The veterinarians are really great here, it’s a fantastic location, prices are slightly higher. Our challenge is always with the intake staff. More than one occasion we have dealt with rude reception staff. We try to communicate via email so we don't get barked at. But some insist in verbals. I especially hate the rude tones and the deep sighs! We feel berated, 3 out of 4 times and we have been here so many times! Most my family members just can’t deal with it anymore. I just got off the phone again with one of the ladies again she was huffing and puffing on the phone with me. Sorry to Inconvenience you. This time I decided this time maybe ill mirror image her tone and sighs but she didn't get the hint. We just can’t deal with it anymore! Looking for a new Vet with a more friendly front line office staff. Hey, If you don’t like being in customer service and dealing with humans- just get out—be a dog walker!

Staff are very friendly. They are very attentive to answering any questions. I feel very comfortable having my dog go to this vet.

Stay away from this hospital. They are not as knowledgeable as they claim. Over a long period of time I took my pet there when he was ill. They could not find what my pet’s health issue was. That’s the worst experience that I had in my life.

I don't recommend this place for any pet parent! All three doctors saw our pet during approximately a 6 month period, and after several "tests" and a lot of money spent, they could only guess she was a bit spoiled and just wanted more attention. Finally, we were able to find a specialist on our own and they were able to diagnose accurately, but unfortunately it was all too late. Sadly she passed while still a young pup.

This pet hospital really is the best. Dr Hoppe is the most professional, helpful and kind person we’ve met for our dog. Staff were always nice for every of our visit. Highly recommend

This is a great vet clinic for those of us with"exotics" - basically animals that aren't the standard cats and dogs. They are well organized, good medically, and have a warm, friendly atmosphere. Also, prices are fair- if you were getting the same service for your child, it would be much more expensive. We have guinea pigs and work with Dr. Tina Peak, who is excellent. I had a guinea pig with a chondrosarcoma tumor of the leg; she took off. The pig did very well and has survived a year since with no reoccurrence. Thanks, Dr Peak!

My second visit in 2021 spring: My cat had another issue later, so Dr. Hoppe prescribed some medication to him and told us to try for a few months. One month later, I received a call from her to follow up! I've seen so many vets in the past and this is the first vet that have followed up. I was pleasantly surprised. Highly recommend!! My original post from 2020 summer: We saw Dr. Margaret Hoppe today since my cat has a lump on the skin of his neck for two months and we got a little worried. Dr. Hoppe is very professional and kind, and I can tell that she loves animals and cares about them. My cat is very introverted and he goes crazy when there are strangers around, not to mention to do biopsy with a needle on his neck... Dr. Hoppe and her nurse contained him with towels and multiple cat gloves, and they were very careful not to hurt my cat. Based on my past experience with other vets who charged a lot while nothing was done, I thought we would receive a big bill after this visit, but the charge turned out to be very affordable and reasonable! I've been to the Bay Area for 4 years, and CSPH is the best experience I have ever had here. I feel so grateful that we found this place, and will recommend to friends and come back again!

Avoid this place - they disposed my ORIGINAL medical records, per "policy", without asking me first. When I phoned in after realizing they didn't return my medical record, they initially told me they'd look around for me and even scheduled a follow up appointment for me to come pick it up. The day on the follow-up appointment, I was then told, per their policy, they always dispose any medical record handed over. On top of this, they forgot to perform an exam and give me the meds that they said my dog need. Did they come up with a policy after realizing they'd lost my original copy? I don't know. At the minimum, patients need to be informed of your "policy". I won't be returning - who knows what else they'd do to my dog, without informing me ahead of time?

After jumping from vet to vet I have found my forever vet. Dr. Hoppe is very professional, caring and the cost of visits is not as much as other vets. I've had nothing but good experiences with her and the staff.

Friendly staff, competent doctor, super reliable service at a reasonable cost. One of the reasons that kept us stay in the Bay Area. I highly recommend this pet hospital!

Great pet hospital. The docs are always friendly and willing to explain things that you may have questions on. Prices for meds are on par with other places (e.g. 1-800-petmeds) and they really aren't "pushy" if you don't want a specific service/treatment. We will definitely be bringing our dogs here for years to come.

PET OWNERS BEWARE: 1.My dog, Scarlet, was dropped by the nurse after she naturally bit him — after he grabbed her without any caution when she was FACING AWAY from him. Somehow the management made the nurse’s lack of care and training seem like our fault... 2. Scarlet recently passed from a long-standing neurological condition. Her symptoms were ignored and dismissed for many months in numerous visits. Mind you, this Crystal Springs Per Hospital was the only primary vet we went to from the beginning until the end. We had to take her to the ER, because her previously undiagnosed and untreated episodes occurred again. And we only found out from the ER that her symptoms point to a lot of pain and issues with mobility which are likely neurological. Unfortunately, even with prompt treatment after an X-ray and an MRI within 3 days, it was too late. We chose this vet because of the high reviews — but the irresponsibility with which they treated my late 22 month old dog terrifies me of how they might treat other dogs with serious illnesses.

Very helpful, was able to find an appointment quickly to meet my grandpuppies needs.

Words could not express our gratitude to Dr Hoppe. Thanks much for taking care of my dog Oliver. She is knowledgable and professional. More importantly, she is compassionate and caring about the four-legged friend. My dog had a fever over 104 with unknown reasons. Dr. Hoppe managed to bring down his body temperature and advised us the proper approaches. Now my dog is back to normal and running around happily. Would love to support the business more in the future.

Crystal Springs Pet Hospital is a great place to bring your pet(s). They are kind, considerate and have good pet bedside manners. They made my pet feel welcomed. Standard per visit was good. Compassionate when we had to put our little fur-baby down. Will continue to bring our other fur-babies in for regular checkups.

I followed the doctors from the SFSPCA since they've decided to charge outrageous prices. They've always taken good care of my dogs. My 12 y/o got sick and we brought him there and they took care of him until they couldn't anymore. He was miserable and it was time to help him over the rainbow bridge. I was heartbroken and they treated me with the utmost respect and empathy and took such good care of my boy through the end. I'm grateful and now bring my other two there for their care. I highly recommend Crystal Springs Pet Hospital. I live in San Francisco and the trip is well worth it both cost-wise and care-wise.

They were so good with our Boxer. And wonderful with our cat. The best!!!

They are always great, very friendly, concerned and accommodating. We have had wonderful service from everyone there. When our little dog died right,before Christmas we,received the nicest letter from them. So thoughtful. Can't praise them enough!! Barb is especially nice--a real asset!!

The staff and doctors at this office are so lovely. During covid-19 they have to come to the car to pick up pets and bring them in alone but they're constantly coming back outside to give status updates and ask questions and generally make sure that you're aware of what's going on. Everybody was so kind and calm and I could tell that my cats were being taken care of even when I couldn't see them. Every dog and cat that I watched being brought in was baby-talked to and taken care of so gently. They answered every question that I had and explained problems and solutions clearly and honestly with different options including their recommendations. I'm sorry to be moving away soon - I might honestly keep coming back even from East Bay.

It's very nerve wracking when going to a new vet. We are happy we found this place. The doctors and staff are friendly and caring. Their pricing seem fair which is important to those of us with fixed income.

Fantastic service during a difficult time. My pet required a lifesaving surgery that wasn't an option at this time and they handled it very well. Very compassionate about my pet and very understanding about my budget. I would highly recommend this vet for both emergencies and everyday care.

The staff is so friendly and great with pets, when my cat was peeing blood, I emailed them about an appointment. They called me MINUTES after I hit send and made sure that I was there with my cat before the day ended. I really feel like they care about me and all my furry little pets!

These guys screwed up scheduling our visit, refused to see us and sent us away with a kitten in need of immediate help. Not sure how their usual service is, but today they fumbled.

One of the best vets we’ve seen. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and great with our cat. Margaret (the vet) was very caring and informative about what was going on. She laid out the different potential issues very clearly for us. Just hours after leaving the vet and our cat is already acting much more lively and healthy.
