Dr. B. Veltri is an exceptional veterinarian who diagnosed my dog Bella's sudden blindness within a few minutes of examining her. That was back in 2014 when she was 11 yrs old. Bella is now in her 19th year with new health issues so I specifically requested an appointment for her to be seen by Dr. Veltri for the new health issues. At the appointment, Dr. Veltri reviewed all the lab results I brought with me and even thanked me for doing that. Due to Covid protocols, I wasn't able to be in the room during the visit but Dr. Veltri called me as soon as he completed his exam, asked me questions in order to get more history, and answered all my questions. He described his assessment in layperson's terms for me and presented me with his recommendations for treatment. The very next morning, he called me to discuss the blood test results and again, took the time to answer all my questions. From there he helped me develop a path forward. I felt very reassured that Bella is in good hands and I am comforted knowing that I have a plan for managing her new health issues while preserving her quality of life. I also want to add that the hospital staff, from the front office staff to the vet techs that Bella and I interacted with are all very friendly took great care with her. Thank you Dr. Veltri and your team!

Once again, the nurses and Dr. Wright took great care of Lucy! Lucy has come through many physical trials in her 10 years of living. As a rescue dog, found on the streets of Los Angeles unable to walk, she is a survivor. I’m grateful to the staff at Redwood Veterinary Hospital for the consistency of quality care they provide especially in the midst of this stressful pandemic.

I have not used any other vet since I moved to Vallejo in 2010! They are wonderful, knowledgeable, kind, and very professional. I moved to Fairfield in 2016 and still come back to Redwood Veterinary Hospital. There is nowhere else I will take my fur babies. Between October 2018 and August 20, 2020 I lost three fur babies to old age due to the wonderful care they had received over the years from the vets and vet techs at Redwood Veterinary Hospital. Each time they helped me through the most difficult decisions the of my life. Their compassion was off the charts!! Each and every time I got a lovely note of condolence from them. It is true that it's currently more difficult to get an appointment due to covid protocols and staffing shortages. I'm willing to willing to wait because they are worth it!

Great pet care, but be prepared to wait a while. My appointments aren’t on time and it’s hard to get a vet appointment (three months out, as of this writing). I have experienced this will all other vets since COVID, so I’m not docking them any stars for that. I feel they are reasonable and honest with the treatments they recommend. I’ve also (due to COVID) overheard some staff/patient interactions in the parking lot. I can say that they have a great bedside manner, especially with families whose pets are at the end. They are compassionate with people and animals.

We’ve been solely coming here since we moved here in 2019. Our 3 year old small dog developed a bad leg a year ago and is quite traumatizing to see your youthful dog having recurring leg issues. As others have mentioned here in the comments, to get an urgent appointment can take weeks or months. Not to say you can’t get one but they are completely busy and seem to have a bottleneck in their service every time we need their assistance. They have become way too transactional. My pup’s condition has been ongoing and their current service model and performance is really lousy. These glowing 5 star comments are a bit at odd with reality. This place may be par/okay (3 at best) if you need a one time appointment or annual physical for your pet and move on. When I pay you thousands of dollars for X-rays, assessments, pills, surgery, office visits fees, the least one would expect is a follow up call with the results, recommendations, or a follow up call for the concern for his overall welfare. Nope.. at each juncture we initiated and sometimes pleaded for timely fulfillment of requests, whether to just hear what the doc has to say to getting a receipt or medical record. If they didn’t cause such consternation I would not have questioned their medical opinion for surgery and get a 2nd opinion for surgery. If they had a little more humanity and service in their business I’d never have questioned their advice. It’s that simple. Each time this year or last, we have had to schedule something further out than we’d like. To make matters worse every time we arrive promptly to our appointments or pickup we still have to wait in their parking lot 20-40 minutes after the scheduled times. We chose this hospital so we didn’t have to drive 30 minutes to commute to the old vet in Oakland. I’d expect this always late service model from my primary physician not my vet. The reality is you sit in your car and you watch their staff constantly run in and out without knowing which patient is next, coming, or going. We’ve been their more times than we’d like this year and see this every time. I agree Covid has affected every business but you can control your organization and personal touch service, which both are lacking. For the cost of the your services I’d expect more. Were going back to our old vet or another local vet. Stay away if you need a vet and often for your pet.

After using this business for all my pets’ needs (except vaccinations), for over 2 decades, I can’t get an appt for my 16 yr old dog to have her advancing heart condition checked for 2 more months! I have recently adopted two rescue cats who will need vaccines, care, and a veterinary home base for their lifetimes. Unfortunately it probably will not be Redwood Vet. I know they’ve reduced staff and hours, but now that’s affecting care for their patients. That’s not ok especially as they are one of the higher priced vets locally. It’s unfortunate.

I was looking forward to our appt for our cat, diagnosed with conginitive heart failure. She received proper care and her doctor was very detailed. I was pleased with their customer service, resealable prices and happy with their care and concerns. Thank you!

I found Redwood Vet staff to be very professional, so helpful, and on time with my appointment. I was able to get an appointment because of a cancellation. This particular pet of mine hadn't been seen by them and I was concerned because there was a back story to her symptoms, but the staff was amazing and really listened to my entire account of events. Because Covid protocol is in place, I couldn't go into the office, so I was really pleased when the Dr. called me with a full account for my pet. She reviewed everything with me and I felt comfortable that my cat was in great hands. I would highly recommend Redwood Veterinary Hospital.

I really enjoy bringing my dog here. Even though it’s a small office in a not so easy to access area, the service and care for my pet is amazing. Dr Lau is very thorough, made herself knowledgeable of my pets history since it’s her first time seeing my dog. And her assistant was super sweet and kind to my dog.

Redwood Vet is amazing. I have an aging pup and in the last 2-3 years, we have been making constant visits to the vet. Every staff member is patient, accommodating, and truly cares for each animal that comes through their doors. Every time I come to pick up my dog, they tell me how good she was at her visit. I never feel nervous coming to the vet because I know that my dog is in good hands. Recently, my dog had to have an emergency surgery. We were very lucky to have the Redwood Vet staff recognize the urgency and accommodate us in their schedule even though they had two other surgeries on that day. I will be forever grateful for how each staff member jumped in to help save my dog from a very dire situation. Thank you Redwood Vet for taking good care of us!

Our two Akitas have always worn down their nails running on our patio, now that we have had the patio redone with a smooth finish, they both needed their nails clipped. Maggie is delightful, but still doesn't like her feet touched so she is a little challenge, Bear is fearful of everything at the vet's office so he is a huge challenge. Our vet techs were incredible and handled over 200 pounds of dog beautifully. Big thanks!

I called 8 times on 8 different occasions and am always quickly put on hold. This last time I asked not to be placed on hold and that I had a quick question, the lady ignored me and placed me on hold anyways. This is unfortunate! Not professional at all.

Redwood Veterinary Hospital in Vallejo provides excellent, professional service. The follow-up is amazing with a call from the doctor who examines your pet. Front office staff to vet techs and doctors all show a genuine concern for their clients, both human and pets.

I bring my cat in for his appointment, after having to reschedule the appointment once, due to a change of schedule, and once, due to the Veterinary saying that the appointment I had scheduled was not available. After I parked, I called the number to let them know I had arrived (as their sign says to do). I called several times with no answer. I eventually went in, and had to wait several minutes to get assisted. I told the woman at the front desk what I was there for. I explained that I had an appointment for my cat. She said, "Okay, I'll have to talk to the vet first." She comes back, and tells me they close in 15 minutes and that I have to reschedule, and asked if tomorrow works. I told her that it didn't, and that I had already had to reschedule multiple times. I also explained that my cat is very difficult to get in the carrier, and that it's stressful for both of us. They could've notified me that my appointment needed to be rescheduled before I went through all the hassle of corralling him, and bringing him in. THEY picked that appointment time, not me. She didn't seem to care about any of it. They just lost a customer.

They were so helpful and caring! They gave my dog a great exam, all care that he needed, and pinpointed the needs of his complaint without recommending every costly item under the sun. Will definitely be back next time I have an issue!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! My cat was urinating blood and they got us in for an appointment asap! From the first phone call to schedule an appointment and the follow up calls with the Dr’s.
