My family has been taking pets to Dr. Novy and Valley Vet for over twenty years. Everyone at Valley Vet is very friendly, and you can tell that they love the animals they work with. I always seem to spend a bunch of money when I bring in my cats, but I feel like it's worth it because I know Valley Vet is being thorough in caring for them. More importantly, Valley Vet is super low pressure and non-judgmental. They recommend some procedures, but I never feel pressured into doing anything that isn't absolutely necessary for my pets' health. In the past, some of our pets have gone several years between vet visits, to the point that I felt embarrassed bringing them back in after so long, but Dr. Novy and his staff didn't even blink at me funny. Now we're on a strict annual visit schedule because I feel so comfortable with them. Some other reviews talk about emergencies; in my experience, the response from Valley Vet has been mixed. I've had one instance where I was able to bring a pet in right away, and another instance where I was told they had no availability. However, in the second situation I called again the next day right before they closed to ask for advice and the staff and a doctor stayed late and told us to come right in. Both of these occurred around ten years ago, but Valley Vet would be my first call if I had a pet emergency today. Even if they couldn't see us, I would trust them to recommend an emergency clinic. We have had to bring two pets to Valley Vet to be put down after serious illness. The staff is caring, compassionate, and completely accommodating during the whole process. I am leaving this review now because I am moving out of state, so my cats and I will have to find a new vet in our new home. I hope I can find someplace where we feel as comfortable as we felt at Valley Vet. A brief non sequitur: I love the Valley Veterinary office. The whole outside is covered in ivy, and the waiting room is separated into two rooms, one for dogs and one for cats. The cat room has had the same poster hanging above the seating area since I was a child, and I enjoy a little blast from the past every time I see it.

Best vet office!!! Been coming to see Dr Novy for nearly 30 years. I drive over 60 miles to see him too!!! Well, until recently when I moved to Northern Nevada. And guess what? I still scheduled a visit during a week long trip to So Cal. I wish I could pack him up and take him with me.

Horrible experience. Was sent away with my dog in pain! They did not check us in properly and when called back 20 mins later was told we missed our apt. Spoke to Dawn and I begged that my dog was in pain and I was there on time, please help. But got a rude response and told the vet was too busy. I asked to speak to manager or vet and was told none was available, was put on hold, and left there. When I called back to explain the situation was not even given an apology. I'm not one to do these reviews, but feel you should be aware, would hate for this to happen to your pet :)

This is a great place! They are very careful with your animals and get their job done quickly but effectively.

My family has had four dogs, we've never considered any one else. My personal favorite is Dr Novy himself, but i don't get to see him very often. I believe he's mostly retired.

Turns out my mom and her parents used to take their family pets to Novy's office shortly after he opened for business, and we've been going there ever since. I now I take my own dogs there. Dr. Novy is a wonderful man and the staff are friendly and kind. They run an honest and compassionate business, couldn't be happier with their service.

My dogs went here for years. One of them had a bad medication experience, but overall I thought they understood my animals well until they died 2 years ago. When I went to take my new rescue puppy in, I was told they are not accepting anyone who was not actively engaged with them right now, so I really can't recommend. I would have been happy to go a few weeks out to get her checked

Very pleasant separate entrances for cats and dogs. Doesn't smell like medicine, that can scare furry friends. Staff is super friendly and gentle with the animals.
