I was amazed how clean this place was. They really go above and beyond to take care of the animals that come to them. I was surprised to see that they also had rabbits, ferrets and other small animals for adoption as well.

Everyone who works and supports this place loves animals. It’s not an easy job. I’ve always had wonderful experiences here with all staff, animals, and the great facility. It saddens me that some people don’t understand that if they hear cats or dogs yowling, crying, or making unsettling noises it’s because they are finally in a safe place and the animals are either acclimating to it-which is hard for some abused/homeless animals, or maybe scared and healing from infections or health issues/life-saving-surgeries in a no-kill center. I said before the staff has always been so kind, patient and knowledgeable. We’re very lucky to have such a great group here.

Wonderful Facility..Immaculate!!Animals are well taken care of..I visit frequent..I am a honest up front person..The Love n care staff give ech animal is Amazing..However Their was a Staff member in the back (young gentleman )who seem Rather Snippy n over Protected twords the animals..I know u care but the animals r not their to stay forever. We all want them to find a Forever home..I had interest in Billy the Puppy as I ask him questions he was annoyed n rather unfriendly to assist me n my little girl in adoption questions..I had to go to the front desk staff whom all were Extremly eager n polite to answer my concerns...This was my experience on two seperate visits..Urs Im sure will b delightful...Also They have a seperate cat facility ,,very clean..Wish this review reminds ppl to be kinder to one another n to be rather open to share these animals with customers at the Westport Humane Society who r looking to Adopt..

We had a wonderful experience adopting a cat from the Connecticut Human Society in Westport. The staff clearly have a passion for animal welfare. We were given a tour of the facility and saw for ourselves that the animals up for adoption were cared for lovingly and that the staff genuinely wanted to find good homes for them. When we adopted our cat, they were obviously excited that we were going to provide him with a forever home and made the process a pleasure.

You know for a buisness that prmotoes itself on the care of animals. These people have done nothing for the abused animals at the "r.w commerford and sons zoo" those poor animals are abused, sad looking and in conditions not suitable for their needs. Shame on you guys for calling your self a human society and inhumanily ignoring animals.

Thank you to the staff of Westport CT Humane Society for walking me through the dog adoption process. I am so happy with my new dog and she is adapting to the three Cats well. Thank you for doing a cat test to be sure she wasn’t reactive to felines before she came home. I couldn’t be happier!

I wish I could leave 0 stars but that’s not an option so I’m leaving 1. I called the Connecticut Humane Society about my dog who recently started growling at my toddler who chases him around and grabs him. I would never abandon my dog but keeping him behind gates or in his cage to keep him away from my daughter is just cruel. My dog is not vicious and is the sweetest boy in the world he just doesn’t like small children which is EXTREMELY common for dogs! All I was trying to do is find him a kid-friendly, loving home that he deserves. The Connecticut Humane had the AUDACITY to tell me the only thing they could do for me is euthanize my dog. I’m sorry but are you kidding me? I feel sick just even typing this. You think it’s okay to kill a dog because they don’t like being chased around and their tail pulled by a 16 month old? He’s never once growled at any adult! He’s never even bit anyone! And they tell me my only option is to kill my dog. Do yourselves a favor and find a shelter/adoption agency that actually CARES about animals. Absolutely disgusting.

I got my wonderful kitty KC here, and they were absolutely amazing with the info they gave about caring for him. I totally recommend adopting a pet here--they have so many sweet animals that need your help!! The volunteer that helped us at the Westport location was really awesome and my family couldn't have asked for a better adoption. Thank you!!! --Eliza
