People here are so nice and take wonderful care of our Frenchie. She loves going there!

We had 2 visits for our bunny this year. First one was our bunny's vaccination and second was her spay. Dr Nissen and Kyle (vet tech) were so professional, patient in explaining things and very caring to our bunny. The whole team including Kris, Kelly and Brandon were amazing and we felt at ease. THEY TRULY DESERVE 5 STARS OR MORE. THANKS AGAIN

Our appointment was on time, Dr. Handel and his associates were professional and pleasant taking the needed time for the exam along with the questions we asked.

Is the worst animal hospital, the stuff and the Veterinarians does not care about the animals and their owners

This place is amazing.. We brought our little lovebird Buddy here after being told from another vet that he wasn't going to make it. We were total wrecks after staying up all night wondering if he would make it.. Once we came to Palomar the avian vet we got was outstanding. She actually checked him with us in the room and was helping us out in deciding what the best thing to do was. She even had a bird of her own so she was relating to us and told us that if it were her bird she would run the tests. It was basically a 50/50 anyways so we got him help. We trusted her with everything we had. She knew the proper timing to put buddy away so he wouldn't freak out and die on spot. She has inspired me to become a vet and so was the other place we went to. The other doctor inspired me to become a vet due to the lack of empathy she had and the way she just had no hope. I want to do better. Overall this hospital is amazing and the vets here are very good at what they do! If you have a little pet that you are worrying a lot about.. come here. We are going to be sending a little gift to our doctor because she really helped us and our little Buddy seems to be pushing through. Thank you Palomar!

My rabbit had GI stasis and they got it treated right away!

Palomar Animal hospital is one of the few hospitals that tailor to bunnies. We have made two visits this year. One for the vaccine for R(V)HD2 and the other for cleaning his glands. Both doctors were amazing and the staff was friendly and inviting. We definitely felt comfortable and will go back when needed.

Dr. Jenn & staff have taken care of our feather & fur babies for years and we wouldn't take them to anyone else. They are caring and compassionate.

I've had both of my senior dogs taken care of here. Dr. Handle is the BEST and very protective of my pets. He goes above and beyond, and the techs and staff are phenomenal.

I brought my kitten here very concerned for his health and they instantly helped me make an appointment and got him in there right away. Due to covid I wasn’t able to come in with him but they took care of my baby and got him everything he needed and went over treatment plans with me that would help him. I will definitely be taking him there for all his needs, I love the staff and how friendly they were it was amazing

Having lived in the same place my whole life, my family and I have established a long history with PAH. The doctors here are knowledgeable and friendly, and take every precaution to make sure your pets are happy and healthy.

Even tho I couldn't go inside the building (Covid) I was very pleased with the personnel who came outside to my car to pick up my puppy and do required paperwork. I waited in my car only about 20 minutes before the Vet called me on the phone and discussed her findings and recommendations and answered all my questions. In a few more minutes the vet techs brought my puppy back to me along with a thorough written description of service and itemized statement, plus meds. Everyone I encountered there was very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. I'm happy to have found Palomar Animal Hospital.

I have recently relocated and needed to find a new veterinarian. My standard poodle Charlie had an unexpected eye injury and they fit us in on a Saturday. Everything was clearly explained by excellent staff, excellent pricing, great service. Thank you so much!

I am so grateful to Palomar Animal Hospital for saving my rat baby Rick. He is very young but somehow managed to get an abscess under his eye. The staff was warm and friendly. They were able to work with me to keep treatment within my budget and they took excellent care of him. They drained and cleaned the abscess and he’s on two weeks of antibiotics but his cheek is looking fantastic and I am confident that they saved him from getting a septic infection if it had gone on much longer. I so appreciate their knowledge and expertise with rodents and the care they gave my sweet boy. Will definitely bring him or his brother back if we encounter any other health issues. I feel that my pets are cared for when I go there! Everyone is friendly! And they all like my Guinea pigs!

I have going to Dr Knox for about 10 years for my bunnies and guinea pigs. She is awesome and conscientious. I always know my pets are in great care. They have been awesome with appointments even now during COVID-19. I would not take any of my furbabies anywhere else.

Great friendly Staff at one of the only places that treats birds in North County. Everyone is very helpful and friendly with our bird and the cost is so much better than other places we tried.

The vet and staff were nice. My dog is new from the shelter, so they offered a free first visit. It might be pricey, but it was a good experience and my dog was in better shape after the visit.

We have taken our dogs and cat throughout the years to Palomar Animal Hospital. Dr. Handel is the main Vet at Palomar Animal Hospital we have had the pleasure of working with for our pet’s health care and we are very grateful for his approach to any health concerns for our pets. He takes the time to listen to us and check out our pets. He has an open mind on how to treat any health concerns and goes above and beyond in trying to find out how to help our pets get to their best health. He is a very personable Vet and we always find comfort in his care for our pets. He also discusses treatment for our pets and answers our questions. He offers alternative type options also; whether it be diet change, acupuncture, chiropractor, laser treatment or something he has researched for particularly unusual problems. Dr. Knox is who we have also taken our pets to in times when Dr. Handle wasn’t available. Dr. Knox is very caring for our pets also. She listens to us and takes time to understand what is going on with our pets. Dr. Handel’s staff are nice people too. Chris, the office manager, is always very helpful when we need to get a message to Dr. Handel or have questions. She has a good personality too. Sonia, at the front desk, is very nice on the phone making our appointments and has a smile for you when you come into the office for our pets’ visits or when we pick up medicine. The techs handle our pets with care and understanding. Having a Vet available 7 days a week is awesome also. We have taken our pets to Dr. Handle for over 20 years… sadly we had to move to the Central Coast (300 miles away) recently (2018) and we are trying in vain to find a new Vet in our new place. When you have had the best Vet around it is very hard to be satisfied with less. When you really love your pets, you want the best care for them and that is what we found at Palomar Animal Hospital. We even try to figure out if we can make the trip with our dogs for checkups twice a year…what’s 300 miles anyways for the best care.

Dr. Nissin knows the animals well. She has been seeing my rabbits since the past 4 years. She is very good and makes the pets feel very comfortable
