We have gone here for about 12 years with excellent service and called to get my dog in for an ear infection and they told us they can’t see him until Christmas and to go to and ER. This is definitely not the type of service we received before it got bought out by VCA. They used to be so caring and accommodating but now only see dogs for routine check ups, must be why all the other vets left this place as well. Look else well.

Place was absolutely fantastic. The staff are all animal lovers through and through!! The vet was kind, patient, and courteous. Seriously, check this place out! :D

Asked for an appointment to do a certificate to travel to Europe which we have done previously in this clinic. First, the lady on the phone didn't know what Switzerland is... she called me two times to verify the name of the country. Second, they don't have any availability to do a travel certificate (which would take them 15 mins and $200). Third, very rude and unprofessional staff.

I must sing praises for Dr. Chelsea Cummings at VCA Camino Animal Hospital in Thousand Oaks. If you are looking for a Vet who truly cares for your pet as though they were her own and is extremely knowledgeable and thinks outside the box to address your pets health issues, then this is the doctor for you!❤️ She is amazing, warm, thoughtful and balances treatment costs with your budget whenever she can. Her kindness and veterinary skills are a true blessing when your pet needs great care! Love her!!!❤️

Miscommunication between staff and client, so i had to go back to have the issue rechecked.. Got charged for the re-exam that they failed to complete in the 1st place. Told me there was nothing wrong with him, yet comes home and is still having same issues... Update: spoke to thw lady in charge. They adjusted the price for me for when I got the overcharge for re-exam. I am still unsatisfied with the overall outcome. Will find a new vet closer to home. I live 35 minutes away from the thousand oaks location, I chose VCA because of the quality care i have experienced in the past at 3 different locations across California. This location doesnt meet the expectations from my prior experiences.

My dog is very sick I was recommended an ultrasound by my vet. I called for an appointment and asked what the minimal cost would be. They refused to quote me the cost of an ultrasound telling me it depended on my pet. Other places I called ALWAYS quoted me a price. I find this attitude VERY unprofessional and I would advise people to go somewhere else...

I have a long history with the Doctor's in the Conejo Valley. But the one who impressed me the most is Stacy Hall. She saved my dog's life. I met her when I was cold calling for an Ultrasound . No one would help me. My dog was tanking and critical. The emergency hospital had no one qualified. On about my 10th call Stacy answers the phone. It was lunch time and I had been turned down by some because they were about to take lunch.Stacy also was heading out for lunch. Her response was Bring her in now ! I don't practice lunch, I practice medicine! She saved my dog's life. She is excellent!!

Dr. Hall has been caring for my 2 aging small dogs for years. From check-ups to emergencies, her expansive knowledge and deep compassion has, quite literally, saved both their lives. Wonderful place for pets.

I made an appointment for my dog. The desk asked why I was bringing my dog into the VCA pet hospital. I explained ALL of the details of the issues my dog was experiencing. After she listened to the problems with my dog, took my information, she made an appointment. I asked to be certain, if the initial visit would be complementary as was clearly stated on the website. I was told, "Yes", the first time visit would be a complimentary exam. The Thousand Oaks office on Moorpark Road CHARGED me for the exam anyway! I called other VCA offices and explained the entire situation to each of them, and was told that if I had an appointment, which I did, and if it was not an emergency, which it wasn't, that the doctor fee is waived for 1st time, first visit clients. I called the VCA Thousand Oaks branch back, to ask why I was charged. Sherry said it was due to an exam. Was that not what was offered on the website? Did I not ask about the fee AFTER citing the dog issues? Am I not correct in feeling that someone is not clear about their offers and a 1st time exam?...AND, they did not offer the cone for my dog the doctor said my dog should have? Very inefficient! I paid for the EXAM and medicines, but will write to the headquarters and not do the follow up appointment with this site! Go to the Westlake Village office!

Dr.s Frier and Cummings have provided the furry members of our family with nothing short of the best in medical care. They have been both clinically and emotionally supportive beyond what I have experienced anywhere else. While it is extremely difficult to find a great family practitioner for the human members of your family, it is yet even more difficult to find a veterinarian to whom you can trust the non-human members of your family. On top of all the above, while their services are not cheap, their fees are very noticeably lower than the majority of veterinary practices I've seen in both Moorpark and the Conejo Valley. If I gush over them any more, this review will become unbelievable. Timber and Tasha's parents

We are very happy with the Camino Animal Clinic. I've been to a few different vets for my baby, Harley and we're very pleased with this place. The staff is nice and Dr. Cummings is exceptionally awesome! She is knowledgeable, but more than that, she has compassion. An important trait in choosing the right veterinarian to care for your loved one <3

I am new to the area and need a vet since our goldendoodle is experiencing some vomiting and diarrhea. I do believe most of his ailments can be explained by the addition of a new baby to our household. I am so impressed with this facility. Not only is it a clean place, but the staff is above and beyond. Dr. Christopher said it was pointless to run tests until we figure it out if his food is an issue and he prescribed medication to calm his stomach. A nurse named Claire watched my dog and my baby so I could run to my car and grab a diaper. They also provided hypoallergenic food free of cost and a new patient packet which is filled with helpful information a travel water bowl, and a free sample of next guard flea medication. I am so pleased to have found this facility.

Wonderful, caring doctors. The staff is always upbeat, helpful and fun. They have a lot of empathy for their furry patients and parents in time of need. And love, love, love puppies and kitties. Super knowledgeable and always keeping up with their education on vet care. Special shout out and thanks to Dr. Hall who loves what she does and it shows! A++++++++ all the way!

I adopted a pup from Shelter Hope rescue, and the purchase included a number of visits/shots, etc. with Camino Animal Clinic. I have found Dr. Frier and Dr. Hall to be very caring, knowledgeable vets with a great bedside manner with their patients. Because I was taking my new pup there, I decided to take my 9 year old Jack Russell terrier there for some routine work. When I told Dr. Hall that he has been on allergy medication for years, she asked why I hadn't tried a new medication that is a once a month injection that has no side effects and is extremely effective against allergies. I asked that she try it on him as I had asked his doggy dermatologist about it several years before and he did not want to try it. She gave my pup the shot and within one day, his itching stopped completely! Moreover, the injection lasted 8 weeks and the one after that lasted 12 weeks. I was so extremely happy to find a medication that is 100% effective and long lasting. Kudos to Camino Animal Clinic!!

I have been bringing my dog Chato to Dr. Frier at the Camino Animal Clinic since I adopted him six years ago. This clinic had been recommended by a pet sitter (who has since retired) whose business name was The Furry Godmother OF The Conejo Valley. I have been very pleased with the care that my dog gets at the Camino Animal Clinic and can recommend them very highly.

Camino Animal Clinic did an amazing job with my Korky! He had broken one of his molars and a nerve was exposed. They did a root canal and a crown to save his tooth! The staff is friendly, caring and helpful.

Just took my lab puppy in for a foxtail up her nose. Dr. Hall took care of my pup, and was so kind and caring that I had to write a review. When I asked about the procedure, she took me through it step-by-step. Then she gave me an itemized estimate before taking my puppy. While she was being treated, which included anesthesia, the doctor sent me text messages including photos of Raven undergoing treatment! Who does that?! When I went to pick my dog up, Dr. Hall came and sat with me and explained to me what she had done, what she found, what to expect and spent about 10 minutes talking to me. For several days after the procedure the office called me to make sure Raven was OK and taking her medicine. Americas medical doctors could take a lesson from the treatment my dog gets at this vet clinic. Everybody in the place clearly loves their jobs, and Raven even got free massages while she was there! I can't say enough good things about this place!

I have been going to Camino Animal Clinic since I moved to Thousand Oaks 20 years ago. Dr. Frier has been very supportive over the years helping my Pups get through some really tough times. Their longevity and good health over the years is because of his care. Recently I almost lost my Miniature Poodle due to some kind of poisoning. If it was not for Dr. Hall and the immediate action she took to save him the outcome would of almost been unbearable. All three of my senior Pups are now healthy and strong because of Dr. Frier, Dr. Hall and their amazing staff of "Care Givers".

Camino Animal Clinic is amazing! All the doctors have helped out and been there for my three pets. Dr Hall specifically is an angel! When my cat had aggressive cancer she came in on her day off (this person has a family!) for surgery. Saved my sweet kitty. I can say enough good things. When my same elderly cat had to visit the emergency vet her follow care was better than when I went to the emergency!! They are the best!

Dr Friar was extremely patient and thorough. Also very aware of the impact of the cost involved and he was very helpful in prioritizing which tests were more important
