My first visit here was very pleasant. I found the vet and staff to be friendly, caring & informative.

Lakes Veterinary Services handles business 10 out of 10! When my best friend passed on 9/11/21 unexpectedly, Lakes Veterinary sent the most beautiful personalized card, I will never forget the thoughtfulness that goes into that. Thank you Doc for understanding my situation with my elder dog, they are a group of the best at Lakes, take the time to care and listen genuinely, goes a long way for me to know that, not only the thoughtfulness but they know what they are doing, the Doc is a grade A surgeon! My elder dog had a growth that they removed and was a completely successful surgery. Glad to have them here in Branford CT.

Dr. Malek and his staff are wonderful. I moved here recently and Dr. Malek picked up my Ollie's care, he was a senior feline and developed cancer. Appointments were readily given and the very last appointment was handled with respect and great care of my feline friend. If I can move on to another fur person, they will certainly be seen to by Dr. Malek.

Didn't feel comfortable there. Wasn't happy with the way it is setup inside. Not a very pleasing environment. Blood work was done that I wasn't informed that it was added on instead of included in the visit. I was surprised with a very large bill at the end. I never received a return call regarding blood work results. It was a temporary visit, I couldn't get my dog in Branford vet so I tried this office.

Dog was suddenly ill with an infection. Have been here once B4. Staff is very helpful & was able 2 squeeze us in. Rec'vd good care @ good price with antibiotic to clear up issue. Gr8ful

Thankful to have found this vet. From the front desk staff to the doctor, everyone was great! They understood the concerns we had for our tripawd and reassured us about the procedure that will be done. They called us right away after the surgery to let us now the findings. We drove 45 minutes to get to this vet and will continue to go there. They also did a complimentary nail trim on our pup which was very nice as well! Thank you Lakes Veterinary!

I love this practice. They all really care. Dr. Malek is kind and doesn't treat you like the most important thing about you is the size of the check you write for services. After having very poor experiences at Shore Haven Vet Services Lakes treated my sweet geriatric cat during the end of life and I couldn't be more grateful.

I had heard many good things about this place and I was not disappointed. You can tell that the staff really cares about their customers and their pets.

Went for the firsr time the other day and everything was just a positive experience.

Phenomenal. Staff was so nice and booked my Willie pug the next day and I'm a new patient! You can go in with your pet, which is a BIG plus these days and Dr. Malek is so kind and funny. I am so pleased with everything about my experience!

The best place to take your fur babies, never a long wait ,the doctor is good

We have been very lucky with the care that Dr. Malek and his team provides to our pets. The doctor and the staff are very friendly, very invested in the care of the pets and we are just very happy we found them. Our 2 year old dog had to have surgery about a very weird mole and they did their best to accommodate us in their schedule as quickly as possible; they have taken us in same-day appointments to address urgent issues with our dogs, and just overall the service and the attention has been exceptional, every single time. My family couldn't be happier about finding Dr. Malek and his team. If I'd have more stars to give in this review, I would without a doubt.

Everyone there is very nice. I asked several questiona and got all the answers I needed.

(4/I4/21- I updated my review today with more positive feedback after having two more visits since the original post.) I've been here with two different cats and both experiences have been great. Doctor Malek and the staff are very helpful and accommodating. All four times I have called, I was able to get an urgent appointment the same day or the next morning, including one last minute oral surgery. On the most recent visit, they already had a packed full day and were still able to make time to check out our cat. Its quite obvious that the safety and well being of their patients is the priority at Lakes, even if that means having to move things around during an already hectic day. Also, I have to say the assistants have all been so great, especially at keeping her calm as the doctor does his exam, even with high anxiety, defensive cats like ours! This was a huge relief, since her anxiey was a big part of the reason we may have put off less urgent vet trips in the past. Also, It was really easy to switch over to Lakes from another Vet. The first day I called, the staff got intouch with the previous vet on our behalf and had all her records sent over by the time we had the exam the next morning, and I so appreciated not having to have any akward phone calls. As well, the billing is always straight forward and transparent. Dr. Malek has been understanding of our limited budget and is always honest and thorough when explaining what items we really need and what we could probably do without. After the initial exam if there is anything that needs to be done he explains the options and the associated costs before going ahead with any procedures. I appreciate having the opportunity to make decisions about what services he will render - and its really nice to get a bill without surprises. I highly reccomend Dr Malek and Lake Ventrinary Services and cant think of a reason to go anywhere else.

I adopted an 8-year-old Lab with chronic health conditions and Dr. Malek and the office staff were always so kind and thorough with her. I always felt like they laid out all the reasonable options and were non-judgmental about the choices I made. Their prices were reasonable too in my opinion -- definitely in line with my expectations/research. I'd highly recommend working with them. One high point for me was that because they're a newer practice, they were usually able to get Rosa in on very short notice. I don't think they have dedicated office staff 100% of the time so if they happen not to make it to the phone it is more than worth calling back because they're super friendly and will likely get your pet in soon.

Always kind, caring & wonderful with my girls. (2 older cats) attantitive to my questions & explains all, in a way that I completely understand. Although I struggle to leave my girls behind when necessary, I do it in full confidence that they are in the best care. I very highly recommend Dr Malek & the staff at Lakes.

This is the third time we have come to Lakes Veterinary. Dr. Maklel is a kind and excellent veterinarian. Twice we saw him for emergencies. One of our beloved cats we were sure she was dying. He took care of her and sure enough she was back to her old self the next morning. Yesterday, our other cat are a piece of chocolate, which is dangerous for animals. Dr. Malek asked us a lot of questions and then proceeded to care for him. This morning, Sonny is back to his old self. Thank you Dr. Malek and your kind staff for your excellent care of our beloved pets. There is no need to see any other veterinarian other than Dr. Malek.

After having a bad experience with another local vet in town, I decided to switch to Lakes Veterinary Services. Dr. Malek is very kind and caring and I am so happy I made the change. I have a diabetic cat which can be very costly, and I have to say Dr. Malek was very reasonable. I highly recommend to anyone in search of a new vet.

1st visit. Doc and staff were great. Spent time and answered all our questions. Good covid safe protocols too.

Dr. Malek is the best vet I have ever met. His passion and kindness are very obvious and his staff are just as nice and professional. I brought Zelda, who is out 6 year old Weimardoodle today. It was her first time to a vet for anything other than shots and spay. Tomorrow we will be bringing our 15 year old Silky Terrier, Teddy. It is always good to meet very nice people who love what they do. I highly recommend Lakes Veterinary Services!
