We love Dr. Shane Sheets and staff. They really care about your animals. Our Labrador puppy and senior chihuahua mix have gone through the works this year. Dr sheets really gets down to the bottom and investigates issues. He doesn’t pressure you to do a bunch of tests unless he thinks it’s absolutely necessary depending on the severity of what’s going on with your pet. He provides a lot of context which is very helpful. We’re really happy with Alpine Animal hospital ????

Best Animal Drs in town. They are Great with Oliver and Cookie. And Cookie is a 10 lb maniac. Hahaha

The staff took great care of our husky when she suddenly had a seizure while we were in the area on vacation. They got her in quickly and we felt like we were leaving her in great hands. She can be a handful, and we are so grateful to the staff for dealing with our anxious girl to take blood samples and X-rays. Prices were more reasonable than I expected for an emergency visit.

Marlowe would rate is as one star (thermometer up the butt), but the vet was really good with him and helped him out with his irritated eye issue. Really happy to have such a nice animal hospital local.

They were so kind and helpful during the illness and passing of my sweet Doggo. The paw print and box of remains are so beautiful and desperately appreciated. During a really sad time they handled everything for me in an extremely compassionate way. The photo attached is of the paw print they provided me, resting on my other dog, who is actually the deceased doggo’s baby ????

Always great, not too expensive, and they never recommend a litany of tests and treatments that aren't really needed (unlike my last vet who did blood tests for EVERY tiny thing). I highly recommend!

I went to this hospital when my cat was having issues breathing. The entirety of the staff were so supportive, and made sure my cat and myself were in good hands. The doctor was so understanding and straightforward. That visit ended in tragedy, but everyone I interacted with was so kind and empathetic. I will be taking all of my other babies to them. Thank you, Alpine, for everything you do.

Im so grateful for the staff at Alpine, and can't thank them enough for the amazing care they provided me and my cat in his final moments. I just moved to SLT and the move was more than my elderly cat could handle. They rushed us in and dropped everything to make sure he didn't have to suffer any longer and helped us both through a terrible time. These awesome professionals truly care and I'm so fortunate to have sent my buddy out with such love. Thank you so much!

My dog has a problem with breaking nails and I take him to alpine. He broke one this morning and of course I had a wedding this afternoon. They got me in quick and took care of his nail so I could still make the wedding. They have always been great and work in people with emergencies. Big thank you to the vets and the staff.

Monday mornings are very busy and the phones will be ringing so keep trying. I was able to get my dog’s nails trimmed. We were in and out quickly.

The entire staff was fabulous! I highly recommend this Hospital. We were visiting from out of town when our Chocolate Lab got into a tussle with two Rots. Her ear was scrapped down to the cartilage. The doctor was very caring and took amazing care of her. They are reasonably priced as well.

Bit of an overdue review: I've been here three times now and each time I had a great experience. But the most recent one definitely convinced me of the exceptional level of kindness, compassion, professionalism, and empathy that the folks who work here have. Kitty had a dental procedure at a different place at a specialist in Reno and did not recover well. I called up Alpine Animal Hospital and they gave me an appointment pretty much immediately. Needless to say I was a mess and crying because I was sure it was my kitty's last day. The doc and b=nurse were all so kind! The doc who saw her did an excellent job - checked out the kitty, identified why she didnt recover well from the dental, put kitty on fluids, gave antibiotics and pain killers and sent us home with special diet and meds. few hours after our visit, kitty had changed completely, even eating some food. Every day she became better and better, and returned to her normal "let me play in the yard" self. I am extremely grateful for the help we received here and the outstanding level of service.

Darn lucky the vets are so amazing, because the office people are ridiculous. I have been a patient for years and have an injured puppy. The vet is full and making room for him (which I appreciate) however the woman who called was a nightmare (Cindy, I believe). After informing me of all of the fees (emergency charge etc.) and making me feel like I couldn't afford it, I told her I had a meeting and would be there as soon as it ended. Then I got a lecture about their emergency scheduling to which I chuckled and said it was about they get their extra fees (which honestly after nearly a decade of being a customer seems a little sad to get hit with when we are dealing with the stress of an injured dog, but trust me, we can afford it). Then I got another lecture on their staff working through lunch. Feels great to know there is care and concern for my dog. To be clear, the vets are great! I do wonder if they know how the office workers are treating loyal customers ... posting only out of the hope someone looks into it. Not cool.

Poor service, couldn't see us for week's.

These people are the worst they will not give my dog his medication he has food allergies and they keep getting money out of me every single time they bring them in.The food allergies never change they are the same however these people keep taking my money and not giving my dog his correct medication they are the worst they just want money they are hungry for money and not giving proper care worst people ever don’t go there

The entire team is outstanding! We needed help for our beagle while on vacation. They provided wonderful care and boarding. Our beagle is now doing great. Highly recommend these people!!

We are in South lake tahoe on vacation and our dog became ill. Despite it being a very busy holiday weekend they got us in almost immediately. The vet and techs were all incredible. The vet is hands down the best vet we have ever seen. He answered all of our questions, went over all of our possible options and costs, and was just very pleasant and warm with our dog. The visit was so affordable which was both a relief and a surprise. I would recommend this vet and clinic to anyone in the area. Max the dog also approves and he usually hates the vet!

They were very kind to our puppy for his annual visit, but still had to wait outside to observe social distancing.

Alpine always takes good care of my dogs and treats them with love and kindness. My dogs seriously love going to this vet, they always get excited when we arrive and are calm and patient during their visits.

We trust Alpine Animal Hospital, and when our dear pet cat was very ill, they made the time for us, so that he could be put to sleep, as he was clearly in a lot of pain and we couldn't help. Their kindness and love helped very much, and eased our sorrow.

Terrific staff that takes great care of our pups. Highly recommend.

Great vet clinic. Dr Szumel is fear free if you have a nervous pet, and she does her best to make them as comfortable during the exam as possible.

Good in a pinch not my favorite vet they are not open after 5:00 or for emergencies on the weekends Carson valley animal hospital is the only one

They were very nice here. Our dog got fixed and they were so great. Even called just to ask how he was they were very friendly.

Dr. Sheets was great! Extremely thorough and good at giving options so that you can tailor your pets needs to what is comfortable for you. The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially with all the covid restrictions. I glad we have Dr. Sheets and team to take care of our doggies!
