Shadalane Golden Retrievers Vista, California

We have a nine month old Golden Retriever, named Gunther he is our third golden in the last 20 years. We have gone through four dog trainers. We just couldn’t get our golden to stop biting in a playful manner or pulling on the leash. We took Gunther to Shadlane to leave him for boot camp. Shelly the dog trainer worked with him for about an hour and suggest that we just do some training secessions with her, on a one on one! After a few training sessions Gunther is a different dog. Shelly is unbelievable! Thank. You Shelly!

We had high hopes for getting a golden retriever puppy. We paid a large deposit to hold a spot for an upcoming litter (almost 900). When it didn’t work out we called and explained why and got the run around. Never received our deposit back after many attempts. We were never told an answer. Just “we will get back to you.”

We were so happy to find this company and went to great lengths to acquire a Golden puppy....going to great expense as we had to travel 500 miles round trip which added hotel bills and fuel etc etc...only to find that they wanted 7000.00 additional for training which was for only 2 weeks??? The puppy was singled out for us and marked only 2 weeks ago! When we objected she told us we couldnt have the Dog unless we paid that. And now refuses to give us the Dog that we have a signed contract for but and is ALSO NOT going to refund the nearly 5000.00 dollars we prepaid. Which will force us to go to court to get our money back. This is a racket if not a total scam. Now are hearts are broken because we fell in love with "Bella" as we had named her, from the pictures they were sending us of her. And we still have to drive 250 miles home, empty handed. Shameful if not crooked actions on their part. We are in touch with their local newspaper and have a reporter who wants to do a story on this operation. I would AVOID them like the plague. Is the whole world being run by scam artists the way our COUNTRY seems to be heading? Shame on them......Karma is not always a reward. NOTE: Aftermath: After threatening us with THEIR lawyer as this played out and demanding full payment they wised up and returned our money. Very little satisfaction in that because here we are 3 months down the road, back home, without "Bella" who we had fallen in love with. I'm seeing $$$$$ as the motivation and not JOY in seeing a Pup placed in a loving home. So we will begin our search again.......As a sidenote, some breeders have told us that due to covid the demand for puppies has MUSHROOMED with so many staying home. What happens when demand goes UP? PRICES go up. Our "Bella" is probably going go to "fetch" more money then we were paying. Hmmmm......? Lesson learned.

I had a very reactive-aggressive dog and the trainers and owner Alan did everything they could for me! They’re so nice and professional. Great people. They take care for your fur baby like their own. They never worked with my dog’s breed and they still trained him well!! They gave us our life back. I tried 2 different trainers before them and none of them helped us, my dog was still bad and we wasted so much money but when we came here it was so different. I swear if you are contemplating on going with Shadalane, don’t! Best decision ever. They truly helped us and our dog be able to even go on a simple walk around my house. We did the board and train program and my dog came out so mature. I cannot thank them enough. I definitely recommend this place.

I'll be getting my first baby girl YMH'S Main Mommy from the Guardianship program sometime before the beginning of the year I believe ❤. I can't wait for the blossoming friendship I'll be developing between these generous, big hearted family and their gorgeous pups. Can't wait for all the pup play... crossing my fingers to raise my very own little girl to be a beautiful mascot for the Brody Stevens Furry Friend Program.

Ok if u are planning to buy a puppy from here Stop and DONT!!! I spoke with alex back on march 24th and he said that they have 2 females pregnant but not sure which litter would be ours to choose from so we should expect a puppy to go home with us in june or early july the latest. So we went ahead and put our 100.00 deposit down and was told to call back may 24th. We called back in may and left messages never got a phone call back but finally i called on the right day and spoke with alex again and he said that he was just about to start calling people for the litter and if we put deposit down we should be on list and expect his call on the following sunday. Sunday came around and no phone call. I went ahead and called the following week and left messages and again no returned phone call. I kept calling, mind u this is like 3 wks later, and finally got ahold of Alex he then mentioned that the puppys would be born in july (which is like 2 wks away) and wouldn't be ready to go home til September. He said to call back then bc mom would be close to having pups but we should have no problem getting a female puppy because most are interested in males. Of course i called back and no returned phone call. Finally spoke with and said that because of covid19 they wouldnt have any puppies for 6 months!!! I cant believe they do business like this its unethical to take money from someone with no clue if there is even a puppy available!! Im sure im not the only ones they do this to and wish me luck on getting my deposit back!!!!

Shadalane is simply amazing. We came here in search of a service dog to work with my son. They took the time to carefully pair him with a dog with the right temperament and skill set. Every time we visited, Shadalane treated us like family. Everyone we worked with was wonderful -- from the trainers to the owners. When it was time to come home, the head trainer Shelly brought our sweet dog to our house a few hundred miles away to make sure it was a smooth transition. We had the sweetest golden that was a very large part of my husband's dental office. Bella was at the office everyday and calmed the patients and the staff as well. We lost her due to lymphoma and we needed a new golden for the office, and of course for our family too. We luckily were referred by word of mouth to Allen & Shadalane and found our beautiful, sweet, smart Delilah. She was fully trained by Shadalane and we brought her home right before Thanksgiving. Delilah had very large paws to fill as we say and she has fit in perfectly at the office and at home as well with our crazy older golden Daisy. Delilah is such a cuddle bug and senses who needs her most at the office and sits with them or even on them as needed for dental visits. At home, she can run like the wind, has a little stubborn streak, and is one of those velcro goldens. We simply adore Delilah and are so thankful that Shadalane has the training capability to train and match people's needs. We needed to ensure that our new family member was a good fit for the office and the patients, and we hit a home run. We will not go anywhere else but Shadalane and we are truly grateful for our Delilah.

My kids do volunteer work here walking dogs and socializing the most adorable puppies. The dogs are wonderful and impeccably trained.

I get stopped all the time with people wanting to know where we got him. He is gentle, intuitive, understanding, patient, loving, goofy, obedient, oh and just so much more than I cannot possibly finish listing. Kelsey came into my life from Shadalane almost 4 years ago and she is the most wonderful of companions. Loves everybody and is friendly with other dogs. It was clear after visiting with Alan at Shadalane that this is where I needed to be to get my first golden retriever. Shadalane Golden Retrievers responsibly breeds litters at a low volume. They are very detail oriented and make sure to get OFA tests done on all of their breeding dogs and have an extensive ethical contract for the safety of their puppies. Aside from that, Alan truly cares about each and every one of his puppies and their future owners. When, I took my trained dog home, he got choked up and teary eyed saying goodbye. My dog was bred and trained by Alan, and he is the best dog I have ever met (biased of course). But people constantly ask me where I got him and how I got him to be so calm and sweet. He is steady and calm in every situation, but has a great happy and playful personality. He is also strikingly beautiful and is complimented everywhere we go. If I get another golden, I won't go anywhere but Shadalane. I also plan to send any puppy I have to Alan for training because I've been so happy with my dog. I should also add that my dog became a certified therapy dog on his second birthday because 2 y/o was the minimum age for our organization. He has successfully given love to people all over the country for 5 years now. And I don't think it would have been possible if it weren't for Alan's great breeding and training.
