Letting go of God's precious gifts, our pets, is one of the hardest things to do in life; especially when you are the one making that decision for your fury companion. But if you want to bring beauty and peace into the passing of your …

I had been struggling with my little pup for about a month and going back and forth on whether I was making the right choice to put him to sleep or not. I called his primary vet who called me in for an appointment and didn’t broach any of …

Dr. Washburn came to help our two dogs transition from life to death during the 2021 holidays. It was horrible, of course, but having the ability to let our best companions die peacefully in their home with their people all around, rather than having to deal with the anxiety of a final vet visit, was priceless. Dr. Washburn was compassionate, considerate, and kind. She sat on the floor with us, introduced herself to the dogs and gave them lots of love, then explained what she was doing before she did it and told us what to expect along each step of the way. Despite our misery, we felt safe and cared-for. One dog was able to have a home burial but the other was too big. Dr. Washburn transported him and we picked up his ashes about a week later. While at-home euthanasia is pricey and that price rises with add-ons such as cremation and keeping the ashes, I would pay it all over again for the comfort we all received in having our dogs die at home. I deeply appreciated that all costs incurred were paid up front, from the doctor visit to the euthanasia to the transportation fee, the cremation, and the lovely wooden box we received when our dog's ashes were ready for retrieval. The last thing I would have wanted was bills showing up weeks later reminding me that my buddies were gone.

We had the horrible decision to put down our precious dog Molly at the beginning of 2022. Not a good way to begin the New Year. Dr. Andy Manchett performed the euthanasia for us. He was very compassionate, empathetic and answered all of our questions we had. I highly recommend Home With Dignity to anyone who knows they are absolutely ready to have their pet put down. Our only concern was the fact we couldn't get a hold of anyone over the holiday weekend. We had numerous questions we would have liked to have asked before the Dr. came to our home and they were unavailable to us. Please, please, Please make sure you are absolutely ready to let go of your pet before calling Home With Dignity.

During one of the most stressful times in a dog-parent's life, Home With Dignity went above and beyond making this difficult process smooth and hassle free. Thank you for providing this service.

I can't express how comforting it was to say goodbye to our Mochi here at home. Dr.Washburn made the experience as peaceful as possible by accommodating our needs as well as his. We were able to keep him in a quiet state until he was asleep and then hold and comfort him until he breathed his last. After he passed we were able to allow our other pets see that he was gone and collect some paw prints and say our final goodbyes. We will use their services in the future rather than making the trip to a vet, this was so much less stressful for him and us.

This was one of the most difficult times in our lives having to say goodbye to our sweet baby Shylae. We had almost 18 years with her and had to make the difficult decision to let her go. From the first phone call to the final goodbye we were treated with such care and compassion. Even during this difficult and emotional time, they let us know they cared as well as assured us that we were doing the right thing. The compassion we were shown through the entire process was amazing. I would highly recommend Home with Dignity to anyone who prefers a less stressful option of having your pet home when they take their final breath. As hard as it was, we know it was her time to go and end all the pain and suffering for our precious girl. We know she is now running pain free with the ones that passed before her and will be waiting for us when it comes time for us to meet again. Patricia was patient and compassionate over the phone when I couldn’t find the words or strength to make this decision even when I knew I had to. Dr. Matchett took his time explaining everything to us as we prepared to let her go and gave us the private time we needed as a family to say our goodbyes. He was amazing and treated us as well as our precious girl with the utmost respect. Thank you for the care you gave to our precious little girl.

The experience with Dr. Jim Humphries and his assistant, with our dog Kismet was better than any other we have had in the past. It's never an easy decision to make to let your fur baby go. We were able to sit on either side of Kismet, pet and love him and say our last goodbye. I will never forgot the kindness, compassion and time they took to let our baby go. Thank you so much for the care you showed.

Dr. Humphries is one of the most compassionate, sensitive humans I've ever met. My lionhearted boy was suffering. Dr. Humphries came to meet Tank & I under the promise of accessing Tank's condition without a foregone conclusion. He offered me an alternative plan for Tank's possible healing which gave Tank & I eight more weeks together. Though Tank didn't heal completely, he did improve for a while. I am eternally grateful for that time. Tank's injuries multiplied. He was never going to enjoy the things he so loved doing. Dr. Humphries met with us again and eased Tank out of his suffering. I miss Tank ever so much though I am grateful to Dr. Humphries for his wisdom, kindness, empathy and compassion. The service he provides is so humane and so needed by those of us who love our non-human Beings enough to let them go.

A month ago today, Dr. Humphries and Dr. Matchett helped with the passing of my old black lab. I knew I had called the right place from the initial conversation with their office staff, Shelly. She, despite my blubbering during the initial phone call and understanding every word I said, made me feel like I was their most important client. Dr. Humphries was a true professional during the appointment, explaining every step of the process, never feeling rushed. The vet that accompanied him to the appointment, Dr. Matchett, made the entire process bearable, a kind man, just like a warm hug wrapped up as a veterinarian. Despite the sad circumstances, I would wholeheartedly recommend Home With Dignity.

It was time for us to say goodbye to Boo. It was a hard decision but Dr. Humphries helped us understand that what we were doing was right for Boo our Great Dane. As much as it pained us we had to let her go, her time had come. Even though Boo was deaf, he talked to her in such a peaceful and calming manner. Everything he did that day was with compassion, respect and understanding for the loss we would have. Being able to have him come to the house, relieved Boo of the stress of going to the Vet's office. He told us what would happen and what to expect. He put us at ease and patiently gave us the time we needed to have our last moments with her and say our goodbyes. At least we can now feel that she is at peace. Thank you not only for the service you provide but the peaceful way in which you do it. Ben and Carmela missing our girl Boo...

I can't say enough about how special this business is. From the moment Dr. Humphrey and Dr. Matchett walked in our home, we felt at ease putting our sweet Harley dog in their hands. Their caring manner and talking us through the process of how Harley was transitioning and feeling was so comforting - it made a very difficult time for us truly a beautiful experience. Our other three dogs were able to be in the room and I think helped them to understand what was happening to their brother. I recommend with all my heart Home With Dignity's special service.

Dr. Humphrey was professional and kind. He took the time to find out how Honey came into my life and why she was so special. With a zen candle and YoYo Ma’s Six Evolutions and a waterfall on a picture frame we created a safe and loving atmosphere for Honey to cross over to the other side. Thank you much.

Don't look any further than Home with Dignity and Dr. Jim for your special 4 legged friend. We had to let my 15 year old pup cross the bridge with another home euthanasia service in COS, and our other 13 yo dog ended up declining very shortly after and we made the tough decision to let her cross too. The other service we used was fine, but Dr. Jim and his wife Patricia's compassion blew them out of the water. Patricia was so kind on the intake phone call, answered all questions and sympathized with us losing two dogs in a week's time. We set the appointment for a couple of days later. Dr. Jim arrived right when he said he would, and took the time to get to know our Hana girl (and us!) while physically assessing her. After giving her some sedation medicine, then another medication, she passed away in our arms surrounded by our family. Dr. Jim gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye after the process was finished and let us carry her to his vehicle, afterwards giving us all hugs and never once making us feel rushed or annoying for being so upset. These aren't dogs, they're family - Dr. Jim just gets it. The paw prints we were given were perfect and will be cherished for the rest of our lives. Thank you again Dr. Jim and Patricia for making one of the worst weeks of our lives bearable.

Dr. Humphries did an outstanding job with Sophia. He was so caring, and asked the right questions. She was handle with caring and loving hands. She was so peaceful. I was able to receive Sophia from the mortuary in a few days. I was able to spread her ashes in her favorite places in Colorado Springs and surrounding areas. Final resting place at our new home in Texas.

From the initial phone conversation with Shelly, to the day we said goodbye to our Toby, we were treated with caring and compassion. Dr. Humphries was kind, professional and reassuring. His assessment of Toby's condition gave us peace of mind that we were doing the right thing. Toby's passing was painless and peaceful. Dr. Humphries made a difficult time bearable .

Dr. Jim and his staff were wonderful. They took very special care of my kitty and were so calming and reassuring. I would highly recommend this service. It is so much better than taking your pet to the vet. I also have two older dogs and we will certainly be reaching out to Dr. Jim and his staff when that time comes. Thank you so much to Home With Dignity.

If you’re reading this review, chances are you’re facing a heartbreaking decision. There’s nothing that will take away your grief, but Dr. Humphries and Home with Dignity brought us much-needed peace of mind and served our family with extreme compassion. Patricia was so kind and patient as I sobbed during that first phone call. She walked me through everything without a single moment feeling transactional. Dr. Humphries examined my 12 year old Saint Bernard and helped us reach the understanding that we were making the right decision. He treated all of us with the perfect blend of professionalism and empathy. Nothing was rushed, and at no time did I feel like I had to bottle up my tears and my heartbreak. He supported us as needed, and he created space for us to say a proper goodbye. Home with Dignity is truly the perfect name for Dr. Humphries and team. While I wish I did not have to say goodbye to my best friend, I am so grateful that she was able to leave this world with dignity, in a place she felt most comfortable, surrounded by family and love. Thank you, Dr. Humphries and Patricia, for bringing comfort and ease to one of the hardest parts of life.

Our family struggled with the question “ is it time” ? So many great answers found on the website and in personal emails from Patricia. What a wonderful service Jim and Patricia are providing. Our 12 year old toy yorkie would be so stressed going to the vet and this was the perfect answer. Dr Jim listened to our details of her decline, assessed her and assured us that she was suffering and this was the right decision. He was professional, kind, with a little humor and a lot of reassurance. He was so tender with our precious one. Overall he made a would be bad situation a peaceful and reverent one. Would highly recommend home with dignity!!! RIP our little Dulcinea❤️The Childers family

Dr. Jim was wonderfully patient and helped my family get through the challenge of putting our 16 year old chiwiener brownie to sleep. He came into our home and gave us time and space to prepare for the procedure. He explained everything that was going to happen and gave us the time needed. He made brownie's passing much easier for us as well as her. We used a local animal hospital when our other dog had to be put down due to liver disease. The experience with Dr. Jim was much better. It was easier for brownie and for my family. I highly recommend Dr. Jim to help other families when it is time to give your furry family member release.

Home with Dignity made the transition process extremely smooth and comforting. From the very beginning they were responsive, professional, caring and informative. Dr. Humphries was kind and gentle with our pet and gave us peace of mind with the procedure and his expertise. In a sad time we were very encouraged by their great care for our pet. Thank you!

Dr. Jim was amazing. He is so personable, down to earth, yet professional. You can see that he cares for the animals and what people are going through at the saddest time in their life losing their best friend. Thank you for being there for my friend and her fur baby Ginger. What a blessing she chose you at this difficult time. Thank you.

I had made the decision to have my companion, my loyal and loving friend Scarlet, handed to rest, to our Lord. Letting go of Scarlet was a heart wrenching and tear filled process. I guessed the pain she was in, and I knew she would never share that with me, nor would she let her pain interfere with her love towards me, she loved me with all her heart. I called Home With Dignity and spoke with an Angel, her name is Patricia. Patricia helped me see the truth, the love, and the dignity that my baby Scarlet was going to receive. Patricia was patient, caring, informative, and administrative when I needed strength. Patricia beaconed me through the rough waters of this process with certainty and kindness, and professionalism. I loved my baby Scarlet, but I don't feel sorrow, her love outweighs my brief period of grief. Thank you Patricia, Dr. Humphries, and the rest of the staff of Home With Dignity.

In one of the most challenging experiences to go through, Dr. Hutchison was beyond amazing. As a counselor who has worked in hospice care before, I understand what a special person it takes to provide these services. The entire staff was incredibly supportive and professional. I only wish we had used them for another fur baby before. To be able to surround our Gizmo man with peace, comfort and love in his last moments was the most amazing gift. Thank you for all you do.

I was struggling with the decision to let my Ginger go. A friend told me about a place she used. I looked them up and when a lady answered the phone as Home with Dignity, I thought this is not who I'm looking for... Little did I know all the prayers for Gin and I were hard at work. I called my friends suggested place and my experience on the phone was disrespectful and abrasive. There was no way I would ever let them see my girl. I called Home with Dignity back and talked to Patricia for the second time. I knew talking to this kind and compassionate woman, this was who Ginger and I needed at this time. Dr. Humphries came to the house and he was so gentle with his questions about Ginger's medical history. He examined Ginger as if I took her to the vet's office. The whole time my sweet girl was never scared. After the exam when Dr. Humphries was sure she needed his service, he explained what was going on with her. He gave me all the reasons why it was her time to go and only then did I have the courage and strength to continue. I'm forever grateful to Patricia and Dr. Humphries for giving me the strength to help my sweet dog when she needed it most. I was blessed to stumble on to them and I will recommend them to anybody that needs their service.

I loved how Dr. Humphries wanted to get to know my Little man, he listened to our stories, and gave us as much time as we wanted to say goodbye. He was kind and gentle and very discrete.

The whole process was explained to me over the phone and then to my daughter who's dog we had to put down for medical reasons. Very professional in every aspect. If I could give them 10 stars I would. I highly recommend this company for the easy passage to the great beyond.
