Just got back from Banfield at Westwood. 4lb Chihuahua for a checkup. Here was my experience: 1. They refused to allow me to go with dog for exam. They made me wait in my car, I did not even get to meet the vet and do not know even who the vet was. They used covid as an excuse not to let owner in exam room. Complete non-sense, maybe if you are worried about it ask the owner to wear a mask! Not acceptable!! 2. They called me 10 min after leaving her, (I was sitting in front in my car) they said she needed a dental cleaning (at a separate appt) and that if I signed up for a Wellness Plan ($47 a month plan) that would be included, but she needed some extractions and those would not be included. They also said the vaccines she needed would be included as well. I said ok, I will do the plan and go ahead and give her vaccines. 3. 5 min later they call me back again to talk about the extractions some more, they now said the extractions would cost $2000++ even with the wellness plan! This $2000+ is for pulling a few tiny little chihuahua teeth, said NO of course, I do not want the plan and I do not want the vaccines. (why did you not mention the ridiculous cost of extractions when you called me the first time!!). I already had gotten a quote form another vet, range was from $350 up to $700 TOTAL if they did extractions (and did not need to sign up for a $47 a month plan). So I said I will pay for the checkup and be done. They said they already did the vaccines so too late. 4. They charged me $138 for the visit. The prices they charged for vaccines were very high!! I will not be coming back....

Absolutely do not recommend this place. I took my puppy for their “free puppy visit” and I wish I had just paid the less than $100 to take him somewhere else. The receptionist woman was extremely rude and downright nasty when taking my scared puppy back to the vet. So nasty in fact that I questioned if they might be hurting him back there and if I should grab him and leave. Unfortunately I stayed and hoped it was just the receptionist but I guess I’ll never know. I also wanted to add on (pay for) a nail trim and they claimed they couldn’t do it because my 4 month old 40lb puppy squirmed too much. They claimed they did one (maybe two) paws but that’s a lie because they all look the same still. Honestly, if you can’t handle cutting a little puppy’s nails what are you capable of doing? Unfortunately I did get all my puppy’s vaccines there and I honestly don’t trust that they gave him the right shots or any at all! I already have an appointment at another vet nearby that sounds much more reputable! Trust me- just pay for the puppy visit at a vet that knows what they are doing so you know your pup is being treated well!

I called to get an appointment for my dog, made the appointment, and canceled the other one I had set up at a different location. Then this location called me back to say they couldn't do the appointment I scheduled, or the other one I had been offered with them, which made me have to call back the first location and reschedule. It shouldn't be so hard to set up an appointment.

Great place for your dog/pet. Front desk was very nice and patient with me. I would like to give an extra 5 stars to Sarah for being very very patient with me, I was being a real a#@$_&e with her. In the end it was my stubbornness that caused an unnecessary scene. So once again I apologize and thank Banfield and staff for taking care of my baby. My pitbull is not happy with her cone, but I know she feels better with the attention and love she received today.

Took my Princess in for her check up, they follow covid rules, it was a drop off appointment but the only thing I hate is leaving her all day there when her anxiety is so high. They do good work tho and are friendly.

I drive 35 miles to bring my dogs to this banfield if they need a procedure instead of going to the clinics near me. I like the staff and the doctors and my dogs do well when treated. Had my puppy spayed recently and all went great an and communication and caring from staff and doctor were top notch

Every time our pet has been seen there is a new vet. They act as if they don’t know anything about our pet. Asking us what medication he is on when we fill his prescription every month and are in contact with them regarding his prescriptions that this location has prescribed to him. Poor communication regarding what will happen at appointments leaving huge unexpected costs at the end of each visit. VERY EXPENSIVE!! Every time I have had to bring my dog in it has been an extremely frustrating experience. This last time we were unable to be with our dog at all while he had his appointment. I do not recommend this location at all and the location on Ward Rd. Where our dog originally went was unable to get him an appointment within a reasonable amount of time so I don’t recommend that one either.

I have had 3 dogs with Dr. Klenz and Banfield. They really care and don't try to do costly procedures. I highly recommend.

I’ve been to several Banfield locations and this one is by far the best. Everyone from the techs to the manager is absolutely wonderful. They were so patient and kind with me and my cat. Never made me feel like I was a trouble (even though I called multiple times for updates). They were so compassionate with my cat who has anxiety and can be a handful. If you need a vet or have an emergency with your pet, take them here. You won’t regret it!

I went here with my friend when he was putting his dog down and it was a terrible experience. The vet tech and the vet were not kind or sympathetic. They gave her a sedative first but didn't wait for it to take any effect before doing the final injection. She didn't calm down or fall asleep before the second shot. It was awful to see. And they didn't even ask if they wanted to let the sedative take effect. I've put pets down before and this was the worst experience.

Amazing experience here! They took such great care of my dog Creature, and I felt so confident leaving him for his dental appointment. I also appreciate that they call me after all of his appointments to make sure he is doing well. I signed up for a wellness plan, and it is definitely worth it. So happy to have found this place!

The front desk people are always friendly and professional, so thank you for that. But, if you are thinking of taking a pet to see Dr. Elds, I highly recommend you wait until Dr. Elds gets more experience under her belt before you utilize her services. She is unfamiliar with the cost of various tests and is so young that she is still in the "honeymoon phase" of veterinarian medicine. What this mean is, her brand of care is best suited for pet owners who are millionaires. Older more experienced vets are far more cost conscious, realistic, and practical. Add to that, the fact that statically, "box store" vets like Banfield are more expensive to begin with and this all totals up to : you better bring a wheel barrel full of money!

We recently had a very good experience with this practice. Our dog broke a back molar that we noticed Sunday night. We took him in Monday morning and was scheduled for surgery the next day. All cost, expectations, and details were explained clearly to us by the doctor who I never felt was rushed. After the surgery they called us to let us know how everything went and when picking up our pup went over all medications thoroughly and what recovery will be. I would recommend this practice for emergent situations.

I've been taking our three pets to this Banfield for a few years now, and love the friendly reception we get and the professional, just right, care for our two dogs and cat. One dog and the cat are older and have chronic health conditions, and I feel confident that they're being cared for as well as possible. Our cat came down with a UTI in the middle of March this year, and they made time for us to come in and got it cured with compassion and ease in the middle of the initial pandemic lockdown. The vets are compassionate and reasonable and I love the front desk staff.

I would give 0 stars if i could. If you want to waste your time go here. They have no time management skills at all. We brought our dog here for a check up and they said he would be done around 12. Went in to get him at 12 and they told us it would be like 3-4 more hours. We came back at 4:15 and they said he wasnt done and it would be about 20 minutes. Then we finally got him and they told me i was good to go. So we left and 30 mintues later they call me and say i forgot his meds and still had a balance that needed payed. So we payed over the phone. They said his meds would be ready to pick up whenever i could get them. I went back the next day to pick up his meds and they weren't ready. I have never had a worse experience with a vet in my life. Banfield is a good vet to go to but this location is absolutely awful. No customer service what so ever.

We’ve had nothing but great experiences at this banfield location. Our dog was in need of immediate blood labs due to exposure to rat poison. I called this banfield location first thing on Saturday morning and even though they had a very busy day, they were able to work in my dog as a drop off and take/process the blood levels within a few hours! I worked with ruby and Savannah and they were both caring, informative, and made the process easy. We are members of the banfield wellness program and highly recommend banfield especially this location!

It makes me sad to say that I have had many unfortunate issues with Banfield hospitals. I have really appreciated the pet wellness plans, which is the main reason I have continued to stick with Banfield as my pet provider for many years. My worst, most recent, experience ever, came from this Banfield location (Westwoods Shopping Center; Arvada ,CO). I brought all 3 of my dogs in to this office at the same time, which I thought the clinic would be used to handling. When I talked with the vet tech in the examination room, we reviewed what each dog had been brought in for. The vet tech specifically stated, "I'm sorry for being so detailed, but sometimes, THEY, can still screw things up if I am not specific.” That actually made me feel good that she was going the extra mile. For additional detail, my two larger dogs came in for dental cleanings, which required anesthesia, while my smaller dog was there for a comprehensive and any necessary shots. I came to pick up my babies that afternoon and we headed home. On the drive home, I noticed that my smaller dog looked very tired and groggy. When we got home, I let all the dogs outside and noticed my smaller dog was not very interested and stilled seemed oddly sedated. I have never heard of needing to give any type of sedation or similar type of treatment to a dog for a simple comprehensive exam and a few shots. Additionally, I noticed that both of his legs (right above his paws) had been shaved. That was when I began wondering if they had performed the wrong procedures to my dogs. I decided to call the hospital and make sure they did not switch my dogs procedures. The lady at the desk confirmed that my dogs had received the correct procedures. I ask her to double check with the doctor. She asked the doctor and still confirmed all 3 dogs had received the correct procedures. I still had a feeling that they were just brushing off the situation because of uncertainty on their end. After about 1 1/2 - 2 hours, the hospital called me back and confirmed that they had switched my smallest dog's procedure (simple comprehensive with shots) with one of the larger dogs who were intended to receive a dental cleaning. My smaller weighed in at 42.4lbs on that visit. The larger dog that was involved in this situation weighed in at approximately 62lbs. I was there. I put her on the scale. The vet tech who called me to tell me the bad news was apologetic, but not in a sincere way. He told me that the “good news is that Vivi weighed in at approximately 41lbs that day”. He told me this to ensure to me that the anesthesia administered to my smaller dog (42.4lbs), who received the dental procedure, was not too harmful. This is when I really started to get concerned. How could my 2+ year old dog have lost 20+ lbs in a month? How could she weigh the same as my small cocker spaniel? Vivi, the larger dog, is a Labrador/Pitbull mix. I am adding a picture of her weight tracker on the Banfield pet website to show this shocking information. The same day I brought all my dogs home from this visit, I weighed Vivi myself. She weighed in at 62lbs. I told the vet tech he was incorrect. I informed him that I was there when my larger dog was weighed and that her weight was around 62lbs. He didn’t have much more to say besides that I could come back in another time and they would fix things, or that I could go to another Banfield. **PLEASE LOOK AT THE PHOTOS FOR THE REST OF MY STORY. This Banfield got my Harley in on the day I needed him to be seen. I was so relieved and so thankful. Dr. Durand was very professional and very gentle with my scared chihuahua. I will be making this my Banfield for good.

The staff is great. They are so friendly and welcoming. Im a new puppy mom and feel somewhat clueless in caring for a puppy. They staff is knowledgeable and love my pup just as much as I do. I am so glad I came to this location. I drive out of my way to continue to see them for service still. Keep up the good work.
