CityVet checks all the boxes. Their staff are really just wonderful. Great with communicating, great with presenting the clinical picture, they are just great all around. So happy with my visit today, and I will continue to return to CityVet.

Firstly, they made me do “curbside pickup” with my kitten. Then they saw her when there was clearly physical problems, and sent me away saying she was fine. Had to rush her to the emergency vet later that same afternoon.

Dr. Mercuri, along with the rest of the great staff at city vet, were awesome with Luna! They took great care of her and took the time to answer all of my questions. I didn’t feel rushed at all and I didn’t have to wait long either. Highly recommend this location to anyone!

They seem to be good at keeping appointment times and running a timely schedule, which seems to be hard to find around here in general so it is very much noticed and appreciated! The staff are all super friendly and loving towards my puppers!

I am shopping around for a new vet and decided to try this one out as my 6 mos old puppy has a limp that caused me to schedule an appt. I have had a total of 4 german shepherds over the past 20 years. The vet here talked to me like I had no clue about the breed even after I said this was my 4th one and the best puppy I have yet to raise. Told me how sloppy the paperwork was from the rescue group and that he needed a few vaccines. He only needed the rabies and bordatella. The vet seemed more interested in pushing vaccines and heartguard prevention on me when I was actually there for my dog limping. I turned down the complimentary heartguard chew and he then proceeded to tell me how I was putting my dog at risk. He never even asked if I might be doing something else for prevention, which I am. Also, said like three times how my puppy was not socialized. After the third time, I stated that he actually has been socialized. The vet constantly stood with his arms crossed and didn't think about it until later but dogs are very smart and will pick up on body language. Either he is just a terrible vet or he doesn't like german shepherds. Would not go back nor ever recommend this place or any other chain veterinarian hospital. Still shopping for the best vet yet........

The staff got me into an appt with less than 2 hrs notice, and I had no wait when I came in 10 minutes early for the appt. The techs and the Dr were really nice, friendly, handled my geriatric cat well, and were very attentive to my cat, my questions, and other general care.

I brought my 12 yo black lab here about 7 weeks ago, because he was suddenly not lifting his head and having right shoulder/leg pain. They kept him for 8 hours and then the vet told me over the phone that he didn't really notice any pain, but it could be due to arthritis. They ran labs and the vet said he's really healthy for 12 yo. He sent him home with medicine to treat nerve pain and arthritis. My lab never really got better. He had a limp on his right leg ever since that visit and on Thanksgiving morning he stopped walking on his right leg altogether. I took him to Dumb Friend's League Veterinary hospital because they successfully treated my lab in the past for happy tail. They had my lab for 3 hours. They brought me into the office to tell me they examined him and found a hard mass on his right shoulder, did an xray, and determined by the size, structure, location, and history that he most likely has a malignant bone tumor and maybe has 1-2 months to live. They sent him home with more meds to keep him comfortable. Unfortunately, we don't have the $4k-8k to treat his cancer, which would only buy him 4-6 months more to live. Apparently it's a really aggressive cancer and could have already spread to his lungs. It's clear the Veterinarian at City Vet didn't examine my lab thoroughly and never took x-rays. This is disgraceful and I am writing this review only to caution others of the poor care my pup received. I believe they are the kind of Veterinary who only cares about money and less about the pet's life. FYI, City Vet charged me $230 that includes the exam and the labs. I'm sure the xrays would have been extra, which I wouldn't have had a problem paying if they suggested it. Dumb Friend's League charged me $150 for the exam, labs, and xray. Also, City Vet charged me $48 for one of the pills that Dumb Friend's League also prescribed us, double the dose as before, for only $20. In addition, Dumb Friend's League offered me a 6 month payment plan with no money down if needed. I could understand the increase in costs if the quality of care was better, but that's not the case here.

Don't usually write reviews but this one had to be said. Brought my puppy German Shepherd to his first Vet visit and I couldn't be any happier with the customer service I & Puppy received. A special shoutout to Virginia from the front desk, she is exceptional!! Helped me carry puppy food all the way to my SUV because my hands were occupied carrying my puppy. She went the extra mile and cleaned my puppy's throw up from the back so he can have a good ride back home. Thank you Virginia, you're awesome and deserve a $5 raise.

This place is great! The staff are always welcoming and you can tell that they are true animal lovers. I have been getting my cat groomed here and it’s been the best experience. Molly is so caring and friendly and you can tell she really loves what she does. My cat always comes home smelling amazing and she’s so relaxed. Thank you Molly for pampering my baby!

So lucky to have such a great vet here! They are always so nice and kind to us- techs, veterinarians, everyone. I have never felt like I’ve left with questions or that I couldn’t call them if I had any. I highly recommend them.

The BEST vet in Denver, I won’t take my pet to anyone else. They are kind, caring, informative and really just want the best for you and your animal. They will never pressure you into anything and are happy to give the costs whenever you ask. They have always showed me all options at all price points and talked through the pros and cons of each one instead of just pushing the more expensive choice. They are so great with my cat who normally has pretty bad anxiety. Just overall the best staff you can ask for!

Went here for the first time as my usual vets at Goodheart Animal Health Center had no availability. I was saddened and displeased with how they treated my cat. It seemed like they had overbooked themselves and we only got 10 mins with the vet (despite paying for a full wellness exam). Although I think we got what we needed the staff spent no time trying to get to know my cat and make her feel safe and comfortable. I have an extremely sweet friendly cat and it was traumatic for both of us to see her handled that way, hissing and yowling with a towel over her head. At places like Goodheart the vet will spend a full hour to do a wellness examination and take the time to get to know your pet, feed them a treat or two and care for them gently all for the same price. My cat has never hissed at any staff member at Goodheart nor any other stranger who I have introduced her to and who has taken the time to meet her properly. I wish I had advocated more for my cat’s well-being and I hope that others will watch out and avoid this facility.

I am so relieved to have found Dr. Dickens. Me and my 9 year old dog just moved to Denver from Dallas and we were family with the vet and staff at CityVet Dallas. When I found out there was a cityvet location in Denver I was thrilled but still nervous for the new change. The team was responsive when scheduling an appointment and I am blown away by the service we got. The young lady at the front desk was so sweet and answered all of my questions. The vet tech came out and instead of just taking my dog to the back he sat down with me and got to know me and my dog and the reason for the visit. My dog has been having a tough time adjusting to the dry heat and altitude and I wanted to make sure he was ok. I dropped him off and an hour later Dr. Dickens was calling me to give me an update. He was so friendly and welcoming, and I can tell how much he loves what he does. I appreciate the warm welcome more than i can put into words. It makes a big move and transition so much easier. Just from one visit I feel comfortable taking my dog there and know he will be in great hands.

We started coming here when we moved to Denver. The vets were so nice and the timeliness was on point. Recently, we started getting a lot of problems. I don't know if it's pandemic related, but the customer service, provider communication and availability has gotten tough. We ended up wanted to find another vet after our last visit with them. They did very good in the beginning, I was sad to see the service slip.

Not sure why my updated review for this place seems to have disappeared but I want to reiterate. We took our Great Dane here when we first brought him home for puppy shots. At first it seemed to go really well, albeit pricer than where we take him now. My Great Dane then developed an ear infection, so we took him back. We were told it was likely not major and given medicated ear drops. When these didn’t work, he went back and was given antibiotics. Those seemed to work until his prescription ran out and it came back again. We took him back a 3rd time and was given a steroid. This also only helped his symptoms until he ran out and by that point we were done wasting money on what felt like trial and error. We then took him to another place and they were able to diagnose it first try and give us a treatment that worked. They also told me they would refuse to do his stomach tacking surgery (needed for Great Danes) unless he was also neutered at the same time. I expressed my disagreement and didn’t want him neutered as young as he was seeing as it goes against all medical advice pretty commonly known. After all that and noting how expensive this place is, would really recommend taking your pets somewhere else. Definitely cheaper and better vets around.

After bringing our new puppy in for his first round of shots, we were told it was too soon to receive them by Dr. Dickens. He provided us with our pup's first round of heartworm meds, pet our puppy, and sent us to the counter with a $70 bill. I felt taken advantage of, just a little, and so I called them up, hoping to speak with the vet to clear things up. Instead, I got a lady named Mary. If you look at any negative reviews on here or Yelp, you will know all about Mary. When asking for a refund, she quickly acquiesced, but promptly told me that since 'the trust is broken', we should go find another vet. Fine, no problem here, especially after reading about the hidden charges they sneak into customers' bills. Overall an untrustworthy establishment; overpriced and dishonest, CityVet gets by on location and a profit-first, pet-second business model. I am only giving this two stars due to Dr. Dickens' professionalism and the fact that Google penalizes the visibility of new 1 star reviews.

Great no BS vet office. Such a different vibe versus other places in town that put their pockets before your pet's health. Our pet was in pain and the staff had us in and out very fast with minimal wait between tests. We are very lucky to have this vet office in our neighborhood!

I would not recommend going to this place at all. Please make sure to call around to other vets first because this is the most expensive vet in the city. Just make a phone call to others first !!! You'll be happy you did.
