The lovely ladies there recommended a couple dogs for me to meet, and see if they got along with my dog. We went with the first one, and she is the perfect puppy for our family.

It's a shame that these animals are euthanized when they could have a forever home without all the red tape

Got my sweet dog from Aurora Animal Shelter. Got her last April 2021 so Covid protocol was still in place but they made it super easy to set up an appointment. I was able to talk with a few people to see if Dixie now Flora would work for what I want from a dog and to see how she would do with my dogs. Also, I like that the shelter helps bring dogs from other states to Colorado to help find them a home. Flora was an Oklahoma stray before coming here. Overall my experience with Aurora Animal Shelter was great and they do help to make sure dogs find a home that will work best for them.

The shelter was thankful for the dog food.

They were super nice and helpful with the pet food pantry. They brought a big bag of food out for me right away and cared about my sweet cat.

I had a wonderful experience with this shelter. I was impressed by the amount of details they have for each dog. I recommend calling them to get more info than what is on the website. They were always happy to answer any of my questions. We adopted an 8 year old that couldn't be more of a sweat heart. This is our first dog and couldn't be happier. Tyler was a great help and was super knowledgeable with the dog we adopted. Thanks to everyone for answering my questions the many times that I've called.

We had such a wonderful experience adopting our 2 new fur babies. Kylie was incredibly patient, didn’t rush our decision, and supported our needs in the adopting process. I couldn’t have asked for a better outcome! We are so grateful for everyone who works and volunteers at this shelter that makes saving these animals possible!

Thank you for rescuing Erik (you called him Dorito while in care). He is a wonderful, smart, sweet boy who likes to play, take walks, dance, and has gotten to know how to respect house rabbits. We wanted to let you know he is doing well. We got him from you in the middle of September. You remember him? Broken upper left canine that needed surgery?

I got my current dog from the Aurora Animal shelter.

I took a stray in to get scanned for a chip. I called ahead and the shelter employee came out to my car to scan the little dog! She was so friendly, informative and helpful! Explained all the options and resources that are available here for locating lost pets. Her help and kindness was much appreciated.

I'm sooo sooo happy. I found my little girl at this shelter. I thought I'd lost her for good. The staff was super kind and friendly. Thank you so much for taking care of Nina! ????????

I called them regarding two lost dogs in my front yard. The dogs appeared to be over heating and I was afraid they were going to get hit by a car. Not only did the animal control officer show up within 20 minutes or so, but genuinely seemed to care about the dogs. She scanned the dogs for a chip and was going to contact the owner. It was a great interaction with a great outcome! Thanks!

DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE!!!! These poor animals! I wish I could give this place 0 stars. My fiancé and I adopted a kitten from them a couple weeks ago. She had a weird sniffle. We asked about it and the lady told us it was just a cold and it'll pass. AFTER we signed the paperwork for her and they ran our credit card, a second worker comes in and says "Oh I should probably tell you about her nose. We think she has a blockage that will need to be removed". They waited until we payed and signed for her to tell us. It's not even on her paperwork from her vet visit the week before we adopted her. Fast forward to her first vet visit with us. Our vet tells us not only should they have told us ahead of time but they should have taken care of it when they realized it because it's a surgical procedure. We're talking like $5000. We confronted them very kindly and the supervisor, Carol, was very disrespectful to us. In person she told my fiancé that they would help us figure out the problem. The next day they called us and said they changed their minds and would not be helping us and after he tried to talk to her about it she hung up on us. Please if you have ANY poor experiences here contact me via facebook messenger because we will not just let this be!!!!!!!

After out big dogs died, we took a month off pet parenthood, to decide what we wanted. Little it is. We adopted the prettiest little Princess ever from the Aurora shelter. She is a quirky little Chi, but we are kinda quirky too. They explained about her health in great detail. She had a very thorough examination before we adopted her. The process was really quick and easy. Princess Peach is adjusting pretty well to her new home. She is happy, and so are we. Thank you Aurora shelter! We will be looking for a buddy for her pretty soon. Your shelter will be first on the list.

I got a call saying they had my pup! Apparently True Green left my gate open after service and my lab got out... I was told if I could get him right away, there would be no charge and there sure wasn't. I'm thankful they had him and of tje cost as I've been out of work for a year.

They scanned LuLu's microchip after her being stolen for over 3 years!! I owe them a surprise visit with treats!! Look up on Facebook: LuLu Lost dog missing for the when story!!

Rescue is the way to go folks. End inbreeding and puppy mills, support local rescues!

I think they do the best they can with the resources that they have. I've seen him play with the dogs and take them for walks and I've seen them feed the dogs and talk to the dogs. And everybody's hoping that everyone will pick up their dogs. If you're looking for one it's definitely the place to go. The vet takes care of them they get their shots they're already fixed and they're chipped and all that's included in the price of the adoption. I got mine there and a friend of mine I took her there and she wound up with a beautiful shih Tzu.

True Green serviced my lawn.and never closed the gate. AKC Unite and the shelter were calling me at the same time. I was able to get mybboy right away for free. You can't do better than that!
