All the staff and vets are also so caring and helpful. Even if they are over run with emergencies and working so hard! They always treat my cats with such care and compassion and never try to over charge me. I’m so thankful to have such a great vet.

We recently took our two cats to this hospital, the doctors and staff were very respectful and helpful! Thank you for checking up on our cats.

Jackie was such an amazing helper with my Rocky boy when he came for his shots. Receptionist Stephanie was so friendly with my baby and made him feel so welcomed. Definitely recommend bringing your fur baby to Mohnacky they make them feel loved and special ????????????????

They kept trying to tack on unnecessary treatments. My dog had diarrhea and vomiting. He needed flagyl and electrolytes. They wanted to do a full blood panel, x-rays and pancreatitis blood screen. Very expensive. I'll go elsewhere next time.

Great veterinarian recently, my two puppies were sick they took us in right away they laid out a proper care plan with very clear instructions. Their staff is very friendly and attentive overall a good business! 11/10 recommend.

Thank you for taking care of Optimus the senior pug with 10 million ailments and allergies. Everyone is always so kind and thoughtful from doc to the nurses to the techs and the office staff. thank you for letting us come inside for the appointment this time, but we also appreciate all the car side service in 2020/early 2021. We appreciate all the options given to us and the ability to pick and chose the right plan of service and thank you for calling some of our meds into Costco, because then we can get a hot dog too. We love Mohnacky Vista Vets and their staff! Our Vet is Dr. Sacco and she is excellent. She takes time to explain her recommendations and is available to help answer questions. They also understand that people have financial constraints and they are always good at giving options and explaining which treatments we should prioritize for the sake of our pets. Recently, Dr. Sacco acted quickly to resolve a life threatening intestinal issue in our french bulldog that required surgery. She was diligent in reviewing all the possibilities and consulting with other Vets to ensure best treatment plan. We trust her to care for our pet because of her skillset, knowledge, experience, care and kindness which she has always shown towards us and our pets. All of the staff members are equally amazing, Michelle, Cheri, Lacie, Rachel, to name a few. They truly care and we appreciate all that you do for the community! It's hard work, but your passion has an impact! Thank you!

This is the second time I've taken my dog, Hektor, to the Mohnacky Animal Hospital of Vista. I had similar experiences both times. Both times, the vet has immediately recommended expensive and stressful procedures. The first time I took Hektor it was to see if he had a yeast infection of the paws. Shortly after I dropped him off, I received a call saying they would need to put Hektor under anesthesia in order to examine his paws. Hektor is a non-aggressive dog who I warned them is very nervous with other people, and needed some introduction/time to warm up without me present. I asked to come in and, due to COVID regulations, could not. They prescribed expensive medication to take home and give him in order to calm him down for the next day. The next day the vet said she took more time allow Hektor to get used to her presence and he wasn't difficult to handle at all, like I had suggested doing the first day. I understand it's a busy practice, but what I don't understand is why that wouldn't have been the first option vs. anesthesia in evaluating a dog for a yeast infection. The second time I took Hektor, I did so only because Mohnacky could get him in more quickly than elsewhere. I work as a dog trainer and often take Hektor with me into kennels at the facility, where he picked up kennel cough. Because he's never been sick before, the kennel cough hit him harder than I would have expected, and I wanted to get him medications if necessary. I dropped him off at 9:45am. I received a call at 10:13 telling me that Hektor had been evaluated and appeared to have kennel cough. They then proceeded to prescribe medication and scheduled a chest x-ray ($200 dollars and, again, another stressful procedure). I asked if a chest x-ray was necessary and if he was showing any symptoms to suggest pneumonia, to which they said "No, it is not necessary. We can just prescribe him medication and see if he gets better." ... Again, why was that not the first choice? The immediate suggestion of first anesthesia and then a chest x-ray really gives the impression they don't care about the health of the animal, but about making money. At 10:13, they also informed me that he nervously pooped in his kennel and that they were going to bathe him and do a fecal test. I said no worries, that sounded fine. They told me they would get back to me shortly. At 1:15pm, I still had not heard back from them and decided to call. They informed me the fecal came back and that they were waiting for the vet to perform a final physical. They said she would be with him soon, and that they decided not to give Hektor a bath because it would be stressful for him. I thought that sounded reasonable, as I assumed I would be picking him up soon. By 4pm, I still had not received a call. At 4:20, I finally called Mohnacky Animal Hospital. At that point, they answered the phone and seemed surprised that I had not yet picked up Hektor. I quote, "Oh! He's been done for a while!" Apparently, they had forgotten to call me to pick him up. By the time I did pick Hektor up, it was 5pm. He still had poop all over his paws, and he was clearly stressed. Frankly, I am extremely disappointed in the care at Mohnacky Animal Hospital and will not be going back. A simple check up/diagnosis took the entirety of the day. While I understand that vet offices are busy places, I expect the best care of my animal. Additionally, both times I took my pet there, they suggested expensive and unnecessary procedures to diagnosis him, vs. slowing down and taking the time to do it in a less stressful fashion. I specifically took time off work in order to allow Hektor time to rest at home. Instead, he spent the entire day at a vet office when all of his tests had been completed by 1pm. I find it extremely unprofessional/disorganized that I was not called immediately when he was done, and that it took so long for him to receive a final physical examination when, in reality, that could have been done while waiting for the fecal test to come back.

I called to get an estimate on their scheduled C-section cost and they would not provide info unless I took my pet in for exam that would cost me $70.00....I explained that my pet has been seen and has gotten the care she needs Through out her pregnancy and I just wanted a simple estimate. They dont care to help people they just want your money! I DO NOT RECOMMEND!

I was very nervous bringing "Max" to the Vista Mohnarcky Hospital, even though I was referred here by a very good friend.. All of the staff were very kind and helpful. The doctor was very informative and said that overall Max looks great. Holly also went over the cost and gave other options to cover costs, and assured me that Max was doing well. I felt that Holly was very sincere in all the information provided to me about taking care of Max. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, all parents have to wait in your vehicles, so i was able to people watch as I waited for Max. What i saw was that all of the staff really love the animals and enjoy there Job. Thank you for all you do. I will definitely recommend Mohnacky Hospital Vista, Carlsbad & Escondido. Max's Mom ❤

I would not recommend this place at all. The only good thing was they fit me in with my dog who was having serious problems while other vets were not willing to fit us in the same day. First off, I went to drop my dog off after being told it would be an all day event to wait for her but when I got there they said 45 mins. I waited 45 mins and received a call from the vet diagnosing her and prescribing medicine. I head back to the hospital to get my dog and the front desk said “did someone say your dog was ready?” and she went on a long search to find out what was going on with my dog. But, that wasn’t the worst part since I don’t mind waiting. The real issues started when I paid for my dogs medicines and drove her home. The medicine was expensive as it is but come to find out they charged me someone else’s order along with me which doubled my charge. They called and refunded me the other person’s charge. Since they had two orders in my itemized bill, I wasn’t sure if it was even the right medicine for my dog so I obviously wasn’t going to give her the wrong medicine. Called around a few times and finally got in touch with the front desk saying it was her correct medicine. I proceeded to give my dog the medicine prescribed and the correct times for the first day and noticed she was only getting worse. I called back the vet and was told she would call me soon since I was very concerned about my dog. Never received a phone call back. My dog could’ve been in serious trouble considering her symptoms and diagnosis but nope, why call back ya know? I stopped giving my dog the medicine and noticed her better than I brought her in and better than before I gave her the medicine. I only brought her to this vet because my dog’s usual vet couldn’t fit her in that day. I have an appointment today with her usual vet to have an actual diagnosis and someone who actually cares for my dog, doesn’t charge me my order AND someone else’s, doubling my already expensive bill, giving my dog medicine that made her worse and then not even calling me back when my dog was getting worse when the vet knows exactly what is going on with my dog and it’s not just a little cold or anything. This was my first and last time going to this vet. I appreciate them realizing their charge mistake and refunding me but that doesn’t make up for the fact that the vet did not care for my dog well and clearly did not care what happened to my dog after or knowing how concerned I was for my dog. Don’t go to this hospital unless you want to get double charged, have your dog treated as if they are just a money sign and potentially have your dog in worse condition and have no one care about it. :)

Brought my English Bulldog in to get spayed. What was supposed to be a simple surgery resulted in her death 2 days later and a $450 bill. I received a call from the vet saying they could not determine the reason for her death. Now I have a heartbroken 12 year old son. If they can't handle doing a simple operation they certainly should not be trusted to do complicated things. Save yourself and your animal, DO NOT bring them here.

Absolutely the best Veterinary Service I have ever gone to. Completely kind, to both owners and animals, very communicative so that you always know what is going on and what to expect, which is especially difficult to navigate these days, but they are very good at calling you in your car and still treating you with such respect and compassion, as well as treating your pet the same way, during these frustrating times where a lot of people have just become so rude. They are so professional and very thorough. My dog has had recurring ear and eye infections and three other vets from other clinics would just either ignore it or prescribe the same old meds in a cavalier manner, but he was never getting better. Here at Mohnacky Animal Hospital, they truly wanted to see my dog get better and they wanted to get to the root of the problem, which they did. He has never been happier and he looks fantastic now. No more eye or ear problems! Thank you!

The entire staff made things so easy and Dr. Sacco was so informative and made sure I was comfortable with the care of my two kittens. She made sure that all my questions were answered, and when I left, I was confident that this was my Vet for the life of my kitties.

I am a huge fan of this office because of Dr. Sacco. She is thorough and so helpful and truly cares about our pets. My 2 geriatric dogs have gotten such good care, despite having so many health concerns recently. The office is super accommodating and has always been flexible. They’ve gone above and beyond, and even helped me cut costs when possible during a difficult time. Dr. Sacco is the best vet I’ve seen, and is worth the drive all the way from San Diego!
