These people care at the highest level I've seen. They even rotate out the music daily for the pets to have a variety, as well as treats and games. These pets are soooo well loved and cared for.

If you like a lot of regulations, rules, hoop jumping and check boxes, then this *IS YOUR PLACE* to adopt an animal!

I visited many different shelters looking to adopt a cat. Santa Cruz SPCA's facility was amazing! The building was very clean and the animals were not crowded. The cats looked well taken care of and brushed (you'd be surprised on how many cats I've petted and hair was just flying everywhere at other shelters and rescues). Although I did not ultimately adopt from this shelter, if I were to adopt again in the future, this would be one of the first places on the list.

We needed help finding help for poisoned pets in our neighborhood, they had the answers and the people we needed to contact. Very helpful and friendly.

Oh my gosh! These people are amazing. I most recently helped out a home insecure couple who took on caring for some kittens. They wanted to get them to a rescue, but none were responding. So, I suggested taking them straight here, and even gave the kitties a ride. The Santa Cruz SPCA not only took them in, but called me to let me know they were going to a clinic for ringworm and let me know of my possible exposure! I was able to warn the couple and reassure them the kittens were safe. Thank you!

A beautiful new building, happy animals, and friendly, helpful staff and volunteers made our family visit to read books to the animals a great experience.

The SPCA does a great job with animals that are between homes or are unwanted. I plan on adopting a cat there soon. I was really happy to see them out fundraising in the Whole Foods parking lot. They said a lot of animals are being dropped off because now owners are going back to the workplace

My friend is very poor and I took her there so she could get some dog food for her dog and they were very very generous and polite to her. She was in tears when she came back to the car. They seem like very compassionate people

Awesome tiny place, I'm glad they are building a new home because their working places are literally surrounded by cages. We were happy to find out they accept pet food in open packages (before expiration date) - our cat became very picky and we ended up with open bags of kibble she didn't want to eat. I hope SPCA kitties liked it.

I adopted the SWEETEST little dog from the SPCA summer of 2019. She was 7lbs then now shes almost 12lbs. She was a stray found in a field in BAKERSFIELD. I'm so in love with this little bundle of pure LOVE. Shes a Yorkie mix- BLONDE like me and a good companion for my Daschund mix. They play until exhausted. Sooo GRATEFUL for the good work of the SPCA. LOOKING FORWARD to the new SPCA The old home is way too small.

EXPENSIVE to adopt--go to a city shelter instead!--and they require a ton of paperwork and you can't adopt until they spend at least a day thinking about it. Very odd.

This is a great place with an awesome mission. We got the perfect addition to our family and our lives are so much more fulfilling now. This sweet girl went through spca TWICE but she now has her forever home. So grateful for their no kill policy and giving her the time she needed to find her home.

We adopted the sweetest little girl puppy, Netflix. She has brought us so much joy!! I love their mall location. It really has the best prices for pet products. All the volunteers there are always so friendly. I'm so happy for our new family member and will be returning frequently to buy her some toys!!

This place really cares well for the animals..I sure wish they would start their new building..the animals need a bigger better space. They make due with so little.

These people are angels. The animals are obviously well cared for and given individual love and attention. We loved the experience of adapting or dog.

The people here are very nice and knowledgeable about the dogs. They were more than glad to help us. Their current building is small and can feel cramped, but once they move into their new building that will not be an issue. They have all of the animals listed online too, just an FYI

The people here are very helpful. It's a great place to go if you're looking for a small dog but they don't really have big dogs because they're limited on space. All of the dogs looked healthy and well taken care of.
