I highly recommend The Pawington to any cat owner in the Bay Area looking for a place to board their cat. I had to travel for most of the last few months and after touring multiple places I decided to go here based on their great facility and friendly staff. After my cat Cosmo stayed there for week, I knew this would be my go-to place while I was out of town. Cosmo stayed there for a total of ~60 days and I'd say she is probably a VIP guest at this point lol. Yes the Pawington cat suites are quite expensive, but you definitely get what you pay for. The staff took great care of Cosmo and constantly sent me pictures and called me with updates. Cosmo loved the room, it was very spacious and had a 24/7 webcam that is good streaming quality. The front office was flexible when I needed to change plans or extend her stay. I am super thankful for The Pawington staff who spoiled my cat while I had to travel. Every staff member I interacted with here was top-notch.

They take care of our two cats when we go on vacation. Love that they upgraded their webcams! Service and correspondence over email are great!

Great doggie daycare! Our dog always comes home exhausted! A tired dog is a happy dog! Too tired to get into mischief!! They always let me know how she did that day.

We have used their boarding and day care in the past and it was okay for the most part. I’m not going to get into that experience in this review. We’ve never have our dog groomed but we thought he could use one. Since this will be his first time, we’re willing to pay for a decent place. We thought we could go to Pawington since we’re somewhat familiar with the place. We used their nail trim and file service before and we thought it was good. We talked to the groomer and told her what we wanted. She seemed to know what she does but unfortunately after getting our dog back, I don’t think she’s skilled/qualified to do her job. Our dog came back with a hair cut on his head near the ear that looks like an accident. His nails were cut too short that you can tell some of them were bleeding. Some nails were splintered and our dog whimpered when I tried to file them. We didn’t get to inspect him until we got home so we didn’t get to talk to them right away. We have emailed them and gave them the opportunity to respond and offer us an explanation or some form of apology but after a week still nothing. Side note: The groomer didn’t bring our dog out to us. It was one of the receptionists who took our dog and brought him out to us. And that receptionist was a little rude telling us that they’re not done because my dog doesn’t like the blow dryer. They called us and told us that he’s done so we went there right away to get him. And my dog is fine when I blow dry him at home.

Would have loved to try out their services but they don’t accept pitbull mixes due to their insurance policies not covering them. It’s a shame since we couldn’t even try out their “day stay program” which sounded great for our dog since he works better with humans but alas was never given the chance due to his breed.

I really want to give zero star if possible. My dog spent the weekend there. On Sunday morning 10 am, I checked play ground camera. My dog wasn’t there, but was kept in his suite. I was told all boarded dogs will be let into playground around 8 am. When I called to ask the staff take my dog out, the front desk staff asked me to wait until she dealt with the customer there. How long does it take for her to ask a colleague to do that? What else things they may forget to do? Then I asked her to tell the manager to call me, but never received a call from the manager. I have to call again. When I picked up my dog, the manager says if it’s not a good fit, I should take my business somewhere else. I guess it’s definitely not a good fit. Because they don’t really care about the pets there, only the cash I’m paying. After I picked up my dog, he vomited and lost all his energy and appetite. Guess that’s the revenge on my impatience with the manager. Reply: I was never told about the 1:1 play. If that’s the case, then why is my dog put back to the playgroup on Sunday after I saw he was locked in his suite without informing me of the situation. Also I was not even told about that when I pick him up. And the whole thing doesn’t make sense at all. That’s the temperament test for, which you requested before boarding, and the handler says my dog was doing pretty good. So either your required temperament test is terrible or you are trying to find excuse. Also that’s how your customer service work. I called to request to speak to someone during the day. No one called me back for the whole day. When I left a review online at 8 pm, got a reply within one hour. Interesting. Last, this is not the first time my dog went to a boarding place. He has been boarding with the other dog lounge for many times. Because I moved, I decided to try Pawington out, which clearly is a mistake.

I don't have to worry when my dog is here. I know he is being well taken care of and has so much fun while he plays with the other dogs. I hope one day the pawington will open a south bay location. ????

I wanted to say that my experience with The Pawington was nothing short of 5 stars. My cat can be very skittish about new people and places but even so the staff at The Pawington tried their best to make his stay one he would enjoy. One of their staff even spent his lunches sitting with my cat to try and make him feel safe. When at first my cat was not eating, a very common occurrence when he is in a new place, they called me multiple times a day to give me updates and seek ways to help him feel more comfortable and eat. They followed every request and made every attempt to make sure he got the best experience possible. I would 100% come back to The Pawington and can say I would recommend them to any of my friends with Cats or Dogs.

stay. We were able to bring 2 of our dogs at the same time, which was ideal because they are more confident together. After our temperament test, we're sure we won't be back. Upon arrival, 2 staff came out to greet us. They asked the basic standard questions about our dogs. We notified them that our older dog likes to chase small dogs to try to herd them, and she's weary of strangers. Our youngest pup does best with her sister, otherwise, she gets anxious. We told them that otherwise, our girls are very active, socialized and frequent dog parks with no issues. We were also assured that they wouldn't be separated unless they were eating or needed a break. They both rushed through the door and didn't look back. This is typical. They love the park, the vet, and anywhere with other dogs. The staff were surprised how excited they were to leave us, and said they "probably won't have any problem since they went right in". We had to wait in the car because no one is allowed during covid. As soon as we got in the car, we decided to check out the cameras to see how they were doing. When we turned on the camera, we saw our older girl. She was poking around, but not really interacting with other dogs. We couldn't see her younger sister. We saw her sniff around and then we witnessed a staff member go for her, grab her collar, and drag her (while her legs were planted) to another gated area. We were totally turned off, especially because we mentioned that she was weary of strangers and needed time to warm up. Her recall is good. They couldn't call her? My heart hurt a little after seeing that. Then, we see younger pup enter. On leash. Staff led her around on leash. Anyone familiar with dog behavior knows that this can cause frustration for the dog on leash. They take the leash off, and our poor pup is seen pacing around the room looking for her sissy. Heartbroken again. We asked them to keep them together. Then they let them in together. They play with each other. No staff interacts with them, or any of the other dogs, and none of the other dogs are playing. They seemed so bored, lost, and confused. We then get a phone call saying they're ready. I go to the door to collect them. My partner stays in the car, still watching the camera. They drag our stranger-anxious girl by the collar again, after she tries to run when they go after her to grab her collar. This has to be a thing they do. We're pretty convinced by this point that they're not coming here, but then... I collect the girls who are happy to see me. The staff person tells me that younger pup is "aggressive" because she snapped at other dogs (trying to herd them). She's NEVER done this. Then, they said that older dog is "anxious" and needed a "time out" because she was anxious. Fine, we understand that. However, if we told you not to separate them because they're anxious in new environments with strangers and we said she's weary of strangers, why would you do the complete opposite? And then grab an anxious dog's collar?! Despite their not so shining reports, they said they were welcome to come because they did fine together. Isn't that what we said? Maybe we're used to places who have staff who clearly love dogs, interact with them, and who help dogs feel comfortable in new environments. The staff here do not have experience with herding breeds, at least from what we witnessed. I felt it was important to share our experience for all other pet parents. This all happened in 20 minutes.

The staff of The Pawington are first-rate. They always take great care of my pooch. I spend most of my day and night with my dog, so leaving him somewhere when I go for vacation is always anxiety-inducing. However, I have had nothing but great experiences here! Highly recommend!

This is the best place to have your dog stay! Just had the first day of leaving my 3 1/2 yr. dog Smokey here. They took good care of him and staff here are all really nice. Also an extra bonus they provide, is having a live webcam setup; so I was able to see what he was up whenever I wanted. So far, so GREAT! I’m very happy I found this place.

Yesterday we had the pleasure of meeting the staff of the Pawington when dropping off our two dogs for an evaluation and day care stay. As a new mom and a fur mom of two wonderful pups I am worried constantly about the well being of our little family. The staff of the Pawington reassured me one hundred times over that they were in good hands and they certainly were. The staff is professional, kind and understanding of each clients needs and or concerns. It has been some time since my dogs have been in a kennel and they had a great time while under the care and supervision of this amazing staff. Thank you all for making this new adventure a less stressful one.

Update: the construction is done (thank you very much cuz that was ridiculous!). Anyways, I continue to love this place and it’s my go to for my fur babies. They are adding more boarding rooms since it’s becoming more and more difficult to book a room during the holidays.

I have been taking my 4 yr old French Bulldog to The Pawington for over 3 years for daycare and boarding. The staff, facility and activities are exceptional. My pet loves it here. The staff is very attentive and will call if there is anything the owner needs to know about their pet. When boarding, you leave your pet with a feeling of trust.

I've heard stories of neglect and injury from a co-worker (at a different dog day care facility) who only worked at The Pawington for about three weeks because she was so disappointed in how they care for (or fail to care for) some of the animals there. Specifically, there was a hole in a fence just big enough for an anxious dog to stick his snout into. He did it for so long, it caused an abrasion. That hole shouldn't even exist. Take a look at their replies to the negative reviews. They are very unprofessional and typically accuse people of lying about their experiences. I won't recommend the company I work for because I think this is an inappropriate place to advertise I encourage anyone who has a pet with special needs, or who needs daycare because of separation anxiety to look elsewhere for daycare/boarding.

The safeguard precautions taken are very good so we feel safe bringing our dog. Would be nice to have a report of how his first visit went.

I have boarded my dog here 4X. I can leave her with the peace of mind that she will be well cared for by a professional staff. The staff followed my feeding and medicine directions.

I have been going to Pawington for years, for both grooming and boarding. I trust them with my baby, which is a lot. He always comes back happy and beautiful. Their prices are very reasonable for both boarding AND grooming. They also have the most professional and sweet staff. I love watching the dogs in webcams and I am very jealous of the people who walk through and take care of our dogs all day. They are the best!

The staff are very polite and professional in their interaction with me. During the shutdown, it is difficult for everyone, but they certainly made life a little bit easier.

My dog is well cared for & very clean, friendly & safe environment for him. No other boarding facility like it in the Bay Area.

My dog loves The Pawington. Lake play is her favorite activity and even after boarding there for a week, she will want to go right back the next day. Their standards of supervision of the dogs is also excellent. I happened to be watching the pup cam one day when an altercation seemed to break out. There was only one human in the area, but many showed up seemingly out of nowhere. They broke up the altercation in less than three seconds (five at most) and removed the problem dog immediately. Then everything was calm again. That confirmed to me that my dog was safe there. I will suggest, that if you want to board your dog, that you first get your dog used to the facility by having them spend time there over multiple days. And, if you’re planning on a long trip, have your dog spend a night or weekend there before you go on the big one. You’ll find out that your dog is loving their time at the Pawington or are horribly upset at being away from you overnight or something in between. This way you’ll be able to figure out ways to help make your pup’s stay as pleasant as possible so you don’t have to worry more than necessary about them.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I 100% RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE, whether it be an overnight stay, daycare, or longer boarding. My family moved from the east coast to Hawaii via the Army and it was hard enough doing the move with just our belongings, trying to get my little girl Lily (2 year old husky/lab) here was another obstacle in itself. The requirements Hawaii has is one thing to even let my pup come to the island and then flying her here and figuring out how she would be handled during her layover was just so overwhelming. Annette and Louis (one of the owners) were wonderful to work with. From the first time I called in to after Lily had left and landed in Hawaii they were attentive, communicative, professional, and overall helpful! My pup was tended to during this stressful travel situation and cared for and treated with love during her stay. Even with my specific needs, Louis went above and beyond in assisting me and putting my mind at ease by texting me pictures of my pup! On the back end, Annette handled all the necessary paperwork/ payments/ planning/ reservations/ communication/ etc. They made this traveling experience for my dog as well as myself as easy as possible and I can't thank them enough!

Very clean and professional place! We took my dog Bandit for a full grooming and cut and he came back happy, fresh and smelling great. My only gripe is I asked for a specific style/cut for his face. I even left an old photo of him for reference but he came back with a standard yorkie cut. When he is ready for his next cut I will give them another try because it is a convenient location and a good facility.
