I adopted a 2-year old silver lab mix from a shelter a few months ago, and though he is the sweetest dog alive with me, he was NOT good with strangers or new people coming to the house. 7 different people had given up on Oso for various reasons. He would bark, growl, jump - basically just enter a state of frenzy. He would even nip at strangers. I tried everything (and I mean everything), but nothing was really getting through to him. After one session with Scott (where he mainly just taught ME what to do), I can totally feel the power balance shifting between me and my dog. I love that Scott's method has levels of corrections, and really what I was most impressed with is how well he understands dogs. I feel like I can talk to my dog in a way that he understands now, and I know how to set boundaries that he will respect. I can't wait to have more sessions, and I think the lifetime guarantee will absolutely be worth it. The difference I saw in ONE SESSION was so encouraging, I'm looking forward to doing daily training and homework. If you have a difficult rescue, DON'T give up - call Scott!

I worked with someone else in Denver for a few sessions and tried to follow some online training programs before we found BarkBusters...well, we could not be happier with BarkBusters and Dan! We have two aussies who were both leash reactive. One was especially reactive in our home when people would come over or just walk in front of our house. He also would go crazy at friends' houses; he literally would start barking aggressively at anyone who made sudden movements, even if he knew them already. Dan was easy to work with; he explained why certain things might be happening, the way dogs think/associate things, and offered effective solutions. Just in our first session, I noticed major improvements. Thank you, Dan! Things just keep getting better with our pups!

Scott at Bark Busters has our little guy back on track! After only a week, we are seeing drastic improvement with our dog, Alfie, a havanese who has always struggled with anxiety, leash aggression, and incessant barking. Now Alfie follows commands, stops barking when we ask him to, and best part, he is walking like a champ. We're no longer embarrassed to walk him down our street and past other dogs. We are very happy with Alfie's progress so far, and we can't wait to see where he is in another week or two.

Our experience has been amazing. The first training session we saw immediate results with our dogs being calmer and looking to us for direction instead of the other way around. We recommend Adrienne to all our friends looking for help with training.

Scott’s deep understanding of the dog and human relationship helped us understand why Frodo was so destructive. He explained the canine world, dog behaviors and gave us the tools to start communicating with and properly training our boy. I have never seen Frodo so calm and well behaved. Thanks, Scott.

After feeling like there was no hope for the behavior issues of my 1.5 year old Chihuahua mix, I took to the internet to find a qualified trainer in the Denver area. I came across Scott and Bark Busters, the reviews were glowing and the training method was something we had not tried yet. I left the initial call with a sense of ease and hope to control the behavior issues we were seeing. Scott is incredibly knowledgeable, understanding, professional, and kind. My husband and I learned so much in our first 1.5 hour session and saw immense behavior changes in our two little guys in just that first session. I was in shock and awe. After session 1, I was overcome with hope that we could live a peaceful and fun life as a pack. Scott is always available when we have questions or concerns between appointments. He brings a sense of comfort to the sessions and conversations that I cannot put a monetary value on. Before training with Scott and Bark Busters, we struggled with barking at every sound, separation anxiety, crate issues, shaking when anywhere outside the house, snipping incidents, and no structure on walks. After just about 2 months and 2 sessions, our dogs are coming into their own personalities that we have never seen before. They are confident, laid back, and following our lead. We are able to control barking episodes, have made progress on crating and separation anxiety and are now moving on to leash walking. I am so thankful to Scott and his team-- I could go on and on about what they have done for our pack. I would absolutely recommend their services to any dog owner that is struggling.

After 2 other dog training programs, Holly’s behavioral coaching was finally what our sweet boy responded to. Results in an hour and very easy and intuitive for us to repeat. His anxiety is finally under control and he is the happy go lucky guy we knew he wanted to be!

I will forever be grateful for Dan as the changes I have seen in my dog in such a short period of time have been nothing short of incredible. My rescue German Shepherd used to get beyond worked up when a stranger was in my house - he would bark nonstop, growl aggressively, and jump all over the person. Additionally, he became very leash aggressive with other dogs after being attacked at a dog park. Needless to say, I was at a complete loss as far as what to do because my dog was a good dog in every other way, except with strangers and new dogs. That's when I found Dan, and he changed my dog's behavior within ONE session! Dan has been exceptional in the ways he describes how to work with your dog. What I appreciate is that he essentially teaches you how to properly train your dog, he is completely hands off with the dog so that there is no risk of the dog just listening to him and not yourself. Dan is so very patient with the million and five questions I have for him each time I see him, and he is extremely responsive. If I email him, I always get a response within an hour. He is AWESOME, and I highly recommend him! HOWEVER, I will say, do not expect Dan to change your dog if you are not willing to put in the work to train your dog. I spend time every single day to ensure that I am drilling the desired behavior into my dog so that we don't have slip ups. If you are not willing to put in at least 15-20 minutes a day, then don't expect anyone to be able to change your dog. Put in the work, and you will be blown away with the results. Thank you for everything you've done for us, Dan!

We first heard our friends talking fondly about Scott many years ago, at a time when we did not even have a dog. Once we got a puppy, we realized that Scott and his approach were just right for us too. After only one session, Scott had earned the respect and appreciation of mom (me), dad, kids--and of course the dog! Each family member came into the session with a wide variety of ideas/perceptions about how dog training should look and feel, and Scott was able to bridge the gaps and come up with a plan that got buy-in from everybody. It worked because Scott has patience, warmth, and a desire to really understand people, canines, and their unique personalities and situations. He cares--a lot. Plus the dog thinks he's the best :).

We rescued a dog that was found abandoned and in rough shape. She's so sweet to humans but really aggressive towards other dogs, especially on walks. Living in an apartment with an aggressive dog in Denver can be really stressful and my partner and I were feeling hopeless. We've only had one training session with Scott and we can already breathe a sigh of relief. She doesn't pull on the leash, bark at other dogs, and completely ignores them in most cases now. She's respectful in stairwells and when we pass other dogs on leash. All because of Scott's method and the training collar he provided us. Would highly recommend, especially for people who are feeling hopeless with aggressive behaviors and just want to give their dog a relaxing, happy life.

Amazing, within one hour our dog was ready to be trained and listen to us. Scott came in and was assertive and ready to show us he know his sh*t. I can’t wait to keep training her and learning more from Scott to better our dog parenting.

When Scott left our first visit I honestly felt lighter. Being a new puppy mom I was so nervous and unsure of what I was doing and if I was doing it right. With only an hour visit, I saw immediate results. My dog was listening and attentive right away. I can’t recommend bark busters enough! Scott made me feel heard and understood and had an answer for every question or concern I had. So happy I went with this service and can’t wait to keep going on this training journey!

Dan at Bark Busters is awesome!! This training is a GAME CHANGER for anyone looking to have an obedient dog. The process was simple and we got major results after the 1st and 2nd visit... Our 3 year old pup is a different person and a much more relaxed and non-stressed pet!!

We have never been happier since Dan has been working with us and our terrier mix and cattle/pointer mix. There are basic fundamentals that he is teaching us and we are now implementing. First session, immediate results and we've only seen more improvements the more we are consistent and keep up the basics Dan has taught us. If we slip, the dogs will, so we just remember "what would Dan do" and we are back in the swing of it. Bad behaviors have been corrected, there's a lot more calmness and the manners are impressing everyone and giving us peace of mind. Overall, hands down we would, and have recommended Dan to everyone that has a dog and wants a better life for their dog and a more relaxed household.

Dan is wonderful! His knowledge about dog/puppy training is impressive and he does a great job at helping teach you all the tricks of the trade. If you actually stick with the plan and follow his instructions and methods, your dog will be a gem! Dan is easy to work with and extremely kind and accommodating! I would highly recommend this service! I've tried multiple other training modalities and disciplines and this is the first one I feel like that's working and working fast. I've had so much improvement in such a short amount of time with my youngest Aussie. We still have some work to do but we've only just gotten started. I'm grateful for the results I've seen already and excited for the progress we're making every day!

My two rescue dogs and l had a “good enough for me” set-up in our home in Vermont. The Husky mix couldn’t be left alone in the house without eating through Sheetrock and window sills. I couldn’t walk the Shepherd mix because he literally pulled me off my feet when on leash. We made do because we had a fenced-in backyard- Orla stayed outside when l was gone. She had a warm dog house and she loves the snow. Perry got his exercise in the backyard or at a dog park. Our recent move to a second floor condo in Denver changed everything. I had to walk both dogs together 3-4 times per day. Perry came close to dislocating my shoulder with his pulling. With wintery weather coming, it was only a matter of when l fell on the ice, not if. Neither could l leave the house without taking the dogs with me. Orla could easily chew through a second floor window in an attempt to escape. I read countless reviews of dog trainers and know that l struck gold with Dan Gusmerotti. He has provided me with the education, skills and support to become the Alpha my dogs so desperately needed. The unacceptable behaviors driven by anxiety are no longer evident. I honestly would not have predicted this level of success. I would not have believed that l could give my dogs the continued training to keep us all on our best behavior. I give Dan Gusmerotti of Bark Busters my highest recommendation. If l could give ten stars, I would.

I can’t begin to say how amazing Dan is!!! During our first visit Dan sat and talked with us for an extended period of time about what was going on with our dog. When we got to the exercises with the dog, there was absolutely no doubt that Dan understood the behavioral issues because by the time he left, there was a huge difference in my dog’s behavior. The best part is that he didn’t do any correction with my dog, it was all us. So when Dan left, my dog still responded to me and I knew exactly how to properly correct my dog’s behavior. It has been almost 3 months since this meeting, and I finally have the dog I wanted all along. Dan is incredibly knowledgeable and has always responded quickly to emails. No matter how bad the case is, I truly believe that Dan is the go to guy for dog behavior issues.

We were doing well with our first dog, but then got a puppy who turned the tables on us a bit. We were shocked at how much growth our dogs made between the 1st session with Dan and the 2nd. There is less random barking inside, we can have the front door open and not have to play guard to keep the dogs inside, and they know their place in the house. I never thought we'd be able to take one of the dogs for a walk without a harness, yet here we are! Walking side by side with a collar! We are still in the process of training and will continue to learn from Dan, but we have also gained more understanding around how the dog brain works. Dan is incredibly patient and keeps it real with how he interacts with us and the dogs. He is quick to respond to questions we have, but what I appreciate most is that he asks questions to get to understand the situation better because he's the expert. Sometimes, we don't know what we don't know. If you need a trainer for your dog(s), we highly recommend looking into Bark Busters and working with Dan!

Dan has an innate gift of understanding how a dog communicates and what drives their behavior; he instinctively knew the best way to get my dog Jake’s attention and to sustain it to teach him new skills. It’s also nice that I can now have friends over again, people couldn’t come over before because of Jake’s terrible anxiety and aggression...he’s now cured! I highly recommend Dan G.

We were seeing great improvement on our fur baby after just 1 lesson! Dan is a great trainer that cares about us and our fur baby. His method focuses on teaching us humans what and how to do our job to create a relaxing environment for the pup - how to be a good pack leader. Dan does understand how dogs naturally think and I think that is really precious. I like how Dan emphasizes "Hands are for loving, not for punishment". Before I asked for Dan's help, I had heard all kinds of training methods: "Positive training, always", "Use both reward and punishment training", blah blah blah, I am sure you have heard about them too. However, what made me choose Dan was "you need to think like a dog", surely, reward works, but what if one day you run out of treats when you need them? Last but not least, I would recommend Dan to be your trainer because he responds quickly and always has my back with any dog related support.

called Dan with Bark Busters after several failed attempts with other trainers. All I can say is Wow! I wish I had called him first. My lab was an absolute monster on the leash, terrible when guest would come to the home and barked like a mad man when I left him home alone. After my first lesson with Dan, I feel like I have a new dog. I actually enjoy walking him, I am not embarrassed to invite friends over and he seems to have calmed down dramatically when I'm gone. Dan taught me how to be the leader without using harsh punishment or using food. His methods are simple to use and don't take much time. I understand that I have to be consistent and practice everyday to keep the results going but so far so good. I would recommend Dan to anyone who needs help with dog training, he's amazing and totally worth every penny I invested into his program . Thanks Dan!
