This pet smart location in San Mateo is great, I was initially going in for a brush by Kong but then realized they didn’t supply this in the store. I found so many alternative brushes that are gentle just like Kong. It was great! They also had salmon oil, but it was tucked all the way at the top. So glad I was able to reach this myself and buy

Horrible corporation: store-brand (All Living Things) paper bedding killed our small animal: laced with some sort of chemicals, took us 6 days to locate cause with vet, by the time we switched, it was too late. What horrible corporation makes such an insidious product?? Never going to use a Petsmart store again (we have several pets, want to keep them well).

Good place to get dog and cat stuff. Not very variety of fish or birds, specifically bird food. Sometimes have to wait a while to be assisted if u need fish.

The first time I took my dog here, the experience was amazing and reassuring that they took care of my furry friend. But the second was sadly not the same experience. I appreciate the manager and how she handled my situation with my horrible grooming experience but this review is mainly for Sarah at the grooming salon. She was grooming a white small dog today (July 6, around 12:45-1:15pm) literally grabbed the dog by the neck and screamed in its face to shut up because it was nervous and crying as the manager was trying to resolve my situation for poorly trimmed nails. She was unprofessional and seemed vary impatient with dogs. Just made me question how she treats other dogs in the salon when others aren’t around. I wish I was recording. Keep your dog away from her.

Grooming service was excellent for our first time corgi.

It's my first time to visit this store and I highly appreciate the service that I've got. So warm and welcoming. So much stocks in store but organized. Easy to find the things you need but incase you can't... they have amazing associates that can help you out. Highly recommended and I will surely come back!!

fish related food, starter, gravel all had very limited options to choose

Jamie was really great. My original groomer had to cancel my appointment but they really worked around my schedule to make everything work out. And I truly couldn't be happier with how well the groom came out. I'll definitely be making my appointments with Jamie going forward!

While I know some owners are hesitant to use PetSmart for grooming - we actually find the experience to be quite good. You can easily schedule online or with their app. The groomers are very thoughtful and ask good questions to make sure they understand your pup and what you want in terms of their services. You get timely reminders and notifications throughout the process. Recommended based on our experiences.

A great place to get your best furry friend. Great and supportive employees. But pay attention to adoption hours schedule and come early - If not you may end up disappointed.

Very friendly knowledgeable staff these days. Which usually they are. I only had one bad experience a few months back earlier this year, where an opinionated, stressed out employee at the aquarium section needed a "day off", in my opinion. But otherwise there always been our 'go to store" for all of our "small pet owner" needs, when the kids where little. As in guinea pigs and aquarium fish. They are pretty stacked up on supplies and the store is always clean. Perhaps a "quick" touch up in the ladies room. But the main objective of this visit wasn't to "police" the facilities. Just getting set up for our "new aquarium". 4 stars is appropriate!
