learn and ask questions. I always recommend Smarty Dog training to anyone and everyone!

I’ve been bringing my dog Buzz to Smartydog for about four years, and he’s gone from completely out of control, crazy, zero training to calm and in control (most of the time). Marty and her team meet you where you and your dog are and help you to develop a relationship using fun and unique challenges. You never know what you’re going to find when you come to a flex class, but it’s never going to be boring. Despite starting from zero with an untrained rescue dog, Buzz has earned Trick Dog Champion and Rally Novice titles and participates in nosework and pre-beginner agility training. There’s kayaking with your dog, an Easter egg hunt, special holiday events, and the Adventurescape is an amazing Rube Goldberg-esque construction that has to be seen to believe. The Flex classes are great for choosing the time and type of class that works for you and your dog, besides being a great money saver compared to most other classes in the area. I’ve seen amazing growth from my dog and other dogs in the classes.

Enrolled my black lab puppy (13 wks) in Smartydog's puppy obedience classes. My puppy , I and my girlfriend Kelley have learned so much in only two weeks! We have learned how a dog thinks and how to better our relationship with our puppy Boomer. If you want to get off to the best start with a new pup, this is the place to go!

Went here for the first time for photos with Santa and we had a very bad experience. Our dog was very afraid of Santa and to make it worse the photos were taken in a very tiny room crowded with multiple people (none of them introduced themselves or said who they were so I’m not even sure who was an actual dog trainer). Santa didn’t speak one word and you’d think he could at least have treats or something to make our dog less afraid. It didn’t seem like the photographer had any experience with dogs either. Anytime our dog tried to run away Santa or one of the other people in the room would just pull on our dog’s collar or leash and choke her to try to get her to stay still. I expected a much better experience from a dog training facility.

Very helpful with my fearful dog. Learned a lot to help him overcome his fears and what he considers fun to do.

Our dog trainer, whose name slips my mind at the moment, was fantastic. Brilliant and entertaining and really helped understand how dogs think and behave, which makes training much more effective.

Attending Smartydog has been life changing for me and my pup. He was so fearful and loud around anyone but my family and coming to classes and being handled by Martha made all the difference for him. He has made so much progress and I can't wait to see how else he transforms thanks to Smartydog.

Do you have a high drive working dog that is making you nuts? Come to SmartyDog, where they are very knowledgeable in directing that energy into positive energy. Excellent trainers, that are very helpful in teaching you to understand and communicate with your dog. The keys to success are the right trainers, a positive attitude and the commitment to see it through. Start with SmartyDog!

Martha is great! She taught us how to Train my dog and we were able to teach her a lot of basic principles Sit, stay, leave it,come. She also provides a lot of enrichment classes to strengthen the bond between human and pet! Martha also is down to earth and a lot of fun! Highly recommend Smartydog!

Bouncie and I have been training for over 4 years,, first with Marty and for the past 3 years with Lorrie. What we have learned at Smarty Dog has been so valuable for preparation in the ring to compete and out of the ring for day to day obedience. This is a well run facility and classes. I have made many friends over the past 4 years, some that I see now when doing practice matches or trials for a title. I get great advice from people who have been training and showing much longer that I have. These trainers years of experience and certifications. I travel from Wilton, CT every weekend to train. I would rather drive an hour to train at Smarty Dog, than to go anywhere else.
