Nice group of gals. Solo felt very comfortable with them so that's what matters.

The staff is great. Dr. Steele knows her stuff. The only drawback for me is that I’m off Sunday and Monday and they are open Tuesday through Friday because of Covid. They do have a doctor there on Monday but appointments are required. I have recommended Eye Care for Animals to all my friends who have pets. Check them out and you won’t be disappointed, they are wonderful at what they do!!!

Great, caring and experienced staff. Fixed our doggies eyes, from nearly blind to brown and normal. Miracle workers!

Brought my dog in with and issue that ended up requiring surgery, but they were able to diagnose and schedule the procedure same day. He’s a recovered happy boy thanks to them!

I am not an animal expert or anything but they had my kitten for only 15-20 minutes and were able to tell me more words about her diagnosis than I will ever hope to understand. Unfortunately my kitten has permanent eye damage from early age herpes and there's nothing they can do, but the staff was friendly and the doctor was very thorough with her explanation, and even after the exam took extra time to walk me through additional observations and concerns I had. The result is the same--my kitten will probably never have her full vision--but I would much rather have a doctor who is willing to say there isn't much they can do rather than trying to do useless procedures to get more money. They even told me about a neurological problem that I never would have thought to look for beyond her milky eyes! Also doesn't hurt that I think they're the only animal eye experts in the area, but I was very pleased with both the assistants and the vet herself.

Great Admin. Amazing Doctor and assistant amazing they really helped with issues my dog is having and helped explain alot they said they could do a lazer removal of a tumor and sty on her eye during lunch time and she doesn't have to go under anesthesia will look into it with my husband and see. Everyone was very helpful and made me feel so much better about my dog Kaylas eye issues she also is not producing tears so we got medication to help with this and antibiotics. Also showed me some goggles for dogs possibly when we go on our boat in the spring again.

Wonderful Vet, Dr Steele was amazing. The rest of the staff treated our puppy Moo with such great care and concern. We have four French bulldogs, and have never had an issue or understanding about cherry eye, but Dr Steele informed us about the condition, and did a wonderful job at repairing her eye. Before Moo’s surgery she would rub and irritate the eye, so along with the cherry eye, her eye was very irritated. Now I can’t even tell she had surgery, it’s barely noticeable. Our baby is a happy, healthy puppy.

They may save your pet's eye but it will cost you an arm and a leg. 10 min eye surgery $3,000.00 plus the follow ups plus the medication. I would say that it would cost close to $5,000.00 for an eye ulcer. They are corporate board driven to maximize revenue. Nothing wrong with that I guess but my private vet doesn't do that to me.

They got a grass seed out of my dogs eye with a simple out patient procedure. Now she's happy, healthy and rocking amazing rex spec goggles. They helped with fitting so I knew what I needed to order.

Dr. Steele is a compassionate, experienced specialist! If your animal is having problems with his/her eyes, I highly recommend that you get in to see this amazing vet/ophthalmologist immediately for the best possible outcome. Her staff is also top notch and attentive. She went above and beyond to make sure that our precious pup experienced as little pain and trauma as possible. Thank you for your great care Dr. Steele and I'm sorry it has taken me so long to write this review. Our dog is a happy, healthy 14 year old now and has acclimated well to her blindness. We are her seeing-eye people!

Our dog needed emergency attention as we were traveling. Eye Care for Animals Opened on a Saturday just for us for a consultation and surgery. I don’t think Ollie could’ve received better care anywhere. Thank you Linda and Dr. Steele.

To be honest, I was concerned about going to Eye Care for Animals because of all the negative reviews that I read. But I'm so glad I met the doctor and the staff, they have been absolutely wonderful, and extremely helpful. When the pathologist had inconclusive results, he actually tested further on my dogs tumor that was in her eye out of his own pocket. Dr. Steele and her entire staff have been nothing but helpful and caring. Yes, it is a little pricey but that's what you pay for a specialist.

Dr. Steele made the procedure sound easy. I think I'm the only one who had issue with it, as my dog is happier and healthier than she was before the procedure three weeks ago.

I LOVE Dr. Kirsten Steele! She is amazing!! I wish I had gotten my dog (German Shepherd with progressed Panis active disease) to her sooner!! The staff and her are awesome told us every possible thing to do with my dog and her disease and her treatment. Did meds for a month went back in for a checkup. I thought for an eye specialist their prices were reasonable. I have no issues with them I have a hard time believing some of the negative reviews on here just based on my experiences. I would recommend them to people whose animals have eye issues every time! Very knowledgeable and nice.

They charged for the initial visit in addition to the cost of the procedure. The procedure was not complete and had to be re-done. They charged me again for another visit to confirm it was done correctly. This business is a rip off !

Wish they were not all about the money and more about the care for an animal. Just spent 2,300.00 on an eye surgery and was not told the side effects that could happen after the surgery! I called Monday morning a week after surgery to get it looked at. I was told she was fine and it looked normal. They then proceeded to tell me that this is going to count as my post check up even though we were only there for 5-10 minutes and they didn’t check anything else. They also proceeded to tell me that there is going to be additional charges to see my dog again for more post check ups. Like I said if you want to throw your money into a place that doesn’t care about your animal and just their bank account, then this is this the place for you.

I took my cat to Eye Care for Animals. The vet couldn't biopsy the mysterious dark spot (possible melanoma) on his iris. After a $400 exam, she suggested that his eye be removed (a $900 procedure). It turned out to just be a burst capillary from hypertension. A little oral Amlodipine medication and he was fine and his eye cleared right up. Idiotic! Just stay away. I recommend VCA Feline Medical Center for cat care in Reno.

Best eye specialist! Had Rosie's cataracts removed and she is so much happier????

As the other review states, These people are all about the money. Their compassion is not with the animals, but with their bank account. If I had not brought my dog to these people, it would be alive today. For your pets sake, if there is some where else to take your pet, do it!

We were sent to Eye Clinic for Animals because our dogs' eye was swollen and irritated. They ran $250+ of Glaucoma tests, they ALL came back NEGATIVE, They sold us another $180 drops for our dogs eye and sent us home. Two weeks later, it wasn't much better, we took him back. Another $200, now he suddenly has full blown Glaucoma???? They suggest surgery to remove his eye $2000, they say it only gets worse and usually goes into the other eye??? We did not elect the surgery. We kept him on the drops at $200 a month for the next 6 months.....we start giving him less and less eye drops. Suddenly his eyes are clear, HE IS ALL BETTER......NO GLAUCOMA....NO EYE PROBLEMS AT ALL. Either he is a miracle dog or there is something fishy about the diagnosis and their practice of treating Glaucoma when it's clearly not the case. I will never go back and will never recommend Eye Clinic for Animals in Reno NV.
