Great place nice people. I adopted 2 cats in early December who are now my best friends. Wish i could take them all. Very affectionate, healthy and great company.

Poor customer service. I turned in an adoption application and was told I would get a call back with update on my application. I called back for an update and they told me they hadn’t reviewed my application. I waited more than a week and still haven’t received a call to adopt the pet I wanted.

Try living next door to this place it is ridiculous they bring dogs in at all hours of the night I have video of them at 3:00 a.m. in the morning at one time Man y years ago I also have video of dogs being left out in the yard which is against the lease agreement with the city our city council lied to us when they moved this into our neighborhood and said it would be only there for a limited time it has been there for several years we put up with a lot of noise and a lot of their trash in our yards medical waste and everything else they leave dogs out in the yard overnight which they are not supposed to do but our great city council lies to their people and does an unservice to our neighborhood thanks for nothing and a dog kennel should be out side of the city limits not inside inside a neighborhood I am not against saving these animals they deserve it but they deserve to be able to have a place out in Rome in the grass and the dirt

The staff, to a man and woman were the most courteous, helpful, and knowledgeable. After dealing with Camarillo for a month my wife and l in less than an hour had our new family member at our home. Thank you so much for enhancing our lives. !!!!!!

Adoption inquiries are by appointment only, but SPARC never answers emails, phone calls, or adoption requests through Petango. I have inquired about several dogs over the past few years, and have yet to receive a response. I can only imagine how many adoptions don't happen due to a complete lack of communication.

Very disappointing experience. The front desk attendant was unhelpful, antagonistic & sour. The manager lied & hanged up on my buddy & I as well when we were just trying to secure a safe place for a nice dogger in which we could be assured they wouldn’t be killed until adoption. This left such a bitter taste in my mouth. Sad to say.

I adopted my new pup from this rescue. I was happy with their process from meet and greet to adoption. Their adoption rates are very fair too. SPARC provided helpful resources for getting my pup settled in after adoption and have been helpful over the phone for any questions as well.

I love this place the staff is so friendly and helpful, I adopted my dog Maggie from here and I had an amazing experience. I took my daughters with me and the staff took the time to take 2 dog that we where interested in for walk they made sure my daughters where able to walk the dogs as well. The staff definitely when far and beyond to help us find the right dog for us. And now we have the perfect dog!

This place has been there for me for a long time now. They've helped me get my cat spayed and vaccinated when I first got her back when I was broke as could be, and they've taken in at least four strays and orphaned kittens that I've found since then. They do an excellent job of serving their communities and providing the animals in their care with personal care and affection. If you want a pet this is a really good place to get one.

These people are true saints among us. They are a loving no-kill shelter that does truly amazing things for pets and people. One visit and you will have your faith in the world restored. They volunteer and rely on donations so please help them out in any way you are able. Big hearts at SPARC.

Ajay the girl I spoke with was wonderful. They are kind, knowledgeable and treat people with respect and kindness and so help - all very unusual for a shelter. They really seem to care about the animals and have a heart to do what is right and go above and beyond. I pray for their greatest success and they are a real blessing to the animals and the people of their community. Truthfully they could teach many other organization how to provide animal welfare, care and control and it would be a far less grim reality than it is. God bless them all at Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center

I highly recomend this shelter. The staff is very friendly, and helpful. I had gotten a rescue dog from an other animal shelter and after having him 3 months found that it wasn't a good match. I asked them if they could help me find a good home for him. I didn't want to take him back to another shelter and they said they would help. Less than a week later they found him a great family to move in with. They told us how to do all the paper work and make the change of ownership fast and simple at no cost. I will donate to them whenever I can. It's a great place for rescued animals.

The shelter and the people who run it are wonderful. Kathy the "kitten coordinator" and the friendly woman who is at the front desk were so helpful and accommodating. I adopted a very sweet and friendly kitten. The descriptions of the animals are spot on and helped me in determining which cat to pick. I highly recommend this shelter if you are looking for a pet.

One of the worst experiences I have had at an animal shelter. Nice people but they lie. Also, you can’t walk around and see the animals. They have to bring them out for you to see them. My family and I thought it was a good idea to see a dog.. his name was Teddy Bear. And they said he was very shy and not so good around people because of his past owners that have mistreated him. So, we decided for one of the people that were helping us take a walk with him and they just nonstop talked and talked. Also, a thing they never said was the dog is aggressive. So.. when my brother and my boyfriend tried to reach down to let him sniff they’re hands, the dog growled and tried to bite their hands off.
