I want to say Thank you to Dr. Tricia Hartwig for treating my seven year old cat companion Sammy when she had a high fever emergency. She even took time on Thanksgiving to check on her and give her more antibiotics. I have been a client of TLC for approximately 15 years. Dr Hartwig has always been available when needed, she has been kind, honest and professional with every visit. Thank you Dr. Hartwig for being the best veterinarian I have ever met! Dr Hartwig is fantastic with each of my fur-babies, and helps ensure that I have the knowledge I need to be a good pet-parent. She obviously cares about my animals and communicates clearly to me what needs to be done and why. I appreciate her ability to translate to me what is going on with them at each life stage.

Through three different veterinarians, annual vaccination trips to the vet became something I absolutely dreaded! Whatever the energy was between doctor and doggie, it was to the point of having to muzzle my dog (with good reason). Then we found Dr. Hartwig. With the first visit, our dog was doing the full body shivers, but the more she talked to him during his examination the more relaxed he became. With our second visit, she examined him, then Dr. Hartwig and I discussed future treatment plans.. Well, Sparky must have gotten bored with the people talk because the next thing I see is my dog relaxed and stretched out on the floor waiting for us to finish. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect that, based on his stressful past visits. Thank you, thank you, thank you Dr. Hartwig.

Dr. Hartwig is hands down the best vet we've ever had. She is the perfect combination of logical and compassionate for a vet. She is great at getting to know her patients and understanding their owners, so whether discussing kennel cough in our puppy, or liver failure in our senior dog, she knows how to approach the subject best with us, on our level. I appreciate how sweet and gentle she is with our dogs, and even more importantly, our dogs love her! Plus her office is well organized and very responsive.

I have been taking my fur babies here for over 12 years. Dr. Hartwig is knowledgeable and very patient. I have had willing and non willing patients, she sees them all.

Dr Hartwig saved by precious baby Rowdy. He had a mass on his spleen and vet hospital wanted $8-9000 but she did a full splenectomy removed the mass and didn't force me to sell a kidney or lung to pay for it! Very reasonable considering. He is doing great. I highly recommend her. She is very straightforward says it like it is. No B.S. I like that.

In 40 some years of owning dogs and going to Veterinarians in various states, i have never learned so much about animals in one sitting as i did with 1 hour with Dr. Hartwig. She's extremely careful in her questions for caregivers, makes us do our jobs, and oozes love for the animal she is caring for. I am ruined for any other vet. She found a major problem that the prior vet swept right over.

Great vet that cares about pets. She was able to get rid of a stubborn ear infection that my dog had for years and is working with my other anxious dog in a very caring manner.

I used to come to this vet all the time as I lived in Longmont. We moved to Arvada a couple years ago and were trying out a new vet. I ended up coming back here and dealing with the 45 minute drive just because I like the level of service and care my dog received. I drove all the way from Platteville 2 have my bunny look at because it appeared she was on her deathbed but was referred to the hospital because you don't treat bunnies anyway the hospital charged me $200 for an observation and was going to charge me another 2,000 just to have her observed overnight well I had to take her home, she slept by my side for 2 days then snapped out of it she's perfectly fine now. I recently moved to Weld County and am in search of a new vet for my 2 dogs and by the looks of your positive feedback I think I might give you guys a try that is if you're taking new patients.

I recommend TLC Animal Hospital. The personal attention and partnership that Dr. Hartwig gives is unmatched! Her focus is first and foremost on what is needed for your pet, while she also appreciates the needs of pet parents to discuss options openly and partner together on realistic solutions. It was awesome to be able to discuss issues with her over the phone and not have to work through a messaging service or tech.

Dr. Hartwig has cared for all of my pets wonderfully for more than a decade. She always treats my pets with kindness and compassion. She pays attention to the details. She also informs me of the whole range of options, while being clear about the cost/benefit so that I can make an informed decision. She also always takes into consideration the impact of treatment on my pet's well being. I started seeing her when my cat was in treatment for cancer, and both of my dogs have always gone to her. I can't say enough good things about her.

Late last spring, we started noticing a change in our 9 year old lab, Sophie's, mobility. Activities that had been part of her daily routine were becoming a struggle for her...eg. jumping up on the couch, going up and down the stairs, and running around the backyard. After about a week, we knew we needed to find someone who has a heart for animals in need. As we searched the list, Tender Loving Care Animal Hospital sounded like just the place we hoped existed. Within minutes of meeting Dr. Hartwig, her love, concern, and expertise toward animals were apparent. She gently examined Sophie and shared with me that Sophie may have been experiencing pain longer than I was aware. She developed a pain management plan. We started noticing improvements within days. Over the next few months, Sophie experienced some ups and downs. But, with Dr. Hartwig's continued care she improved. Every time I walked in the door, I was greeted with Benjamin's smile. Now six months later, Sophie is back to jumping up on the couch, going up and down the stairs, and running around the backyard. It was an emotional journey made so much easier with Dr. Hartwig's gentle, professional approach. I know Sophie will be well cared for the rest of her life. Thank you Dr. Hartwig and Benjamin!

TLC is the best vet and ive been to a couple in the area. The doctor knows her stuff and cares about the animals. Did a great job on my dogs surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Hartwig.

My 8-year-old cat had a lump on her tail that I had been trying to ignore for a while after a UTI cost me 1200 to treat at a vet in Boulder. I finally decided to try TLC Animal Hospital after moving to Longmont, and I'm so glad I did. Dr. Hartwig is very straightforward and thorough, both in her treatment and explanations of treatment and care plans. Knowing cost was an issue, she helped me make an informed decision to partially amputate my cat's tail, as the lump was too large to remove. She explained how I needed to prepare my home and my cat for post-surgery care, which was immensely helpful as I was able to get my cat to practice wearing an e-collar, be separated from our other cat, practice taking medicine, etc. I felt very confident in Dr. Hartwig's ability to perform the surgery, and knew my kitty would be in great hands. It's been about two months since the surgery and my cat is doing perfectly. As the fur grows back on her tail, you can't even tell there was an incision. When I had questions before and after the procedure, Dr. Hartwig answered them helpfully by phone. On top of it all, I was surprised to find the cost of the surgery, as well as my initial visit, to be far below my expectations (compared to Boulder vets--Dr. Hartwig outlined all of the expenses ahead of time for me, and her estimate was basically spot-on). Another thing I really appreciated about Dr. Hartwig was her friendliness and compassion--I felt guilty for waiting so long to take care of this issue, and I was never once made to feel at fault or ashamed, which I really appreciated. The only issue I've encountered with this facility is that I often have had to leave a voicemail when calling, as the staff is typically busy. If you call and don't get a receptionist, just leave a message and someone will call you back! I can't recommend Dr. Hartwig enough!

We have been bringing our dog to Dr. Hartwig for almost 10 years now. Dr. Hartwig and her staff have always been great to our dog and our family. She took the time to diagnose our dogs thyroid issue where other vets just said to try some new expensive medication. She is honest and you can really tell she loves helping animals. I would HIGHLY recommend TLC to anyone looking for the last vet they will ever need.
