I reached out to Maureen a month ago to inquire about her services for training for my now 4-month old mini-golden doodle, Muffin. I previously had a poor experience with another dog trainer that focused on negative reinforcement. She appeared kind and understanding on the phone. She seemed to understand what I was wanting to accomplish. Prior to reaching out, I educated myself on the basics of training. I'm a competent person and could easily train my dog on my own, but I'd rather have a professional with me in person. She arrived at my home for the first session and the majority of the visit was spent engaging in small talk. She "taught" me a few things that were common knowledge. She was friendly, but it almost seemed fake. She came off as domineering and a "know-it-all." After the visit, I asked her if we could put together some type of plan for the next sessions. She stated to me that it wasn't possible. She continued to "educate" me on stuff that I already knew and sent me links and videos to information that I could have also easily found on my own. Reluctantly, I had her over for another session to see if the experience would improve (it didn't). We, again, spent 90% of the session chatting. Towards the end of the session, she introduced a puzzle toy and how to use it to help slow down the puppy's eating and stimulate her mind. She left the toy for us to use until the next session. Still disappointed, I reached out to her again to try and reinforce what I would like to accomplish to which she replied: I've already shown you how to handle these situations that you're asking for help with learning. Next came the scheduling issues for the final session. I informed her of the times I was available. She acted as though it was a burden for her to work around MY schedule. When I shared my feelings with her about the way she was training my puppy, she tried turning things around on me to make it seem as though I was the problem and said she heard from other people she's talked to that it appears like I'm not wanting to nurture my puppy's baby brain and expecting results right away. None of this I ever said to her or expressed. I made it clear to her from the start that I wanted hands-on training. I had one session remaining (I had prepaid) and decided to end our relationship at this point. I asked for a refund. She refused and referred me back to the contract. I then told her I would leave her puzzle toy on my porch. She said that wouldn't work for HER and I would need to drop it off at the pet store. She then threatened me that if there was any damage I would be charged and sent me a Venmo request for $50. It seems she is more focused on getting her money rather than actually caring about the work she is doing. It's a shame that I wasted $328 of my hard-earned money on this woman's poor excuse of dog-training business. It makes me wonder what her conscience is like if she has no problem keeping $163 for my final session that was never completed. Perhaps she knew what she was doing all along. Make the experience as bad as possible and hide behind the contract of no refunds. I regret not paying her via electronic means so I could dispute the payment. The experience with her was so awful that I shared it with my vet. It turns out Maureen was there not too long ago trying to get even more clients. I praise God that I have finally found a reputable and reliable trainer and this nightmare with Maureen is behind me. This is a good lesson for everyone to not always take the positive reviews to heart. Maureen is a great hustler. Her marketing is on point if she's able to continue reeling in clients and working with pet stores. To anyone reading this considering hiring Bee a Good Dog, I won't try and tell you not to do so but I will tell you to think twice about it. We all work hard for our money and we love our puppies as children and they deserve the best. Don't settle for anything other than the best.

Maureen helped me to train my hearing assist Service Dog. She could always spot the areas in which I could improve my training techniques. She was always respectful and kind to me and my dog. Because of Maureen I have a very efficient Service Dog. She is my alarm clock in the morning. My dog alerts me when someone is trying to get my attention, when danger is near, and best of all when driving she alerts me to emergency vehicles. So I am safe on the road. I could'nt ask for a better partner in training my dog. Maureen Rocks!

Maureen has been our dog trainer for 4 years and for two dogs. It all started with a tricks class - so much fun! Then Canine Good Citizen, and puppy training for the new addition. Maureen is very patient and understanding with both humans and dogs. She is always willing and readily available to answer all of my questions. She is a wealth of information and has lots of references and resources. If one way isn't working with your dog, she knows another way. All with love and praise.

My dog loves Maureen!! I have taken Rally Obedience class and am taking Game Night with Our Dogs class and they are both fun for the dog and their handler! Maureen is a great trainer because she understands dogs and can read their behavior and feelings. Every time we are in class and Maureen comes around to each dog to practice new concepts, I can see how engaged my dog is to learn. I can also see the true passion that Maureen has for working with dogs that is reflected in her interactions with them. Highly recommend any classes with Bee A Good Dog!

My eight month LARGE puppy and I are having a blast taking our first Rally class (novice) with Maureen. She has plenty of tips and tricks for training (for us humans too!) well beyond weaving around cones. Will certainly be recruiting more of her help in the future.

I was able to go to Maureen's free puppy socialization class at the Wag'n Wash in Broomfield right after we brought our pup home. Maureen has an uncanny sense about dogs and who they are by observing them. She knows how to handle pups in any situation and can read their behavior. As a professional canine behaviorist, she can tell what what training modifications to make regarding changing a dogs path into the world. Maureen is a very caring trainer and incorporates only positive reinforcement for behavioral problems. As a dog sport trainer, I value Maureen's input into any training situation.

Find another trainer! The value of the private consultation is not worth your $. She charged $165 for the initial consultation. My recommendation would be to find a trainer that can do a consultation over the phone and starts training sessions with your dogs that are effective and generate positive results.

I am so glad to have a trainer that I may look to as a mentor and collaborator as I train my dogs. A trainer that can help troubleshoot an issue is invaluable! I can send videos and receive feedback as to how I am training a particular activity and receive tips to help keep the fitness of my dogs first and foremost as we work together. Maureen is very encouraging and gives a lot of very positive ideas to enhance our training sessions. I very much appreciate her insight, expertise, and experience.

Bee A Good Dog is a great service to help with training your dog. We got a new puppy a couple years ago and Maureen helped my daughter build her confidence and get our puppy fully trained. The trick classes were fun, too. I would highly recommend Bee A Good Dog.

Maureen is a talented dog trainer! She connects with my dog & understands canine behavior on a deep level. She is the best dog trainer I've had. She is very knowledgeable, professional, quick to respond to my questions/emails, & fun to work with! As a side note she is also inspiring. I've mentioned her to a friend of mine who loves the animal care/training world but needed inspiration. Maureen loves her profession & goes about it in a positive & wonderful way. Give her a try!

TOP MARKS!!! In the same way that you would expect a teacher to be kind, patient and understanding while instructing your child, Maureen at Bee a Good Dog will be kind, patient and understanding of your fur child. She guides us doggy parents, too ????
