Puppy Love Sparks, California

I've always been hesitant to go in here because Puppy Love has a reputation in Reno (because of the old owners). However, with the new owners, and honestly the really helpful and positive staff, I thoroughly felt comfortable buying a puppy from here. We bought our boy Tatum who is one of the most well behaved dogs I've ever met. He has an amazing temperament, and I can't help but feel at least part of it is because the girls who work here love the puppies like they're their own. He's healthy, microchipped, and is from a breeder that you can track and even get in contact with if you truly desire. I saw comments saying these puppies come from puppy mills, and I can say that at least from my breeder that is not the case. You have to get a vet visit within three days to activate the health warranty, and with how things are in Reno currently, we had to call around tons of places to find a place. Mt. Rose Animal Hospital got us in within the time frame so I highly recommend trying there. All in all, this was a good place to get our boy! I feel like breeders offer different things than if you were picking up a dog from the humane society, but it really comes down to your needs and what you're looking for in your pet. I love my dog and I'd tell people proceed with caution, but don't hesitate to go in and meet some of their pups.

I paid 3700 for my puppy and he immediately had coughing symptoms. I took him to the vet within 3 days and got him antibiotics. I had to pay the urgent care bill since Puppy Love requires they been seen within 3 days.. which NO VET office can actually provide. SO I had to pay to urgent care fee plus the medication... It's been 2 weeks and he is still coughing. I don't know what's going to happen with future medical bills, as no one at Puppy Love has answered my calls. This should have been caught immediately and treated before I got him. His pen mates probably all have the same problem. I have tried to call puppy love with no answer.

Called and a lady said they were open then when we showed up the door was locked with no sign we looked in and seen a lady eating food in the back when we called she said they were short staffed and feeding the dogs which was a lie because I seen her eating food. Why was it closed when the shop says it closes at 6:30pm and there was no sign saying that they were feeding the dogs and she had the audacity to say then just don’t come over here. Very rude and not professional and taking breaks by closing up when you should be open lying while your eating give me a break.????

Was told and read bad reviews of this place.. wanted to believe otherwise and get a new puppy especially hearing how they don’t take care of them in store… after 5 phone calls during business hours I’m worried from a mix of reviews to extremely poor thoughtless customer service. A company that wants to help animals makes it difficult. This made me want to adopt more to save a poor animal from bad corporate treatment of those just waiting to cash a paycheck. But they not only refuse to help but just treat the customers the same way they treat their animals horribly. Was hung up on multiple times can’t get any information but an attitude. I feel bad for your animals.

They get there puppy’s from puppy mills they abused there animals I’ve bought one from them very sick I thought they were shut down in jail why are they open

We got a puppy back in 12.12.20 to be a 12 weeks old Bernedoodle , microchipped, got all vaccined for his age, and we immediately fell in love, healthy and gorgeous. his temperament was pretty calm and just smart and good dog, he is now 13 months and he gave us such pure joy and happiness everyday. I would like to thank this store “Puppy Love” for finding Tahoe his now name and bringing us so much joy! The store was clean when we went and the people who works there was very helpful and caring. Thank you!

Front desk was nice and helpful but the puppies were very expensive, I fell in love with a pug I got to play with ???? but did not buy because was freaked out by the reviews of puppies going home sick. my only question is what happens to the puppies that don’t sell?????????

Puppies were very cute but kept in small cages with other dogs. Ladies did not pay much attention, it seemed like they didn’t want to do their job. Very slow, I had to wait 30 minutes to see a dog. Overall it was bad experience.

Workers were nice kinda ignored us a little but awesome. Dog are a little expensive

People who sell dogs at prices like this place are the reason we have a puppy mill problem in Reno and anybody foolish enough to pay for a puppy at the price of a used car leaves me almost speechless.

Prices for puppies even with papers were WAY to high if they lowered there prices to a reasonable price this store would gain 5 stars easy all in all though great customer service and a nice store!

Maddi Simpson Way over priced and the puppies are kept in small cages with 2-3 other dogs. There’s no food, water or toys in the cages. I bet they rarely get taken out to play or to go on walks. I’m disappointed in the care of these puppies. They should be put out of business!! Maddi I hope you see this, you're explaining a puppy mile. Others mentioned animal abuse and ppl got arrested. There was this one dog he LOVES ME I LOVE HIM

We had a great experience. Chris provided great customer service. I am glad they ask you to sanitize your hands and wear a mask and enforce it. They are very clean! Which is keeping you safe, the pups safe so they don’t get sick, and themselves, given the environment we are in this should be expected! You are also petting the dogs, touching the windows etc etc. Common sense I say. Anyway! We had time to meet our new guy and play with him despite us coming in at almost closing time. Chris and the other lady who was there, kept the kennels cleaned, both would literally stop to go back and quickly clean up and come back to us to continue answering our questions. Chris was very knowledgeable about all the breeds. He gave great suggestions on what breed would work best for our family and took his time explaining the process of buying our pup, care, shots etc. Yes expensive but you are also getting great service, warranty, microchipped, shots up to date and pups that have been seen by our local vets, set you up for success to take your new pet home. No complaints on my end! Thank you!

They never answered the phone. I have tried three times, I give up. Will not try again.

I want to start by saying that my husband and I were very sceptical after reading the reviews. But after doing a lot of research and reading up on purchasing from a puppy from a store we gave it a chance, and I must say we are very glad we did. I was in contact with a lot of breeders, and I must say they match close to the price of a "good"breeder (depending on the breed you go for). What you get with your puppy is way more then you will get anywhere ells. They not only give you a health guarantee for major problems for a year, but also genetic testing, akc registry, and also a amber alert microchip. We recently adopted a "Teddy Bear" puppy from them and couldn't be happier, our vet said she had normal vaccinations and was very healthy. So I hope if you are looking for a puppy and dont mind the sticker shock, that you will give it a chance and not read into all the hate on google reviews.

Staff very rude and ignorant of laws. They won’t get a dime from us and you should think twice as well.

As I went to this store, I kinda already knew which pup I wanted and due to the fact that we're dealing with COVID at this time I did not expect to be able to have play time with the puppy. So I asked the employee at the counter about him and asked if I could maybe just watch him a little closer like in the playpen without touching him. She was very sweet, she said I can play with him but I'd have to wait 30 minutes after his mealtime, so I waited patiently for my little guy to settle his little belly so I could see him and he's perfect. They did not mistreat the animals, in my opinion. The staff was not rude to me, they were all very patient with me. I immediately made an appointment with my veterinarian to have him looked at the same day I got him and the vet said his heart and lungs sound great and he seems to be in perfect shape with such a cute little personality. I couldn't be happier! I will definitely be going back.

We bought a Italian blue greyhound for our granddaughter, she is in love with her.

They had a ???? I wanted but we couldn't see it until a vet was present. They told us to come back Sunday at 10 A.M. We were back, they didn't even open at 10. Even if their store hours state it so. Waited an hour and a half for a vet to get there. Needless to say, we didn't see the dog, the vet didn't make it and the front clerk flat out lied to us and told us the vet had come and left while we were waiting. Furthermore, the vet comes from San Francisco which doesn't makes sense. Additionally, this place its way overpriced. Do your research! They charge $1.5K over prices. Don't become part of this mismanaged mess.

We should all come together and report this place so it gets closed . They over price the dogs by 1.5k and the dogs are annoying and always crying because they are getting old there and they don’t do any training for them Terrible place

Staff were great and professional, but my Gosh the price is way over priced. Just because its a pure breed and the color was supposedly rare, they over price ut by double. I would advise looking at buying from actual breeders instead of here.

If ZERO stars was an option that’s what this review would be. Purchased a puppy from here. Took her to the vet within the 3 day period and the dog was SICK they refuse to pay for ANY testing to find out what is wrong with the dog. This pup in particular was diagnosed with giardia which was acquired from their facility and is contagious to other animals and possibly humans. So if you plan to purchase a pup from here plan to pay for plenty of stool samples and hope your pup doesn’t pass it to the other dogs in your home. I am going to need test and treat my other dogs in the home. Shouldn’t sell sick pups. Their “health guarantee” is a JOKE. This poor pups lymph nodes were also enlarged ALL but one. They will not pay for testing to find out what is wrong with the dog. I was told “it’s unlikely your puppy will die from this” regardless I was told I was being sold a HEALTHY puppy. This poor puppy is NOT healthy! SO if you want to pay a high dollar amount for a puppy and then a high dollar amount for veterinary care this place is for you! They Switch dogs around frequently so it’s pretty likely all of the dogs there are sick. They shove multiple pups into one tiny glass box
