Canine's Canyon Golden, Colorado

This review is specific to the owner. We boarded our puppy here in late September. When I picked him up, it was clear he had picked up kennel cough while he was boarded so I called the next morning to let them know. The owner denied they had an outbreak and said he probably got it from a dog park (which we don't take our dog to). Ok. But he did offer to pay the vet bill if he needed care. The kennel cough turned into a case of severe bacterial pneumonia a few days later, which he was treated for and I submitted the bill. I was then told that they don't pay vet bills, but gave me a credit for future care. I let them know that I would likely not be back, but they said the credit was all they could do. We decided that we would use the credit for day care since the dogs are outside most of the day and at less risk for picking up something. Yesterday, we were in a bind for dog care and I dropped him off. When I picked my dog up, the owner decided it was a good time to berate and belittle me in front of other customers for sending "nasty emails" and informed me that they no longer offer credits for illnesses sustained while in their care. If you didn't want me to come back, why give me a credit at all? I was appalled at the way I was treated and feel the need to share this experience. I think the staff is great with the dogs, but the owner needs a lesson in customer service.

We've been coming here for years. Our pup loves coming to summer camp when we travel. They always take good care of our boy!

We boarded our dog here for the first time last weekend and they were so nice and attentive to her! Normally she’s nervous around strangers, but by the time I came to get her a couple days later she seemed happy, relaxed, and so comfortable with everyone there. We have taken her to other places before and that just wasn’t the case, so I know the staff here took the time to spend with her and get to know her. We will definitely be back, hands down! Thanks to everyone there for being awesome!

Jen is our groomer and I’d follow her anywhere. She grooms our two dogs and always does exactly what we want. The dogs love her.

We love our groomer Jenn Emerson! We have 2 collies with high maintenance coats. Jenn does an amazing job at transforming them from scruffy to Lassie! Jenn is gentle and very good with our girls. She clearly loves her job and our girls love her! we highly recommend Jenn!

Jen is the best!! We just took our rowdy one a half year old lab and our six year old mini poodle mix to get groomed and they’ve never looked better! My little fluffybutt came out so cute!! Totally the best groomer ever

Jen, (newest groomer to Canine’s Canyon) is absolutely wonderful! I have a large, very nervous, shepherd mix that she is so amazing with. I have used Jen for the last 2 years and I am so happy that she has found a new home at Canine’s canyon!! My pup has an undercoat that Jen is able to tame with a De-Shed treatment that allows me to wait about 6 weeks in between grooming without hardly any shedding!! Her cost is very reasonable considering other places around town. She is the only groomer that has been able to make my dog feel comfortable, especially in his old age. My dog always leaves Jen smelling so fresh, fluffy, hardly shedding and most of all, happy and stress free!!! I highly recommend Jen at the Canine’s Canyon to anyone!!! She’s just the best!!

Jen is my favorite groomer! I bring my toy poodle to her every few months and she always remembers the cut I want, even when I make changes, and I know my dog is in loving hands. I will always bring my dog to get groomer by her. Thank you Jen!!!

I go to Jen at Canines Canyon for all my grooming needs! My Chow Chow Bailey is, well, difficult to groom. Jen is so patient and understanding of her fears, and takes the extra time to make sure she looks perfect each time! She is incredible!

Good place for doggie daycare

I left my 9 month old Old English Sheepdog overnight at Canine's Canyon while I spent time in Denver. The facility is wonderful plenty of shade, lots of variety in the yards and comfortable overnight accommodations. The staff were welcoming and introduced Murphy safely to the other dogs. The staff were friendly, professional and confident in handling the dogs.

My dogs love going here. The staff is wonderful. The dogs come back tired since they have a full day of playing

We've been taking our wonderful dog here for several years, sometimes just for a night and sometimes for long 10 day vacations, and have nothing but great things to say about the facility and staff. They care. There are always happy vibes at the front desk. Our dog is loved. Enough said.

Amazing place. Staff is wonderful, caring and professional. Our dogs love it here. When they come home they are tired from playing but happy and always well treated. All the staff from front desk to groomers seem to know all the dogs by name. As a bonus they are good in a crisis. A year ago there was a fire on i-70 not far from the kennel. They decided on an orderly proactive evacation of the dogs . They informed all the customers and pulled it off while caring for the dogs. I picked my dog during their last run so I could see their approach. We've put our dogs for both overnight boarding and occasional day care. Can't say enough about canine canyon!

This review is for the grooming, not the boarding. My pup was not cut as instructed, uneven everywhere, and they tried to give my husband back the wrong dog. They even called to confirm how I wanted him cut and didn’t get anywhere close. I can’t wait until this disaster grows out so he can get a better cut.

The new "managers" particularly Shawn are a joke. When the owners decided to go into semi retirement and turn this place over, they really made a huge mistake.

Max (the yellow lab) and I absolutely love Canines Canyon. The people who work here are terrific and you can tell reall love dogs. Max goes for day care and has been in for extended stays. Last year, there was a situation where a wildfire approached the facility. The staff handled the situation expertly. Owners were called and the dogs taken to a safe location for pickup. The staff coordinated pickup in a considerate and professional manner. I can’t say enough wonderful things about this facility and the staff.

I wouldn't trust my dogs with anyone else!

We used to board our dog here, as sometimes we both travel for work. You can tell they do love dogs here, but ever since we started boarding ours at Canine's Canyon, he picked up some bad behavior traits like aggression, threatening to bite, etc. These were never issues until we started boarding him here. They allow the dogs to play together during the day, which the dogs enjoy but obviously there's a negative byproduct of that, where the aggression isn't regulated well enough. We finally decided to stop sending him here after he got Bordatella two visits in a row. They were unwilling to refund us for vet bills on the second case, after we had easily given them over $1000 in boarding costs already. We moved to another facility since and have been happy with the results and treatment of our pet.

Our two dogs love going there. It's like doggy summer camp for them. The staff take very good care of them; and the in house groomer is excellent.

It says alot when he always races in and sometimes doesn't want to leave! He adores the staff, we love the staffing consistency. In 2014, we promised our ill daughter that we would always take care of her "bed buddy." We will be forever grateful to Teddie; he deserves GREAT yet affordable care and time with his furry buddies. After researching and sampling some of our local kennels, we chose Canine Canyon (CC). Not only for how well the staff interviewed then, and continue to do so, but also because of how Teddie behaved and demonstrated how much he enjoyed his stay. Over the past 4 years we have not had an experience that was negative at CC. The staff have routinely gone out of their way to be of assistance for our unexpected changes in daycare/boarding needs or even a few dog training questions now and then. A happy dog = happy (grand) parents! ????
