Dr Hoban takes the time to really talk to you about your pets, and your options for helping them. She also saved my cats' eyesight and did a great surgery on removing my small dog's tumors. I definitely recommend Dr Hoban!

I've always had a very positive experience at Harbor Vet with the veterinarians and front desk staff! Dr. Wells is a wonderful intelligent vet who really cares about her patients. When my dog has been sick, she gets back to me promptly and fits us into the schedule. I started going here when I saw good reviews on Google and I'm so glad I did, highly recommend.

We Love Dr. Hoban and the Staff!!!

First, the nice vet techs deserve some kudos, good suggestions re food and GI pills The VET: she’s a piece if work!! 1.5 hour wait. We adopted an amazing dog from rescue. We were shocked by how awful Dr. Hoban was with our dog; all business, no connection, no patience, no kindness, all grumpy, and she complained that our dog was” big, he’s big “ no follow through at the end of the appt. No professionalism . Does she dislike big dogs?? Did she know his name??? Big Dog owners, stay away

This is the best veterinary clinic I have ever been to. My cats have both had advanced kidney disease requiring multiple medications and treatments. Dr. Hoban has been amazing to work with. She is extremely good at explaining complex issues in an understandable way. I highly recommend this practice.

We have just had our first visit to Harbor Vet and we're impressed with Dr. Wells and the attention and care given our senior pooch by the entire team. We will continue with them.

Such a great place ????

Dr. Hoban has been caring for my beloved cat-companions for 24 years and I can hardly find the words to express my gratitude and appreciation for her and her entire staff. My current cat is a "frequent flyer" who has regular episodes of mysterious illnesses, and I am an overprotective-cat mother; I frequently call in a panic and need to be talked down as I decide how to respond to her latest episode of barfing and drooling. The staff is incredibly kind and patient with me, and Dr. Hoban always gets back to me by phone to talk through options with her directly. When I bring my kitty in, everyone handles her very sweetly and gently (they tell me she's the best kitty in the world, but I suspect they tell everyone that), and Dr. Hoban always takes time to explain possible diagnoses and treatment options. Dr. Hoban is smart as a whip and loves a good puzzle, so when something is going on that she can't diagnose right away, she researches it and gets back to me with an explanation. During the pandemic, I've been even more impressed and more deeply appreciative of Dr. Hoban and her entire staff. They have developed impeccable protocols for seeing animals without exposing pet owners (or themselves); you can call from outside and they'll come retrieve your animal from the car, or you can go in a treatment room where they have worked out logistics so that you're never in the same room with the vet or techs, yet can talk to them while they're in the adjacent hallway. I've been strictly quarantined for months as I care for my elderly mother, and I felt safe being in the office. This Spring my kitty had two of her usually annual GI episodes while I was going back and forth to Marin to care for my mom. The first episode yielded lab tests that required an internist, and Dr. Hoban referred me to a vet specialist in Marin who was every bit as wonderful as she is, if that is possible. That vet diagnosed my cat's condition (right in line with the three possible diagnoses Dr. Hoban had outlined) and over the next three months I was able to bring my cat to whichever vet I needed depending on which town I was in and they shared lab results. And today Dr. Hoban's staff took extra time to demonstrate how I could administer fluids to my cat instead of taking her to the cat ER the next time she crashes. Dr. Hoban and her staff made a video of themselves administering fluids to a cat they were treating, shared it with me, then did a demo on a towel, and sent me home with supplies to use on my own. All of this, and they only charged me for a regular office visit and supplies. I'm sorry that Ms. Close in the review below had a difficult experience with her dog, but can only imagine it was a day when Dr. Hoban was responding to myriad emergencies while operating under pandemic safety protocols. Pure and simple, Dr. Hoban is an amazing vet, incredibly good with animals and and people alike, who gives her all and then some to compassionately support animals and their people in our community. (She does great community service with kids and horses, too.)

Dr Kawano and all the folks who work at Harbor Vet are a pleasure to work with - responsive, friendly, and efficient. 5 stars, no question.

Dr. Hoban really knows her stuff. Been at it for 30 plus years, I believe. I could easily add excellent comments for other 2 vets who have taken care of my “ babies” over the years however, one recently moved and the other had the nerve to retire. Humph. My 12 year old bichon mix was somewhat agitated when she realized they had left the practice without consulting her but we talked about it and she eventually came to understand that it wasn’t personal.

Awesome people this place is truly amazing

We have used Dr. Hoban for all our animals for many, many years. There are other vet practices with "lower prices" I suppose, but it's hard to imagine anyone out there cares for their patients (and associated humans) with more honesty, integrity, and heart. We certainly never found them before we discovered Harbor Veterinary Hospital.

Dr Kawano is the best vet ever!!
