made our family complete and are so grateful to Muttmatch for helping us add Emma the Sheepdog to our family. Going to a shelter where you know the animals are the priority and that the owner makes sure the match is a perfect fit made such a difference.

This organization should be shut down. Sheila is hoarding dogs in makeshift kennels in her backyard and treats them very roughly. Had the displeasure of visiting to pick up lovely Bosco, who was a precious dog & ended up being a violent biter towards all men in our home; we had to give him back & were met with VICIOUS behavior from Sheila, telling us the dog’s behavior was our own fault & that we should never be pet owners, while she keeps fifty dogs in her tiny run down yard in the middle of the high desert. Do not waste your time, unless you are someone truly looking to shut down this organization to get these dogs a better life!! They desperately need to be rehoused. She should be removed from her position for the way she hoards them & treats them, as well as how she treats those interested in adopting.

We recently adopted a beautiful dog from Mutt Match LA. We’ve never adopted via a rescue before. We’ve always gone to the pound. We will definitely recommend adopting from Mutt Match instead. We applied, once we were contacted, we made an appointment to visit the animal we were interested in. The owner was prompt, professional, knowledgeable and kind. We had to have a home check which is great. After a few recommendations and upgrades to our yard, the application was approved and our new family member arrived and is now thriving in her new environment. The animal is healthy, happy and a great dog who gets along with our other animals. We highly recommend Mutt Match LA for your future family member. A very nice experience.

Sheila is unbelievably unprofessional & disrespectful, it was such a strange experience. We went through a couple weeks of the process, started with a meet and greet one day, then the home check the following week, understood...she was about 2 1/2 hours late to the home check. After the home check she decided it would only be a 2 week trial with the dog, I wasn't a fan of that. Otherwise we would sign up to be a foster, right? The process was completely on her terms with strings attached, and all she did was talk down to us. We ended the process with an argument over the phone because I asked her to stop talking to me that way. The argument went on, and I backed out of the adoption(or whatever it was) I would still recommend this rescue to save the dogs obviously, if you can deal with Sheila...hats off to you. You'll see, she'll probably argue against this review as well. I hope the dogs find forever homes and I hope Sheila comes across a good hard life lesson about being a kind human being.

WONDERFUL DOG RESCUE!!! The mission is to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome as many dogs as possible. It is sacred and challenging work. Sheilah has been fighting this good fight on her own in the desert for two decades. Every day she is a warrior fighting for the lives of at least 50 dogs. She even homes dogs that are deemed unadoptable for behavioral reasons. Sheilah's heart is enormous and the work this dog rescue does is immeasurably important. Adoption is a slow process, but completely worth the wait. Please be patient. Sheilah aims to create the right match. She's a real yenta when it comes to dogs and people. Here are the awesome, hilarious dogs we adopted this year.

The owner is unbelievably rude. They scheduled myself and another person to meet a dog up for adoption at the same time. It was extremely unprofessional and awkward, and my daughter ended up heartbroken after meeting the dog and falling in love when the first person to meet him already applied. The owner was not helpful at all, and was rude and condescending even when she was trying to correct the situation by showing us another dog. Please give any other rescue your time and money.

The women I talked to was incredibly rude and condescending. No help what so ever. I wasn’t even able to explained my dogs behavior so we could find him an appropriate home. Very disappointed!

One of the best, most experienced, hard working, and dedicated rescue organizations out there. Mutt Match LA cares deeply for their dogs and diligently works to ensure these future family members are placed with the right fit. Their vast knowledge is invaluable. You are making a commitment when you sign up to care for a dog and should be expected (and required) to be a capable, responsible pet parent.
