Debbie is the best! I have adopted both a puppy and a kitten from this rescue and they are the best! They have a lot of puppies and kittens available almost every Saturday and they really look out for all the people and animals the serve and they make it hassle free to adopt. Some shelters and rescues make it so damn difficult and have all these rules and restrictions and I feel they get a little too involved. Deb makes it easy and really goes out of her way to care for her animals and serve the people she adopts to.

This is a terrible rescue we took a week to think about the adoption and when we realise we werent ready we asked for our money back now we werent told anything about a non refundable deposit nor is it on theyre forms or posted at the shop. We were nicely asking deb the owner to refund us but she wouldnt refund us the full amount. Instead she wanted to give us a check (us with out knowing wether it would bounce or not) for a partal amount of it. Im on here to let people know when she walks into that shop all she has is dollar signs for eyes. Expecially charging $175 for cat to be adopted with only one round of shots been done.also they i watched them drop a open (OPEN) needle on the dirty water floor and put it in a cat.

We adopted a 6 month old yellow Lab Golden Retriever mix, named Allie six years ago today Feb 12, 2015. She is named after Debs daughter. She has been the most loving and loyal pooch we have ever had. Presently we have 4 dogs in our home. We adopted her to be a pet but she turned out to be so much more. She gets along with everyone and every animal she meets. She is so mellow and laid back that our vet is constantly trying to get me to take her to the hospital and put her through the comfort animal training. Everyone loves this beautiful girl. She is so special. Last year she had to have her tail removed as a cancerous tumor appeared about 3” up her tail from the base. We felt that her life was more important than a tail so she underwent surgery to have it removed. She has completely recovered and looks pretty cute without it. She is such a trooper. I’m retired and so I take her every where I go. She turned out to be a natural at hunting and retrieving pheasants, ducks, quail and doves. She is my constant companion and my best friend. Her nickname is Al.

The animals are kept in horrible conditions. The warehouse looks like a mill or hording situation. Cages stacked upon cages. She charges hundreds of dollars for sick animals or animals that have received little to no vet care.

Animals appear to be well cared for. Staff are ok but seem a bit fractured. I adopted two cats, one had a cold. They had me bring them back and gave my boy with the cold a shot of penicillin and antibiotics to take at home. He no longer has a cold. Update: Cat with cold unfortunately died. They shouldn't be adopting out sick animals. Now my other cat is sick too.

When I called to ask about questions she asked me do I text which to me seem very unprofessional, and irritated when answering my call. I can see why there is so many bad reviews on here. She really could use a better attitude when it comes to people. Customer service is everything even if it is your own company. Anyway I was gonna adopt from here now I’m to afraid to so I won’t be.

Friendly staff, easy adoptions, making a difference in the lives of our furry friends. They work out of a warehouse behind a local pet store in Yuba City. You may need to have patience especially just after opening and it can be a bit chaotic at times but they are doing important work.

My cousin called Deb about some abandoned Chihuahuas in Hallwood 5 minutes north of Marysville. There were 9 in total and 3 new born puppies. She said they would take the mom and the puppies and have wags and whiskers take the rest. Waited for Deb’s foster people to come pick up the mom and puppies but wags and whiskers showed up first and they were told to take all the dogs by their boss. The dogs were on a street where big semi trucks go by so we wanted them gone asap. So the lady from wags and whiskers took all of them except one that wouldn’t come out from under the house. A couple minutes later Debs foster people came and were yelling at us about why we let wags and whiskers take the mom and the puppies. We apologized and said we just wanted the dogs out of here and safe. We got the other dog from out from under the the house so the foster people went home with a dog. On our way home my cousin got a nasty text from Deb saying how rude my cousin was for letting wags and whiskers take the mom and puppies. All and all Deb called too many people to come pick up the dogs and then blamed it on us because she didn’t get her way when all that matters is the puppies get good homes. I think she was mad that she couldn’t get the puppies to sell so she blew up on my cousin. I don’t think Deb is very professional and I don’t recommend going through her to buy or rescue animals.

It is an adoption event held in the "warehouse" of a pet store. Lots of kittens and about 7 dogs were available for adoption. They were also doing animal shots at the same time. Chaotic, but if you see an dog or cat you want they spend the time to tell you what they know about their background. It helps to get there as soon as they open if you have a specific dog or cat in mind. Minimal paperwork to complete, pay, and you are on your way with your new companion. There were times you could not maintain social distance, but they did ask people to step out to thin how many were inside. Pets appeared healthy. I adopted a sweet little maltese/chihuahua.

I agree with a negative star rating for this company! I purchased a border collie puppy almost 2yrs ago from them when they were named Happy Paws animal rescue. From my understanding the dogs were $50 so my husband and i drove from Sacramento to yuba city after speaking with whom i believe was deb. After getting there we find out the dog is $450 but we really wanted him so we pulled out more money and took him home. During the car ride home we noticed he was BADLY infested with what we believed to be fleas, I MEAN EXTREMELY BAAAAAAAD! WE took him to the vet to find out these weren't fleas he had mites that needed a special medicine to be treated because he was eating himself alive. A couple hundred dollars later and weeks down the road he got better. The greatest dog I've owned. Up until 3 weeks ago! He will be 2 in September and we have had to take him BACK to the emergency hospital due to siezures they are saying are genetic.Thousands of dollars spent again to find out my dog is dying. I do not recommend this animal rescue what so ever.

I wish I could give it no stars, but one will do. I have asked them for over a month to help me with kittens and they either give me the run around or just flat our ignore me. These kittens are locked in a bathroom and will be dumped on the streets tonight. I'm getting kicked out of where I live because I couldn't get rid of these kittens and now they will have to fend for themselves. Don't trust these people at all, they don't care

Wish I could rate a zero.I went here with one of my roommates to adopt a dog and cat. We told Deb we already had a cat at home and she was all on board with what we were doing. I was adopting a pitbull mix and she decided to inform me after I had finished paying and my roommate had already purchased her cat that the dog I adopted should never be allowed around cats she’ll eat them. My roommate and I, even the cashier, were extremely confused as to why she would not tell us this before when we were telling her we were adopting them and when we were filling out paperwork. The cashier told me that if I experience any aggressive behavior I can call and bring her back for a full refund. When I tried to confirm this with Deb she got mad and said “well she’s not at liberty to say that but yes I will do that.” She then decide to see if the dog would be aggressive towards the cats that she had on the floor in the cages. When the dog slightly jumped at the cats Deb hit the dog on the head with her fist... not only in front of her other customers but in front of a group of kids. When I got home I the dog was too aggressive with the cats we had so I decided to call and let her know I need to bring her back and she was very irritated with me over the phone. I understand returning a dog is not the best but I would not have picked the dog if she had fully informed me of the dogs habits and behaviors in certain situations. When I returned her the next morning I dropped her off at their adoption pop up at the tractor supply store and I told her I was sorry I brought her back and she’s a great dog and if I didn’t have cats I’d love to keep her and I had wished she’d told me about her behavior with cats before I decided to take her home. She looked me in the eye and said well I told you we didn’t know how’s she’s act with cats. I responded by saying well you told me she’s eat them AFTER I bought her. And she sat there trying to make it my fault for not thinking ahead. This was a very upsetting experience trying to bring a new member into my house. On top of all of this in the process of adopting her Deb was extremely unorganized and all over the place. Wish the adoption would have worked out and I hope Scarlett found a great home. Just be aware when adopting from here.

A negative experience today with Deb and one of here volunteers. I have 2 Autistic daughters that I bring in every Saturday to purchase fish, tanks at Geyser Pets and to see Deb's cats, in which there are about 30, give or take.... Deb keeps bottles of sanitizer around so that the customers can use them in between petting each individual cats in cage. I try to impress that apon my daughter's to do so, but today Deb and a volunteer hovered over my daughter's about using the sanitizer after petting each individual cat.Today was a little too much and uncomfortable and even speaking over me at one point directly to my girls. About after the fourth hand sanitizer wash within 5 minutes with constant hover and coaching, I had had enough and my girls and I left the store.

Deb is GREAT!! My 7 year old great-grand-daughter, 13 year old daughter and I met with Deb at Gaiser Pet Store on Plumas St., in Yuba City, CA to adopt a puppy for my great-grand-daughter. I had already arranged to met with her there , giving her the puppy's description my great grand picked. Deb completed the adoption documents for us, assisted us in shopping for supplies and the works. It has been almost 3 weeks now. The puppy, my great grand, my daughter and I have bonded very well and Deb has constantly maintained contact with us should we have any problems or questions. She is a jewel!!!
