I NEVER write reviews, but this place was too awful, I felt the need to warn others. My dog ate some chocolate one night and my husband and and I drove from Big Bear to this place. The amount of times we had to tell the whole 3 people there our story was unbearable. I understand not remembering every dog, cat or other animal you see but the fact they couldn’t even try to remember us, my dog, or the situation made us feel u welcomed and like we were just another number. The situation that really angered me was when the “doctor” told us how he was going to help my dog then said he would call us back with an estimate. Well my husband and I thinking they had it handled left to grab a bite to eat. Someone called us with the estimate and we informed her we were out to eat but to go ahead with the procedures. 2-3 hours later we got another call saying they could NOT start anything without payment. So we wasted 2-3 hours of our time and you let my dog suffer for THAT long? When I proceed to tell her my frustrations she laughed… to say I was angry is an understatement. Please DO NOT TAKE ANY OF YOU ANIMALS HERE. They are unprofessional and I gather they don’t even care about what they do.

Have puppy 3 months old having seizures. Called to see how much it would cost and finally got up there. Guy came out looked at him and said drs in surgery and can’t see him. Call back in maybe a couple of hours! Dog is acting weird, seizing and whimpering. Just awful!

I'm shocked at many of these bad reviews. I can tell they're from loving pet owners but they're also people who don't get how an emergency clinic works. Seriously they're not gonna take your pet right away, if at all, if they're already super busy with tons of sick pets. Like what do you expect, for more staff and a bigger building (more capacity) to miraculously appear the second YOU show up? That's not possible. The quality of their service would only go down if they took on more that they could reasonably handle. If your pet couldn't be seen sooner I'm so sorry, it's the worst feeling to see your pet suffering, but don't take it out on the only vet ER we have up here in the high desert like come on. What we NEED is another ER. My wonderful dog was ran over the other night and we brought her here to be put down asap. Her suffering would have lasted wayyyy longer if we had to wait to take her somewhere down the hill or she would have died on the way. My family thanks you guys for serving our community <3 My only suggestion is to put more signs up from the street pointing to the entrance cause it was difficult to find it at night

I am so thankful for the Dr. Sandhu. He gave us honest, real, black and white advise when it came to our old dog's time to pass. I'm in admiration of these people! their job is heart breaking and busy, yet they made us feel well taken care off. Thank you

This place is all about cash money. They have no compassion for a suffering dog .$1000 upfront critical injury deposit wasn't enough....they wanted an additional $ 4, 800 to do a surgery that she may not have survived.when we couldn't pay the $4, 800 they euthanized her and kept the $1000 deposit and said that $700 was still owed.Very cold hearted with no compassion for the pet owner or the suffering pet.

We brought my sick cat here on a Saturday afternoon. We could not get in at any of the many places we called, except for one other emergency clinic in Indio (which had a 4 or 5 hour wait time). We were there only about 20 minutes when they came out to get info. They brought our kitty into the vet and she called us on our phone in the parking lot to discuss our pets health. The vet Dr. Wehmeyer and all of the staff we encountered treated us and our pet with care and concern. We would definitely bring any of our pets here again.

Thank you animal emergency clinic for being so communicative and understanding my worry for my furbaby. I reccomend this place they’re very fast and responsive.

Although they were kind and professional with me having to put my cat down, I thought they had very, very expensive rates. A cat less than 10 pounds cost as much to cremate as a dog of 75 pounds, which was almost $260.????

After waiting 3 1/2 hours in the car, we didn’t even have anyone come out and check on us. When we called to let them know we were back from getting food (they told us to go home or get food while we waited) they acted like they didn’t know who my dog was. Now my dog is in pain, limping, and has to wait until the morning to be seen for a very deep laceration. Very unprofessional place.

took their time like crazy, took advantage and charged 3x more than an average vet, hardly did anything and refused to even touch my dog without me paying full amount. keep in mind this was an actually emergency also like they saw my dog whimpering with chunks missing from her back and such but they made us wait in the hot car for 4 hours. these people dont actually care to help they care about doing the bare minimum for the most money they can get out of you.

My dog was suffering from a stroke and they never even cared. When they did get back to me “my dog wasn’t suffering enough to charge me thousands of dollars so he cannot be seen”. I used to love this place they were once very reliable but now all they care about is money. If you value your pets life absolutely DO NOT COME HERE!!!!!

If you value your pets life do not take them here!!!! If your pet is deemed not critical as they see it you will be sitting there for hours if you’re seen it all. Absolutely the worst place to take your pet!!DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They will let your dog die in your arms in the parking lot!!!

DO NOT ever take your animal here!!! Your pet will die in your arms outside in their parking lot because they could not care any less…… unless they’re going to be able to charge you thousands of dollars then they will take you in , because this is a business that’s only motivated by dollar signs!! THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR PET!! Take your pet literally anywhere else ,five hours away from here ,they will be seen with more care ,with more kindness ,more professionalism and in a more timely manner then this place could ever possibly come close to. This place needs to be SHUT DOWN NOW , and that would still not be soon enough.

Watch out for that doctor kevorkian guy,he tried to convince me to kill my dog about a year ago when all that was wrong with my dog was a sprained hip.

This is the worst emergency animal hospital I have ever encountered. A few years ago, I brought my cat in because he clearly was having trouble breathing. They told me they could not do anything for him, and they didn’t even want to put him on oxygen because they didn’t think it’d help much. The next morning my cat passed away, and my primary veterinarian said if he had gotten help sooner, he may have made it. Tonight, my puppy began throwing up, her heart was racing, she was drooling, and she couldn’t walk straight. Her symptoms worsened within the span of 20 minutes and soon she wasn’t even able to stand up or walk correctly. We raced her here expecting an EMERGENCY animal hospital to do something. They had the doors locked, and when we called, they told us that they were at maximum capacity and were not even accepting new patients for the night, though they were empty. We then began heading down the hill to another emergency vet, hoping they weren’t full. I called the one in Hesperia once again, hoping maybe they’ll change their mind. Then the story changed, and they said that the doctors were in surgery and weren’t able to take her in. We ended up calling the ones down the hill to see if the trip was even worth it, and none of the 4 we were around could take her either. This needed immediate action, and could not wait. I called yet again 20 minutes later hoping they could do something for her. They still refused, and at this point our dog couldn’t even stand. The DOCTOR then got on the phone and began explaining we should wait until morning and try nurturing her at home. She was very rude and snappy, and would interrupt while we were explaining the situation. She got upset when she needed to repeat herself, as if we weren’t panicked enough. We had to explain to her that she was dying, and she would not budge. So much for the doctors being in emergency surgery. Our puppy was struggling to breathe, and began having a seizure while we were on the phone with her. We were going to race again to the vet, but once we got to the car, our puppy had passed. We were very upset and told her our pup had passed. At this point, my dad was mad as well and “thanked her” for her help. She had some nerve to say, you’re welcome, then hang up the phone. Absolutely horrible. I do not recommend this vet AT ALL, and don’t even understand how this is considered an emergency vet. If you’re looking for immediate help, don’t expect it from this “emergency” animal hospital.

Waited at the front at 11am for them to open at 12 bc our doggy was lethargic and clearly ill. We waited for three hours until someone came out and told us to go home—that we were next but due to a rattlesnake bite emergency with another pet, they couldn’t see us for 4-6hours. That time went by and no one called. We had to call TWICE and spoke to two different people who had no idea we were waiting or were next. Finally they told us they’re “too busy.” We drove an hour down to Upland in the middle of the night trying to find care. My dog, unfortunately, did not make it. I am absolutely devastated.

I think they saved my dog's life. She went downhill quickly, and when we got her here, we found out she was in liver failure. They nursed her back and were very attentive and thorough. The doc is on site all night which is very reassuring. I would highly recommend. Have been here several times with after hour emergencies, and they have always nursed our babies back.

Called about my dogs infection and they said that they weren’t taking anyone in at the moment and All I wanted was some help and I voiced it very strongly and I was called being nasty when all I was doing is trying to get some help about my dog and he said I can go down the hill like it’s so easy to drive 40min when my dog is in pain. Worst place ever. Unprofessional, rude and helpless . Don’t go here , go down the hill like they told me.

I submitted an admit form at 8am to get my sick dog in for emergency. I called back at 10 and they said the vet was busy and probably wouldn’t see my pet til 4pm. I called back again at 5:30 pm and they said nobody ever printed my paperwork and to try again the next day. Basically they forgot about my sick dog and failed to do their job. Unprofessional considering this is supposed to be an emergency animal hospital and I can’t even get seen.

I wish I could rate 0 stars. We brought our dog diesel in because he was experiencing symptoms of ivdd. The vet claimed they have dealt with plenty of cases of this. The only way to diagnose this condition is through an mri. They insisted on getting X-rays blood work etc instead of an mri. Unfortunately I was not there to make any decisions, my boyfriend was the one who was taken advantage of. By then of the visit there was NO treatment but a whopping bill of 1000. That's money we could have put toward surgery or the mri. The medication they gave them made him extremely sick and he has been declining ever since. Know what you need before going in and refuse care if the price is too much. Unfortunately it's much more expensive to save a life then it is to end one. Just shows you this vet really doesn't care about animals and cares more about the money. Makes me sick to my stomach. Do not go here!!

I am so heart broken. I had a very bad experience. I took my pregnant Frenchie in labor on Memorial Day at around 1 pm. She was scheduled for a c section 6/1/21 but went into labor early. ( she had all signs that she was in labor from nesting and panting hard and her temperature dropping at home.) they wouldn’t do a c section until she showed signs of pushing. The Dr. advised us to wait 24 more hours. The following morning at around 4am (less than 24 hours later) I observed my dog straining and pushing. So when it came time to take her in because she was pushing the Dr. was not there and they would not accept her. My dog was in obvious labor and attempting to give birth to her litter. They told us to go all the way to another 24 hour emergency clinic in Ontario CA, WITH A PUPPY’S LEG Starting to come out. Later that morning, The Ontario clinic calls us that 1 puppy is dead, 2 have low heart beats and only 2 puppies will make it. 2/5 will make it.

I brought my 9 week old french bulldog here last night around 8 pm . I called so they can check her in she was not herself she had diarrhea was vomiting and had loss of appetite. They told me I had to submit a form online then they checked her for possible parvo which came out negative and then took her inside around 10 pm to check her vitals . Then the doctor called me that they can give her treatment for antibiotics, de worming medication and some hydration fluid and told me they will call me once she is ready to get picked up. It did not feel safe to leave her but you would think she would be in great care. They called at 1:20 AM and said she is ready, I picked her up and I can tell she was not herself she felt droopy and in pain had a swollen neck/back as soon as I arrived home my puppy collapsed I called the hospital freaking out I was sobbing and they said to check her gums I told them it was turning white they said they were not able to help us out over the phone especially if we're screaming. We couldn't bare the pain to see our cookie that way we don't know what went wrong they told us to bring her back and my baby was gone she died in our arms I just can believe it. It is so devastating. I should have read the reviews before bringing her here. All they said is that it could've been an allergic reaction to the medication. She was just a puppy and they could not determine the cause of death. They don't have the proper "lab" to determine her death they stored her body to have her get an autopsy. So angry with myself to have allowed this to happen I brought her here to get professional care.

If I could give zero stars I would. Took my dog to emergency and they turned him away even though he was clearly in a lot of pain. The people were rude and didn’t seem to care about my dog and his well being. I ended up having to take him somewhere. So unprofessional so rude. And clearly they do not care about animals. Basically told me “clearing your care about your dog but we don’t.”
