This group has helped me with all my dogs who have had eye problems...they are professional, caring, reliable and very responsive. I have never been disappointed by Eye Care for Animals in Tustin and I have been using them for over 20 years.

17 year old 6lb maltipoo Daisy's left eye diagnosed with glaucoma in 2019. Dr Fritz (no longer there) prescribed effective eye drops that helped avoid scheduled eye removal....so grateful! Fast forward through pandemic to Nov 2021, Daisy's left eye showing discomfort. Used daily warm compresses to provide itch relief and remove constant gunk. Dr Brinkis prescribed dry eye drops and ointment thankfully since I feared an unwanted expensive procedure would be needed. Long wait for appts but only indicates their services are in demand. Support staff are caing and super joyful especially Katherine which is really appreciated when you can't be with your doggy during checkups.

I recently had to take my French bulldog in for an emergency consultation over the weekend. Dr Brinkis was immediately available to us. His kindness, care and understanding was instrumental in my dogs care. Additionally his office was extremely professional, kind and took time to answer all our questions. We highly recommend him and his team!

Couldn't be happier with my experience at the Tustin eye care. When I called to make the appointment I talked to a lady named Michelle who explained to me how their process worked now with Covid, and that the next appointment was almost a month away. I was fine with that because the extra safety measures made me more comfortable. I was a little worried about not going in to the office because my Shih tzu is scared around people he doesn't know. When I came in for the appointment Leanna, came outside to get my little guy, and much to my surprise, he almost jumped in to her arms tail wagging the whole time. She kept me informed of everything and explained all the ootions to me. I'm thrilled to say that almost 2 months later, my fur baby is responding well to the medicine and I am extremely grateful to everyone at the eye care clinic!

Bring your wallet!!! I paid one amount for the left eye procedure then twice the amount for the right eye. They charge you over the top prices to “re-check” and tell you to continue the eye drops. There's a "prepaid" amount on occasion, but not always offered upfront apparently. When I asked Julius Brinkis to slow down (he talks very fast) and explain the two different eye drops' schedule again, he told me "don't worry, there won't be a test." It wasn't said in a funny way like some people say it, it was sarcastic and unprofessional. The guy's a jerk. What a hustle. Never again

Why is it so expensive for a 10 minute consultation? They charged me $230 for the nurse to take a pressure test (which took MAYBE 10 seconds) and a tear test ( 60 seconds). Then the doctor came in, told me it's cataracts (he was in there MAYBE 4 minutes), then hands me an estimate for over $5000 in tests and surgery for 1 eye. I feel very overcharged for an INCREDIBLY SIMPLE examination. I ABSOLUTELY HATE that I am being forced to "shop around" when it comes to taking care of my poor little puppy. But greed always wins unfortunately. Honestly, I knew this was going to be expensive... But $200 for a quick first meet and greet examination on top of all that? Not cool. Edit 8/31/20 Just had to bring my dog Obi back for a "follow up". He was inside the vet for MAYBE 3 minutes. The doctor called within 60 seconds after we handed Obi over to the vet to tell us everything looks great! (We had to wait in the car due to COVID.) So, if we were only there for 5 minutes, and the doctor literally took less than 60 seconds to look at my dog, AND THEY CHARGED ME ANOTHER $120. FOR 60 SECONDS OF LITERALLY NOTHING BEING DONE. THIS PLACE IS RIDICULOUSLY UNFAIR AND EXPENSIVE. PRAY YOU NEVER HAVE TO TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

Bella Bascos and Owners say this about Dr. Brinkis; Hes a very kind and generous man. He checked me out and saw that my people had taken such good care of me even though they put that hard plastic around my neck for two suns and two moons I was surprised when my eyeballs didnt hurt as much as they did and I could see out of them. Both of my people have been home a lot and wear masks around now and I overheard the doctor say he couldnt find anything interesting and how they wouldnt charge and I heard something else about me my people say furloughed. But I dont u understand bcuz I have a lot of fur how could I be low? Thank you dr brinkis for making my people so happy and from my people ; thank you for paying it forward you're a wonderful man *happy tears.

Great doctors. Expensive visit, but worth finding out what's happening to my pups eyes. However, their supposed 2-week "check-up" will cost you the same amount as the initial exam, even-though they didn't do a thorough examination. I find it very, very suspicious. Please look elsewhere.

I thought the staff were great and Dr Fritz was very good with my pet. He didn't push expensive options but explained all options to consider and then gave us his opinion on what he believed was the best choice versus the money involved.

Super friendly and caring staff. The Doctor takes the time to explain what is happening with your puppies in full detail. Really enjoyed my first visit here. Kairi and Missy are looking better as their eyes aren't swelling any more ^_^

Rated low due to long waits (avg. 1 hour with appt.)They book more than one client at the same time. The vets are very competent but be ready for a big bill. I will continue with them, but just be prepared. Good coffee machine is a plus. ????

Im not one to leave a review/comment, but I felt the need to do so to ensure all dog parents are well informed. My experience with Dr. Brinkis was TERRIBLE! Initially I felt trusting of him and his experience being that my vet recommended Eye Care For Animals. Dr. Brinkis did cherry eye surgery for my (8 month old) English Bulldog; mind you this was her 2nd surgery (first was done with her vet during her spayed surgery). When we met with Dr. Brinkis he said he would do the surgery but if it failed the 3rd surgery would be to remove the glad. So we did the 2nd surgery and at our three week check up he cleared my pup & said my pup was good to go & could take her cone off.....but despite her being cleared I still didn’t let her play with our neighbors dogs or even with her toys, mostly to be safe & give her a little more rest time...well 2 days after being “cleared” her cherry eye was back, meaning the surgery failed! We met with Dr. Brinkis (5 days after being cleared & 3 days after it failed) where he said to me “yup the cherry eye is back” (which was obvious) but offered no possible explanation or reason on why the surgery could have failed; however then he started talking about doing another surgery before he’d remove the gland completely; which left me confused being that, that was not our original discussion. However before we left that appointment I received a quote for the 3rd surgery, which was MORE EXPENSIVE then the 2nd. I called my vet and asked her to call and speak with Dr. Brinkis to get some clarification; however he was unavailable, so she spoke with another specialist and was told that they charge less when the first surgery fails. Yet the quote I received was MORE EXPENSIVE! So a couple weeks later I called & spoke with Dr. Brinkis & expressed how I was torn on doing a 3rd surgery to try & keep the glad intact or just having him remove the gland. I explained how my decision is being influenced by the financial aspect due to not having the funds ($2000+ each surgery) for two more possible surgeries & his response was “You just have to pick your poison.” That’s when I knew I would not return to this establishment!! I’ve never been so disappointed or disgusted in any physicians response as I was with him! To be so cold hearted or dismissive showed me exactly the type of person he was! I caution all pet parents to be well informed and ask for second opinions from outside physicians before allowing them to do any procedure on your pet!!

Our old dog had cataracts and glaucoma and developed a painful ulcer in right eye and had to have it removed. Our regular vet recommended this place as a specialist in eye care for dogs and we could not have been happier. Yes the surgery cost a bit more than at the general vet but the fact that they told us to go here meant a lot. Staff and doctor were awesome and took the time to explain procedure. He was up and about the next day but had to wear a cone to prevent scratching. Had our 2 week follow up this week and doc was pleased with how well it was healing with no puss or discharge at all. It was an emotional toll for the kids but this place helped ease our anxiety and we had a great outcome!

I have also experience staff that are not very compassionate and or helpful and extremely short with you, It is really hard to get an appointment, you do wait a very long time past your appointment time and 5 minutes with the doctor is lucky at best. I do think the doctors are very talented but if I had another choice I would go somewhere else based on the experience.
