Review for rabbit choking issue with Dr. Littlehale Dr. Littlehale demonstrated a complete lack of understanding and refused to acknowledge facts presented to show that our rabbit was indeed choking, citing his own lack of previous experience as the only reason for not even recognizing what is an obvious issue. We brought our rabbit who had been choking multiple times to see if Dr. Littlehale could provide a diagnosis. He said he doubted our rabbit was choking because "he had never seen a rabbit choke" in his career. Anyone with access to Google will find a plethora of such instances. We were amazed at his reply. He said it was more likely a seizure. We showed him video clips of our rabbit visibly choking while eating. We mentioned it never occurs while he is not eating. He maintained it was a seizure "because seizures could take many forms." Since then, we have seen a number of other vets--ALL of whom believe it is choking (it's as obvious as the sun). Not to mention, Dr. Littlehale condescends and speaks rudely. He cut us off as we were explaining the situation. When we mentioned "choking," he interrupted us mid-sentence and said, "how do you know it's choking? I've never seen a rabbit choke in all my career." We were honestly caught off guard by his ignorant question. He also said our rabbit was "fat"--granted, it was a bit of a joke but still a coarse and insensitive choice of words. Yet no other vet we have seen has said our rabbit has had any weight issues. I'm sure Dr. Littlehale has a length of experience working with rabbits and other animals, but it seems his reliance on his own past observations has led to an ego, blinding him from accepting new information as it is presented to him.

Helpful and friendly and my dog liked them well enough Able to get up to date on vaccinations and prevention medicines. Fairly affordable for the area. Doctor was well versed and staff were friendly. Taking new patients and overall just a positive experience and will be back!

I took my guinea pig to Dr.Littlehale for his tumor removal surgery. I was very happy with his transparent and prompt communication throughout the consultation process, and most importantly, my piggy is recovering well post surgery If anyone is looking for a reliable vet, I'd highly recommend this place!

Took my Chinchilla here to have an issue checked and the vet prescribed us an antibiotic that worked perfectly. My chin has regained his apetite and is coming back to a healthy weight. The only reason I rate 4 stars is because the vet didn't seem very personable/friendly. The rest of the staff; however, were very nice.

Unreasonably high prices! 2-3 times higher than other nearby pet care clinics. When I inquired why. Private practice and experience was the reason. I received exactly the same response from other more ethically priced Pet care clinics.

These people were very caring from phone calls to the in person contact and treatment. They were timely and expert. We were very worried about our senior chinchilla but Dr. Kent Littlehale had great reviews so we traveled an hour to have Despereaux seen. We are relieved.

Good care for pets, although I wish their $85 pet diagnostic lasts more than 5 mintues or maybe they could share some more details on pet's health.

I initially called, I was asking for an appointment. They didn't have anything immediate. I mentioned it was to get care for my cat that was injured. Without hesitation they said bring him in. They were friendly, fast, efficient. I will be bringing my cats back here

took my Avian pet here, due to the fact no place else will have a vet who specializes in exotic pets/birds. Bird was increasingly getting worse, and each time we would pay a visit, they would come up with a new “theory” of what was wrong with the bird. Didn’t seem to actually examine pet either, but I don’t know this for sure because they don’t let you inside due to covid. Not very reliable if your coming in for an avian pet, I repeat, NOT reliable for an AVIAN PET/BIRD. Possible could be for common pets like dogs and cats, but do yourself a favor and don’t pay them a visit if you have an exotic pet or avian

First time, brought my sons guinea pigs for a nail trimming. Booking an appointment was fast, next day service. Safe, they follow the pandemic protocol. They care for our pets.

Dr Lilttlehale has been helping us with our parakeet's chronic condition that leads to beak overgrowth. His recommendations for changes in diet are helping a lot already. Also, we have been very satisfied with beak trimming every single time. Happy to have such an expert bird vet close by! Also, COVID protocol is very good and staff is super nice.

It's not easy to find a vet for my guinea pig in bay area. I called about 10 hospitals and finally I could make an appointment on Nov 2020 with Santa Clara Pet Hospital. They accept guinea pig and can do onsite surgery. I was worried about my Coco for a big "cyst" or "tumor" on his lower back. Dr. Littlehale diagnosed Coco and told me it was a cyst. It could be left just like that, but I still decided to ask for a surgery since Coco sometimes bit on it. I asked him many questions about the risk of the surgery and he always answered me clearly and patiently. The surgery fee is reasonable according to my research (The cost for guinea pig is usually higher than cat and dog) Dr. Littlehale is very professional with guinea pig I could tell. He updated me about Coco's recovery on the surgery day and did another phone call check the next day --very responsible. Now Coco is recovering very well! A happy guinea pig again! Also, the other staff are friendly and responsive too! Like Rachel, Julie and Lauren! Round applause for their hard work during the special time!

Long time customer, cant say it's worth it "Friendly" staff does not compensate for the over priced visits, medications, long wait times (with "appointments") and lack of medical transparency. Not the first time I've experienced a "misunderstanding" with medical services provided. I'd gladly drive further to a vet that has the resources, assistance and expertise needed to help heal and protect my pet.

Dr and staff are very polite and friendly. Very professional and caring. Great work done on my pet. Person answering phone was rude and not very helpful. Didn't want to answer my questions.

Had a very awful experience yesterday. Avoid Kent Littlehale there.. We took our puppy there as his paws were sour and bleeding.. After examination he came out and said it looked normal to him. They charged us $84 for that visit. I think he didn't even check his paws.. We couldn't be with our puppy during examination due to COVID restriction..

We would strongly NOT recommend avian vet services at this facility. We took our pet bird budgie (parakeet) for a beak trim and after waiting for 15-20 mins, the vet Lawrence came outside and told us that budgie had died during the process due to trauma. Due to COVID, we were not allowed inside during the procedure so we felt extremely helpless and shocked to hear the news. The vet did not warn us nor was able to explain clearly the reason for budgie's death and only provided speculations that he could have suffered from high BP and heart attack. When we looked at him, his beak was trimmed considerably (he had an overgrown beak), there was blood over the nostrils and this suggested that the vet was not able to realize that the bird was under extreme stress and trauma during the procedure and she could not stop the process before he had to succumb to the pain. We are extremely saddened to have lost our budgie who lived with us for over 5 years because of a vet who seems to NOT have the experience or operates based on speculations.

I've been bringing my pets (dogs and a cat) to Santa Clara Pet Hospital for decades. We love Dr Lawrence and the vet techs are always very friendly and helpful. Some of the texts have been there as long as I've been a customer which tells me it's a good place to work.
