After taking our three dogs to Pet Palace for several years, we have seen a sharp decline in the quality of care our dogs have been receiving from Dr. Haas. Our elderly bulldog requires routine check ups and medication management. Dr. Haas never remembers a single detail from prior visits (even visits that are only a week apart) nor is anything documented. A majority of our time in his office is spent rehashing details of our dog’s treatment that he should already know and/or have in the dog’s file. At one point, he told us surgery would be too dangerous for our dog due to his age. When we reminded Dr. Haas of this, he accused us of not taking the proper care of our dog when we reminded him of this. Dr. Haas is rude and condescending and refuses to take accountability for any of his unprofessional behavior. I am genuinely concerned that he is not in the right state of mind to be practicing. We are looking forward to seeking quality veterinary care elsewhere.

I’d like to start this post off by saying my family and I have been taking our dogs to Dr. Haas at Pet Palace for over 20 years. He was always a little brash but it was tolerable because the dogs were cared for well at a reasonable price. Fast forward 20 years and this old man couldnt remember what he had for breakfast this morning let alone how to practice veterinary medicine. STAY AWAY. He will take your money and do NOTHING for your animal, and has the unmitigated gall to blame the customer for their animal not getting better. FIND A DIFFERENT VET. Dr Haas is too senile and incompetent to continue practicing. Haas, if you’re reading this, you’re irresponsible, incompetent, disrespectful and can get bent.

Staff is always helpful and friendly. My picky dogs really love a lot of their treats you can't find other places.

I went in with my poor kitten who had just gotten surgery. We waited for about 40 minutes to have her leg wrapped again as she had pulled the first one off. In no way is my baby aggressive, however as her stitched leg was being wrapped, she bit me in pain and scared. I told them under NO circumstances should they put a muzzle on my animal but they did so anyway and continued to be a bit rough with her. Literally a day after TWO surgeries. Staff was very nice however Dr. Haas definitely angered me by going against my wishes and reverting to something so inhumane in my opinion. Her blanket or a towel would have worked, without being so traumatic. They ended up using her blanket with the muzzle anyway and Dr. H had the nerve tell me it wasn't hurting her, she was just being a cat. You can't tell someone who's been around animals her whole life that they don't feel pain like we do. Honestly don't think I'll be returning after her stitches are removed.

My pet died 5 days after a routine check-up because a heart murmur was missed. I should have known something wasn't right when I ASKED for her eyes and heart to be checked. That's supposed to be standard, right? It's taken me a year to get to writing this review because my loss was so needless and devastating. Please don't go to this vet.

Our cat Atari is 20. In early august we realized she had a random swelling of her jaw. Upon exam dr. Haas let me know that her age, and placement of growth, it was cancer. We could do tons of tests and spend money but that is what was happening. We took the choice to make her as happy and comfortable as possible for as long as we can. He estimated 6 weeks most. It is now late October. We have made the call to humanely help her tomorrow morning. Dr. Haas is gruff, but kind. He cares about the animal first AS HE SHOULD. The staff are amazing. I have taken my cat in ever wed since august for checkups, meds, and in the last 6 weeks, saline bags as Dr. Haas and his team taught me how to help me elderly cat stay safely hydrated. Staff knows my pet family on sight, greets her, and is friendly. Also when I had to make the call today on the closed day I got a personal call from the dr to schedule her so that she isn’t in pain anymore. He isn’t a people person, he is an animal person. And that is the person I want caring for my fur creature. Have I had to wait sometimes? Sure. No more than half an hr after my appointment time, and I never felt rushed when we were in the exam room. The care for my animal is what is important, and let’s me honest, when have you ever gone to your primary care and not waited well past your time?

I went there for four years. The staff is friendly. Dr. Haas was so RUDE! did not acknowledge me this past time AT all! I greeted him hello, no reply. He wanted me to turn my dog around to give a shot and he just pointed and grunted. I greeted him good bye and he turned his back on me. I’m finding a new vet!

Philip Haas is rude and unprofessional. The staff at pet place are wonderful and friendly however, due to the incompetence of Philip Haas we will not be using pet palace again. On a few different occasions I have been told that I am a unfit pet owner for one reason or another. Today I called to verify a surgery that I scheduled WITH Philip for tomorrow and was told that we are not on the schedule. Philip, you sir are not professional, you are rude, and should not be running a business. We will not be returning to pet palace.

I am honestly surprised that this place has such good reviews as we had terrible experience. First, they managed to get us in on a short notice which is something we really appreciated. But then the drama started. We were told to drop our puppy off between 9 and 9:15 am and not to let her eat anything after 8 pm the night before in case she needed surgery. When I got there it was me and another lady. Filled out paperwork and then left. I was told we would get a call once our dog is ready. 4 hrs pass and nothing, 6 hrs pass and still nothing. We called several times and we kept getting the same reply - the doctor is in a surgery, there is an amputee and is taking longer. We tried to be understanding but if they do not have resources to handle all patients why do they take on more?! Finally, we got a phone call at 6 pm that our dog is ready to be picked up. It’s 7 pm and I have been here for 45 minutes waiting as they are still dealing with the amputee dog. I feel for that dog and it’s family, I’m sad it happened but I can only be so understanding info when my own dog sat in a cage with no food all day.. once again why did they take on another patient if they couldn’t accommodate it?!

My 12 year old Old English Bulldog needed surgery. Dr was very straight forward and open. He and the rest of the staff were efficient, kind, compassionate and professional. They stayed open to accommodate his needs and never acted like we were inconvenient. Tiny is doing well and we have plenty of visits scheduled to get all his needs met. We left feeling like our fur baby had been loved and respected and well cared for. Thank you to the entire staff!

I am always pleased with Pet Palace! I have taken my cats there for years. This was the first time we had an appointment with Dr. Harrison and she seemed great. I'm glad Dr. Haas has a good partner!

Have taken 2 of my dogs there now. Had my puppy spade that was expensive but all of her other visits have been affordable. Had to take my older dog in to have a badly infected wound treated, care was great and it didn't brake the bank!

What is the point of making an appointment when the vet takes other people who came in after you, before he will see you!? We have been waiting here for an hour and a half, while the vet is taking other people before us because thy are picking up a pet. We made an appointment, hold that to the actual time. Looking for a different vet that actually cares about our animals and our time as well.

It's hard to imagine taking a pet anywhere else. Dr. Hass was my Vet for a couple of previous pets. His love of animals is obvious. The prices are reasonable. Highly recommend.

This place looked good at first, so we brought our dog here for her checkup. After waiting 45 mins past our appointment, we were seen. The vet, checked her heart and told us she had a heart murmur. We talked about other issues that would need fixed and we left. 2 days later, our dog was having some issues breathing; so we brought her into a emergency vet and they told us that she was in congestived heart failure and 30 mins later we had to put her down. Again this was 2 days later! I'm not sure the people there know what they are talking about. I'm not saying they killed my dog, but they dont know the difference between congestive heart failure and a heart murmur?

Dr. Hass is one of the best veterinarians I’ve met in my long life! He is kind and caring, he gives excellent advice, and he has a wealth of information. If you are a pet owner you need to meet Dr. Hass. Dr. Hass has taken care of many of my Persian cats. He really cares! He has so much good experience that he can often immediately identify the problem. His toolbox is large and he has many resources at his disposal. If you are a pet owner and you have any issues you should visit Dr. Hass and ask him for his opinion. He is professional and reliable and a really good person! And he is an excellent veterinarians!

Very very rude people here. My brother took the dogs in for an appointment to get shots and for one when he got there they told him he wasn’t on the schedule in which he should have be because I called yesterday and made the appointment yesterday and she confirmed the appointment. I also called this morning to see if I can pay over the phone and she TOLD me I have an appointment at 4 but there were no charges yet so I can’t pay yet. They then made my brother leave with the dogs with getting their shots because our bigger dog was barking in which dogs do right. And were very mean to him and made him cry. Highly don’t recommend this place.

Amazing doctor who REALLY cares about the animals (so he will yell at you if you are in the wrong, but he's an advocate for the animal). We've been going to him for 10 years and recommend him to everyone.

Brought my dogs to Dr Phil three times now, twice for surgery. He seems a little gruff but is very good with my animals and fair priced. Will continue to come here and have told people about how amazing my experiences have been. So thankful to have found him.

We've been bringing our pets to Dr. Haas for 17 years and absolutely love the care he gives them. He is absolutely the best vet in the metro area.
